Love my Mercedes C230. Fecking HATE this method of checking the oil. I want a dipstick where I can see exact levels and to see how dirty the oil is. I don't want to use some hack method to do this. Love most of the auto features in this car but this STINKS.
Thank you. I was pushing the wrong button. I thought my display was malfunctioning. I gave up and got an oil change. I should have come here first. So silly.
Perfect! How many miles you have and can u make videos on the problems you face with this one?. Mine use to vibrate, we changed the engine and transmission mount but it didn't work till we changed the front axles and it work fine now.
lm like you ,l like to fix everything. l bought a 2002 c240,fixed everything but now the only thing is the bottom of the doors are rusting...not sure I want to try to repair myself ,but I may try it.
That's a gas engine? There is a 2nd engine oil menu available in IC on 05 E-class not sure about 04 C-class but might be? If there is a menu screen that displays outdoor temperature ONLY, scroll to that with steering wheel menu buttons, turn key to position 1 & push reset button (backlight dimmer control on IC) 3 times. It should change display in IC to a readout of battery voltage. Use steering wheel arrow-up button to change display from voltage to engine oil quantity. Turn key to position 2, after 10 seconds a reading in quarts down to the tenth will appear. This display will stay up even after starting engine & you can observe it gradually subtract & fluctuate as oil pump begins drawing oil up & it starts to cascade & recirculate through engine. I use this display routinely on cold starts to determine at what point engine has reached oil saturation at idle, approximately 2 quarts/minutes. I wait until it reaches this level before revving engine or putting it in gear. I toggle between this display & mpg display during long trips to verify oil is not being consumed. This display is very accurate on perfectly level surface cold starts.
Kimani Charles Ours has issues that seem to cause other issues. Electric issues. And the damn door handles. Inside keep failing. Third door card. Fifth handle drivers-side.

Kimani Charles AC motor seized. Water pump swapped cause it was leaking. Car had a hard life before we got it. Now has a weird gearbox thing going on. Clunks into gear and doesn’t want to kick back a gear.
