It's always so heartening when a rescue cat starts trusting you. My sister adopted a rescue, and when she first started playing and accepting pets it was a really wonderful feeling. Fostering is a really wonderful thing to do. I hope OR finds a great family too!

what an amazing situation. you did such a great job introducing these two. i used to work at a cat rescue, and spent so much time coaching and talking people through introducing a new cat to their resident cat. it isn't always easy, but it's nice to see you give each cat their own time and space to be comfortable. also, Rou Rou is my favorite type of cat coloring - ticked tabby!

They are so precious together. It's so nice to see Hope loves her!

We "fostered" a stray cat in my neighborhood - I couldn't stand to see her starving and took her in, got her to the vet etc. She was so skinny and turned out, pretty malnurished and sick. Slowly, she got better and bonded with my daughter - staying with her all the time. The idea was to get her well and find her a home (i have two dogs already) but turns out, she's a foster fail, my daughter and husband won't let me re-home her, lol. Her name is Peachy.

The great thing about fostering is that you are socializing Hope too! The more fosters you take in the more he will be better at getting no along with other cats and dogs❤️ I want to foster so bad but I live in a studio 😩

This drives home how lucky Terry and I were with our animals. We'd just bring 'em home. It never occurred to us there might be a proven protocol to follow to help ensure a successful integration. (This was way back in the pre-Internet era, so research on such topics was difficult) I'm pretty sure our eldest cat thought he was a dog. He hung out with them, and enjoyed doing dog things. At one point, we had 4 dogs, 2 cats and a ferret all living happily under one roof. It's better to be smart, and follow a proven method, as Jenn & T are doing, than risk harm to an animal. Especially as some foster animals may have experienced trauma in the past. As I said, we were lucky.
