I am 64, twice divorced. My last divorce lasted 8.25 years. In the end, I got the house, most of the chattels , and the business. My son made his own decision at 14 and moved in with me. Which means she paid me child support. He is now 19 and has no contact, his choice, with that alcoholic mother of his. So - in some cases, the man does prevail. I heard the settlement she got is almost gone, and she is unemployable. I know she has tried to make contact with me. That is not going to happen. I will never marry or even be in a relationship - ever again.

Yesterday I saw my Liberal, 20 years-married younger brother and his (now 16 year old) son. We went for a ride without his wife present. My brother asked about my dating life and we got on the subject of online dating. So I started telling his son about the OKCupid data where women find 80% of men ugly and only 4% attractive. Men find 50% of women below average. His son said "Wow! You should write a book about this!" I was telling his son that women are rated 25 times hotter (a girl in the bottom 2 percentile is treated like the average man online, AND the average woman is treated like men in the top 2 percentile). That's a 2500% scalar. So what did my brother say? "Men have superficial standards when it comes to beauty". Yes, he said what lesbians said in 1993. When he visited my place he only stayed about 3 minutes and told me he had to leave. I don't think he'll allow me to ever hang out with his son alone.

I live an extremely happy life at 40, because I listened to so called „bitter men“ since I was 13 years old.

Men are completely ignorant of what goes on in Family Court and domestic relations. I had a judge take off his glasses, lean over the bench and very purposefully tell me in open court..."You are no longer at the head of your family, I AM". And then he turned to my ex-wife and asked her ..."Now, how much money do you need?" Ultimately, I lost my retirement, and my job, and my career was in complete shambles. Trust me, they don't care if you blow your brains out, or have to drink out of a mud puddle to survive they just want two things, your money and someone to hate. And you will do just fine in their eyes.

I made the mistake of marrying a woman who really didn’t like to work. Admittedly she did have a low paying job in the beginning. But once married she lasted working till our first kid… in the end 15 years later my lawyer advised not to fight for full custody or even 50/50 because she stayed home for 15 years so the courts would award her as primary caregiver. I took that advice and am currently paying 50% of my income to her each month for the last 7 years. I drive a 14 year old car and live in a low end welfare apartment as it’s the only place I can afford even though I make over 80k a year… all I gotta say is IF you get married make her work! And never let her stay at home as that will hurt you for trying to get any kind of custody. Never take care of a woman as Paul says she needs to pay half the bills and WORK or you get screwed.

I'm from Brazil, born and lived in Rio de Janeiro since ever. I saw my greatfather die at 65 years old and today (15 years after my grandfather die) your house became a whorehouse for the grandchildren's (my grandmother it's alive). My father ever devoted himself to the family and never had recognition from my mother or from my sister. For this i conclused that is better be single and childfree.

There is a man in Eastern Canada paying support to his ex-girlfriend. There was no commingling of finances. Neither one was responsible for the expenses of the other. She sometimes dated his place for a few days and the reverse was also true. They broke up and he is now paying support to her. They never even had a common place of residence. That is messed up Beyond belief!

My wife passed away suddenly about a year ago and I had a couple of sessions with a counselor to help sort things out in my head. I told her one of the things I know for sure is I'll never allow another woman to secure any legal agency over me ever again. The counselor said she wasn't surprised. She said in her practice she hears that a lot. After that session I didn't go back. I had heard everything I needed to know.

At 48 years of age, I thank God every single day for never allowing me to have ever agreed to any of my ex girlfriend's demands to get married or have kids. There is no physical beauty, romantic chemistry, mental chemistry, or even vast sums of money that will convince me to marry or have kids. This is 💯 well beyond just "risk" at this point for men. By default, regardless of what the variables are, the entire universe of marriage and kids is engineered to erode men.

At 76 years of age. I am to set in my ways to think your way Paul. I guess I am the lucky one. As for giving advice to younger people. With all the wokery and downright brainwashing of our kids nowadays I am glad I did not have to endure what they are going to live through. But every now and again to really piss everyone off. There is another factor not often mentioned but needs to be considered. The state takes a cut of any payments made to a ex-wife. The man is an exploitable resource. Everyone has a financial incentive to go through family court except the man.

When my wife refused to settle the divorce outside of the court system (we had NO CHILDREN), the MALE judge while giving my Ex all of my assets said to me, "This is what happens to men in a divorce. If you didn't wish to lose EVERYTHING - you shouldn't have gotten married." So, two clear points: #1. Don't get married. #2. MEN are just as responsible for the ongoing mess with women as women are. Don't trust women - don't trust men. PERIOD.

