My ex did all this. When I would be ready to leave and at the end of my rope he would remind me of all my flaws and tell me no one could ever love me except him. I was a stay at home mom so he told me I had no money (all his) and no skills and I couldn't take care of myself without him. I finally got away after he threw me against a wall, and now I have 2.5 years with a man who treats me amazing. He said I made him angry so he hurt me, I made him mad, so he did drugs or watched porn or had an affair... it was always my fault. This is all narcissistic behavior. Run if you have this man, he will NOT ever change.

Exactly! I'm going through this same. Went through another weekend of berating, blaming and being told to end myself as I am useless. So many other horrible things and he yet again apologizes once Monday morning comes. Blames the alcohol and saying I make him drunk and he still blamed me for his horrendous temper. And he's been like this his whole life, yet I'm the one who made him cruel? Gas lighting times a thousand. And I know I need to leave.

My husband apologies for everything! I always tell him he has over used the word, never fixes the issues he is apologizing for, never communicate or talks about issues. He constantly tells me he doesn't want to argue, if i so much as open my mouth. We don't talk. We have no intimacy, he constantly brings up he's a nice guy. 7 yrs of marriage i am working my way out of it. I refuse to keep trying only to have him do nothing.

I’ve always seen that the question “what do you bring to the table?” Is kind of a loaded question. No matter how a person responds it usually gets the guy to say something like “you don’t bring what I bring” or something along those lines

Yeah and that's definitely a red flag because anyone with half good sense knows you aren't bringing the same thing. No one should want a partner to bring the same thing. It's like having a pot luck and everyone brings the same dish. How crazy is that? You need for the other person to bring something different in order to give balance.

They come up with the same bs questions as well as what’s your body count. They’re not really being genuine and trying to get to know a woman. Usually looking for a way to disqualify her. I don’t think they are necessarily bad or toxic people they are just given bad advice but don’t really know what questions to ask and all they really know is what they’ve seen so they believe those are the questions they should be asking.

I looked at these narcissist traits, and he doesn't have them. However once I came upon insecure/manipulative personality, everything was spot on. wow. I'm not perfect either. I need to be more emotionally regulated when having an argument, so I do avoid arguments bc I tend to spiral. Also, him not having a good childhood, not being seen by a therapist after being adopted, and growing up in a patriarchal household has not mixed well with my people pleaser personality. I'm at rock bottom now after exploding my emotions after an argument over chicken......I'm a mess and glad I came across this channel to AT LEAST recognize and have a little clarity. I will take notes for my therapy session in august. God bless y'all

I was so secure of myself and I have always been, and it’s funny cause I tolerated so much bs from my ex, she wanted a relationship when I didn’t want one because she was full of red flags but I decided to give her a chance, long story short she disrespected me so many time saying “ no one was gonna want someone like me” “this is what you are gonna get if you piss off a woman” “you are just like my broke a e ex” So many things i tolerated and the first time i made a mistake she dipped out, I learned that if that person makes on mistake you leave I should have done that from the beginning, just like you say you don’t have time I should’ve said the same thing but I saw value in her…

Alot of this makes sense. I went through alot of cuss words used to demean me and the silence came after he screamed and yelled at me. He would chase me up and down the stairs to try and make me listen to him. I would ask for space and for us to talk at a later time. Even with that, he still drained my soul. It made my head tight, I became a nervous wreck. My chest hurt so bad....I'm sorry. This is making me think of what I used to deal with. Still working on myself and I am getting better.

Another great video Stephan, communication is so important... it is like oxygen to life!! I am very observant of men when they talk to other people besides myself, it is very revealing! I have deep respect and admiration for men who can stay calm, cool and collected, specially in conversations that are difficult. Thank you Stephan for this video. It was great eye opener as always. My ex and I have finally closed door mutually and going on our separate ways. After hearing this video, it really confirms that he was a very insecure person with me day one because he has a problem with worthiness. He done so much wrong to others females. He doesn't have no value of himself as well as playing victim and narcissist behavior as well. But for me, I am good. Glad to out of situation. Glad We were very respectful and supportive when he was capable but always negative thoughts someone trying run game on him. Never take responsibility of his action or be accountable things he say or do. Constantly say sorry because of guilt or give me a guilt gift. I really took awhile trying understand what I was dealing with plus silent treatment. I really feel sorry for those who are suffering with that mindset but I will not be apart of it. I am not the blame for something they have been going through before I came in the picture. So thank you educating those who can learn and do better in next relationship ❤😂🎉

I really appreciate this video. It has brought a lot of things into context. It has also confirmed to me that these types of men, with their insecure behaviours are not a safe place for me. Having grown up with a narcissistic mother, an absent father and an abusive husband, these guys can trigger me back to a place where no longer wish to be. (Especially the silent treatment one.😮‍💨) I currently hold the position that I have put a LOT of work into my healing. I’ve spent endless days and nights watching videos, making notes, practicing mindfulness and developing my self worth and self love. I’ve spent many days on a therapist couch, sometimes crying for the entire session because my pain was too deep for me to even speak. Now I am in a better place, I am not interested in any of these types of men, regardless of if it’s intentional or unintentional, if they are not prepared to put in the work they need to do. I hope I don’t sound harsh, but I’ve finally gotten to the place where I fight for myself, protect my peace and have become quite comfortable with walking away from people who do not or cannot exhibit what is required for a healthy relationship. I can’t lie…being here feels GOOD as I’m finally choosing me! Thank you as always Stephan for your gems for you too have been massively influential in my journey. Blessings 🙏🏾😊❤️

