I LOVE the Kawasaki Triples! My first vehicle at 16 was a 1976 Kawasaki S3-400 in Cherry Condition. I also picked up two 1975 H1-500's. I rebuilt them with Wiseco piston kits, and they would fly...I then graduated to the Kaw 1000's... They were so much fun!

Nice one Jack. I had a Honda 750 Four the exact same colour as the one you showed. It was by far my favourite bike in your vid. It reminded me of so many good times, thank you mate. My second favourite was the 50cc Mini Trail I also learnt to ride one when I was 5yo. When I wasn’t on it I was running behind it because I couldn’t wait for my turn. I am now the proud owner of an immaculate 2007 Harley Davidson Wide Glide, and I absolutely lover it. A big cheer from an Aussie rider.

Circa 1977 I saw an ad 1973 Kawasaki H1 $550. Went to buy it the father was selling it for the son. He's said it's over there in the corner, banished never to be ridden again! I didn't ask why. Was so proud of that baby blue bomber. Came up to stop light next to me Camaro with the period corrected driver with mullet, two carburetors sticking out of the hood and girl friend with the puffy blond hairdue. I gave a Nod-Nod he gave a Wink-Wink and it was on! What ensued was the best power wheelie I ever did as I ripped him off the line, I still remember it like it was yesterday 40 plus years later!

I had an h1 also in high school. The first time I rode it to school I new it was the fastest thing in the parking lot. When I left a shoot that day i didn’t see anyone taking notice of me so the next day I made my mind up I was gonna get noticed that day. Lol, so when I came out of parking lot I turned the throttle wide open and the hit 2nd gear, so naturally the front end came up for a very ice wheelie and when I came down there were nothing but blue lights in my mirror. The cop made me put my brand new bike on the sidewalk and took me to the jail house for reckless driving. I had to call an uncle to come get me out . I did get noticed that day, lol.

Great video! I didn't know there was such a thing as an auction like this. I was hoping to see a 1981 Kawasaki 440 LTD here to see what it might be worth. That's the bike I have been holding onto for 40 years. Only have 670 actual miles on it and all original. I down-sized to the 440 from a 74 Suzuki GT750 water buffalo thinking it was just too quick. Before even licensing it in Montana, I moved to Minnesota and bought an 81 Suzuki GS850. My girlfriend said to hang onto the 440 and she would ride it. So I did. But she didn't. It hadn't been started in a lot of years but it became a pandemic project and it's running again but just around my neighborhood until I replace the tires and brakes. trying to decide if I should keep hanging onto it or free up the space in my garage.

Where are the British? They dominated the world in production until the Japanese came to maturity in the late 50s. I imagine there were a number of them at the auction, but weren't highlighted. Otherwise, good job and other that a slip or two (calling the big watercooled Kawasaki "water buffalo" - the name for the Suzuki 750 2 stroke) I enjoyed the video. You asked about age and favorite bike - I'm 82, still ride my 1959 AJS twin and recall fondly the many miles I enjoyed on my 1970 Norton Commando I had for 17 years. Thanks

Great video Jack . I've been to a few bike auctions in Daytona . Your comments were usually spot on . But I have to correct you on one . The description of the KZ1300 as the water buffalo was just a tad bit off . That distinction goes to the 70's Suzuki gt750 2 stroke water cooled three cylinder . Also referred to by British friends as the kettle . I've owned a lot of the Japanese bikes shown and a few Harleys and British bikes . My favorite of all to me was my 96KZ1000P . As it had the same J motor as the early 80's 1000 -1100 bikes I did a GPZ 1100 conversion to it using carbs instead of FI. I'll bet no one would expect a giant killer cop bike especially the 100 in. plus crowd with Harleys . Anyway a good show .. Does Cycle Drags do any coverage on the gulf coast . I'm in Gulfport . Thanks

The Captain America easy Rider bike started Life as a 1952 Hydra glide panhead.. the frame was radically cut at the steering head and raked 45°, that was pretty radical even for California bikes back then ... The front end was that of a wide glide style with 12-in oversized front fork tubes extreme... List of this supposedly replica is not even close as it has a early 1940s style Springer front end and not much rake to it at all overstock the only thing that represented Captain America like here is the gas tank everything else is ordinary off the Wall chopper... But the Springer front end maybe worth a few bucks ... And today you can buy brand new panhead engines from S&S with all modern internals with a solid state 12 volt charging system that was the main problem with panheads in their day was replacing generators and regulators... And the problem with all Harley's back then that came with generators in general as I rebuilt a Sportster one time for a guy with a lot of mods to the engine in a week he locked it up we were freaking out over the couple thousand dollars spent inside this motor... Come to find out he's ridden it so God damn hard he threw the windings out of the armature and stuck in the armature and the field coils and locked up the generator is why the engine wouldn't turn over we pulled the generator and it fired right up.. who can say they can build a Harley engine that will spin fast enough to throw a generator apart.. I know one guy that's me

I got mine.......a 75’ Z1b. I practically stole it from uninformed seller for $50. And wasn’t even a basket case. It’s all original except the exhaust and paint and only 14k on clock. I’m about to go all in and have a full restoration done to get it back to mint condition. Man I wish I could own all the bikes I ever thru a leg over. I started bikes back in 1966 as a kid. Can’t say there wasn’t a single one that wasn’t a blast to ride.

First bike I ever rode, was a Black Shadow.. Back seat that was.. :D I was 14, and the owner told me, that it could do over 220 kmt - but knowing everything, I knew, he was pulling my leg... Could have bought it for ca 7 grand many years ago, when he "wanted to" sell it, so he (his wife) could aford a house.. Devorced some years after - probably regrets the sale the rest of his life..

We pull up at a red light on Hwy 319 in the middle of thomasville Georgia. I’m on the left on a Honda 500 4cyl, Jerry is in the middle on a 70 or so orange Kawasaki 500 3cyl 2 stroke and Dudley is on the right on one of those blue 73 750 Kawasaki 3cyl. As we are sitting there waiting on the light to change a cop pulls up behind us right on our taillights! I thought everyone saw him until the light goes yellow and Jerry stood up on that rocket and starts reviving it up! It turns green and he leaves about a 50 foot dark stripe on the pavement! You should have seen the look on his face when he turned around grinning only to see the cop car, I took a left, Dudley took a right and Jerry hit the center line and was long gone!