A average man earning average money who can save and look after a percentage of his money by staying single can be very comfortable and have a great lifestyle and all his needs can be taken care of outside of marriage or relationship. I agree with the points about who to date if you still want a relationship, the problem for men is, more conditions means much smaller pool of potential dates. Today, men, unless they have high value socially, financially or sexually, have no choices and can't be pickers. You can filter women as much as you want, but in the end you'll realize you simply can't choose. You either go alone or you have to deal with what type and attitude women of your area have. Some men fix that by travelling to less developed countries and try a new life, but not many succeed.

Ok. I guess I am the anomaly here. I'm on my 4th marriage. I've had 3 divorces, all in Florida, and one with child custody involved. First divorce cost me $300 in the mind 1980's. She didn't show up so I got the house and car I was paying for. Happy Camper. 2nd Marriage was to a girl I got pregnant shortly before the first divorce and had my only child with. We married when my daughter was a year old. Why did I marry? I figured it was easier to get custody of my daughter as the ex-husband then the ex-boyfriend. Divorced a year later and cost me $400 with shared child custody and me paying child support, about $250/mo. Just after my daughter turned 8, I sued and was given full custody. Being Ex-Hubby and Ex-Wife being a crazy bitch made a difference. Cost me $500. Circa 1995 :). Paid child support for 7 years, and never received a dime after I received full custody. Didn't care. I had my daughter with me full time. That's what mattered. BTW, I was a single guy in the Navy at the time. Left the Navy shortly thereafter. 3rd Marriage was for mutual support of kids. My daughter needed a mother and her daughter needed a father. For several years all was well but as our children aged we grew apart. Mutually decided to divorce. Had no shared assets. Even had lunch together after the proceedings. Cost about $500. Love Florida's quick divorces. On 4th Marriage. Going on 19 years. Her 4th as well. Been together longer then all of her and my priors combined. We have grown apart to a degree and are good friends at this point. Have not lived together for several years. Concentrating on our careers and meeting up when we can. May end up in divorce or may not. Other then an AirBNB we own together there are no other shared assets and she makes WAY more then I do.. We will see. As for future relationships? Oh, hell no. I'm done. Been there numerous times and got out lucky. I would rather beat my nuts to smithereens with a ballpeen hammer then get in a relationship with a woman again. Paul helps keep me inline.

All women take into consideration a man's status and earnings before marriage, be she a waitress or a CEO. Reasons women give for divorce: "we drifted apart" = can you believe he _still_ expects sex occasionally! "we fell out of love" = I can do better, I'm still attractive "he neglected me" = all he did was work, pay bills and maintain the house and cars "I met my soulmate" = my ex got out of jail! "I felt suffocated" = $500/month for hair and nails isn't that much! "I wasn't happy" = the tall handsome neighbor just got divorced!

Been a subb for a LONG time. Paul, You are a Godsend and don't get near enough recognition for being on the frontline and targeted accordingly. I literally pity pretty much every married guy I know or have known. And I've caught the unspoken resentment as well. They KNOW they have the sword of Damaclese dangling over their heads. The closest you'll get to an admission is "it isn't always easy". There is one aspect I've never heard mentioned before. Very often the guys you work with who will butthole and stab you in the back in a NY minute are the married guys. Especially as they age and their "value" becomes a matter of survival trying to avoid decapitation. Then pile on the underlying resentment and envy. Unspoken but always with a "good woman" psychicly imprinted beside them holding a pitch fork like an Amish photo from the gates of Hades. If you pay attention to what they actually say it's usually passed off as "it's a dog eat dog world" or some variation. I've literally heard one of the worst offenders use the term "cheaper to keep her". And my heart actually bleeds for him to some extent. I can't even fathom a roll in the dough with an entire bottle of pecker pills with his wife. And I have a hunch a LOT of gals ca$hed in their casino chips in the last 3 yrs and that number will skyrocket shortly. From my perspective these castrated drone bees have the equivelent of syphyllus that will inevitably claim their cranial matter if the sword does not. Hoping to occasionally have their order of the same undercooked and greasy KFC filled sporadically if the Queen puts her vibrator down or climbs off the neighbors kid long enough to give a liver treat to an obedient chihuahua. Divorced, relatively young. Don't even want another gf. If it was all business, like you say, then I might consider it, but it's not even business it's just solipsistic entitlement on her part. Going to rent everything instead, from food prep to child rearing. I'll even have money left over.