GREAT VIDEO!!!💓💯💯💯 This video truly describes one of my family member’s girlfriend. My family member is a sweet loving guy, but he is treated so poorly by the woman in his life. The things she does like hit him for dream she had… mock him behind his back while the kids are watching… have an attitude & give the silent treatment to anyone for no reason & so much more. My flesh wants to jump out & say something & really teach her a lesson… But GOD TEACHES ME to humble myself, die to my flesh, love her as Chris loves me & pray for her. If a man asked me, what am I bringing to the table. I would ask, are we talking about money? Not a dam thing. The men in my family don't take money from women. My last boyfriend told me that I bring out the worst in him. Later a investigator told me he has a criminal record involving domestic violence............ Right, I am the problem. Another man told me that no one would love me more, and I said, love doesn't feel like this, and you don't know what you are talking about. There is definitely something bettter out there.

He doesn't like the situation of economy in Canada. There was disagreement !! Why, doesnt he just let me go?? His looking after his Parent's have health issues. I was married to a man that was so insecure that he convinced himself that 24 hours a day I was cheating on him. I was madly in love with him, never thought of cheating. Our marriage had to end because he decided to send nude pictures to my friends and family members. Some of the pictures weren't me, but the few that were, was supposed to have been kept within the confinement of our marriage - not to mention a couple of them were taken without my knowledge. I, unfortunately, welcomed a divorce. It couldn't happen fast enough, but it also broke my heart. TOXIC men do TOXIC things to others, those they "say" they love. So sad.

Another "I'm sorry" that is an issue is when someone says "I'm sorry that I...I see that it was really hurtful and I will fix this." Sound nice except in both significant relationships I had what was said or done before was due to a control issue. They showed me their true nature but used it to control me. It was followed later, not in the moment with, "How come you never apologize?" Which was not true. I would be careful with my words and actions, had no intent of controlling or changing the man, and when I would mess up, I would acknowledge and deal with it. Whereas, their sorry was follwed by actions or words that were meant to make me be or do what they wanted. It was not an acceptance of me.

Saying 'sorry' all the time can also be a sign of mental abuse, like maybe his dad was way too tough on him as a kid. Some parents don't realize how they're impacting their kids.

Stephan you're so aligned. Taking ownership of your inappropriates or apologising should come with changes, otherwise its no apology. Unfortunately many mis concept lust for love and go with that flow ignoring all red flags. But the truth is Love is God and a divine concept that can't be created nor destroyed but we are to manifest it on earth. Read Mattew 19: 5-6 and 1 John 4: 19. Therefore a connection of soulmate is intangible, mutual, selfless , sacrificial, natural and effortless. Like wine, it gets better with time and age. But Lust is temporal, desires more of the flesh and its fantasies leading to resentment and discontentment. Therefore you cannot be good enough for the wrong person, take no offence in his behaviour or insecurity but see it as a redirection to what is yours and seek Gods guidance for choice. My fiancée is extremely insecure. He just text me this last week "nobody will ever love you like I do and have what we have"... Second toxic phrase he says all the time, "I'm sorry" it's very manipulative imo... And, I always ask him, "why are you sorry?" The last insecurities he does is the "silent treatment" and I cannot stand it. We are in a long distance relationship so his insecurities are HIGHER now that we do not live in the same state. He is an overall good man, just very insecure from his past hurts. We are starting pre-marriage counseling and individual counseling which I feel is needed for our relationship. I hate that phrase/question, "What do you bring to the table?" You stated a true fact they want to lower a woman's self-esteem/control. Last night my ex thought he was gonna come and pull me in to see if he still has a hold on me he's always looking for eye contact I left him for my peace I explained to him what he did is not except able and I can see him he tried to have sex I told him we're not going to have sex we're not getting back together I'm not repeating another pattern of him imposing verbal abuse on me or any other crap I see his pattern we will argue then he will try to soften my feelings and then the next thing you know we're arguing about yet another unnecessary situation I see the cycle of events reoccurring and I refuse to get caught up sucked in all over again he keeps thinking I'm trying to sleep with someone else but I don't want anyone I want me to be ok and healed from all the drama. Why would I leave him to jump in the bed with another dude who could potentially have the same energy he has he's like the sexually transmitted demonans I did a lecture on years ago.

Yeah man, my ex gf use to say how INSECURE I was…. I had no reasons to start a relationship with her when she decided to go on her trip to Hawaii with her boss I LET THAT slide… when we moved in together I was obvisouly paying for everything until one day I asked for her help with 500$ for rent, she got so ANGRY that she compared me with her ex that I was broke like him, she was making me so insecure with her words I should’ve just told her it was over but I decided to keep going with the relationship, every argument she would say she was leaving, she would say she was done so many threats! And yeah at the end I WASNT READY for a relationship lol yeah OK, when we had everything going fine while she was going out getting her food paid for and rent, but when it came down to telling her how I was feeling or my points of view I had no say

What about the guys that force you to apologize to them because they took what you said as argumentative? They think I’m always trying to fight them or I’m doing things in purpose to upset them. They left me. But I’m so confused about how it ended up being my fault that he left. He said I didn’t bring him peace, but he didn’t cultivate the peace when we had it. I was always holding on to the good days until I did something to make them mad and it would go into the same cycle again of me upsetting them. I’m so lost hope to move on
