The underlying theme in this album is control of someone or a situation. The true meaning of this song is not the act itself but the fact that someone could walk away after doing something like that and act like nothing ever happened... and if someone knew or saw or found out about it, what would be the reaction? We do and also overlook a lot of shit as human beings that we really shouldn't for any number of reasons... fear, ego, complacency...
5:09 That is most probably a piano patch or something from a Nord Lead 2 (Franks main synth at the time) being ran through an FX bay full of reverbs and delays and resampled and triggered to cascade like water droplets. You can kind of hear the attack portion of a piano sound in there. Could also be a Fender Rhodes electric piano as one of those were likely around when recording this - I think Chino Moreno owns or owned one. Maybe the first use of musique concrete or sound collage in that context ever used in a metal song.
Frank NIT is a genius sound designer and musique concrete artist and I agree, his contributions can't be overstated - he has added quite a lot to this band's 'signature" sound and vibe since joining the band in the 90's. This song is a PERFECT example of what he does
There us an acoustic version of this song which i also really really love. You should do a video on that version its completely different vibe. Also beware, entombed and cherry waves 🎉
Yeah, great song!!! The whole album is a masterpiece. You may like a band from my country, Spain. They are Derby Motoretas Burrito Kachimba. React to their song Gitana, please!!!
