And very inexpensive. I live on the gulf coast and sardines are a perfect food to keep in our hurricane pantry, long shelf life, healthy, tasty, no cooking. Hell, you don't even need a can opener. :D
When I was in Portugal I realized what sardines actually taste like. Now I only buy them from Portugal. It has the full small (but fat) fish + skin + bones. In olive oil - Yum. I use them in my Caesar dressing too!
@@carolmiller5713 You just made me SOOOO hungry! And I'm only 5 hours into a 24 hour fast! I really want to try those though, I'm gonna look for some......tomorrow, but for the next 19 hours I'll not think about them. 😊
Sharing my success story Dr. Berg, as per your video on B1. I stopped taking my Copaxone injections after 21 years, I'm 66 and so far I have had no relapses of my M.S. I did have a lot of numbness in my feet and lower legs, always did. Since taking B1 at least every other day I have found that I have more feeling in my feet and no more really uncomfortable numbness. My feet always felt either boiling hot or so cold they felt hot like a dry ice kind of cold. They are much better now and I am sleeping better, without discomfort and pulling my feet in and out of the covers through the night... LOL. God bless you and thank you :)
I love you, Dr Berg ❤I weaned my mom off all of her pharma drugs by switching them to vitamins/supplements you had mentioned in your videos. Switched: *Eloquis to Lumbrokinase *Statin to Tocotreinol E, niacin(also for her schizophrenia paranoia), and recently have added potassium(Nusalt) for insulin resistance for she is pre-diabetic. 😢I took your warning ⚠️ We switched our synthetic b-complex to natural version of your nutritional yeast and also have added chlorella. She’s taking D3 with mega dose K2 for her artery calcification and her calcium not going into her bones. She’s also taking boron for her bone. Her posture looks better and less fragile. It worked super fast. She’s feeling great and looking good~ I’ve also started taking Lumbrokinase to clean my arteries and I no longer have lingering headaches I had suffered for so many years. I’m also taking tocotrienol and I feel fantastic! May angels protect you and your family. May God richly bless you with continue wisdom and knowledge in what you do and may it all return to you and your future generations a hundred-fold. Together we unite and stand against the corrupt medical system. I love you ❤️😘💕 ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I've successfully lost 35 lbs doing keto. It's been very difficult but your videos have kept me on track and helped me change a very unhealthy lifestyle. I'm hoping you will continue to research and bring guys like me who can't afford a nutritionist great information. Thank you and God bless you 🙏🏼.
Good thing Skipjack is the predominant species in canned, chunk-light Tuna, plus it is very sustainable to harvest. I enjoy pickled/kippered herring for my regular animal Omega-3 fix, plus walnuts for a non-animal source. Nice video Dr. Berg.
Dr Berg you are the man ! After binge watching your videos doing IF and slowly introducing keto into my diet over the last four weeks my doctor wants to reduce my HBP meds that I have been on for over 20 years !!!!! I could cry I’m so happy Thank you 😘
Well done! Feels great, doesn't it? My pcp cut my BP medication in half, and I have an appointment next week to reduce it by half again. After that: bye-bye BP meds altogether.
That's amazing! Congratulations! I will share this with Dr. Berg! If you’ve benefited from Dr. Berg’s program or content in any way, we’d love to hear your success story! If you would like to share it, please use this link: www.drberg.com/add-client-success-story Dr. Berg's Support Team.
@@Drberg Thank you will share my story after tomorrow night when I get weighed as that’s another added benefit I would like to share of following Dr Bergs advice… 😄😄
Success story huh? Well, I found your channel round 2020 while fighting severe IBS. At the time doctors of course told me they "didn't know what caused IBS" but they were sure I was "probably gluten intolerant". Cutting out the gluten did not help. Nothing gave me more than temporary relief. It would take many paragraphs to list all the things I learned from your channel but to sum up, your channel acted as a gateway to me completely relearning the science of diet and digestion. I found many channels and small organic businesses as a result of your channel. Bit by bit I changed my diet and expanded my knowledge. Got rid of the sugar habit and the junk oils. Started drinking raw kefir. Then finally, I found the key factor: Glyphosate. Not gluten. Glyphosate. Started baking my own glyphosate free bread. Within 3 weeks of removing all the glyphosate from my foods, my IBS went away and never returned. This is after having had it for 3 years running. I'm now going on a full year IBS free and I've even been able swap all my mainstream meds for a natural herb (k). So yes, your channel is helping people.
Oh wow 😮 My family and I eat wild caught ahi tuna steaks quite often, I thought it was good and beneficial but now finding this out is alarming. Thanks Dr. Berg you’re doing great things in the world.
hello Dr. !!! all i can sayis that i am from barcelona so, sorry about my english, hahahaha. Since i discovered your youtube channel i just turn kinda of an addict to watch it and learn. it helped me a lot while having gout first symptoms, but it just took a month to get fully healed by following your advises, since then i recommend all the people i know to follow you. One thing that would be great is to have all of your videos with spanish subtitles. well, thanx for everything. You are doing a great service to mankind.
Wow, I had been wondeeing about this. Thanks for answering this important topic, especially for families with kids who already have heavy-metal damage and a slower rate of methylation. Thanks Dr. Berg!
I always thought skipjack was just a brand of tuna. Definitely buying that from now on, especially as it way cheaper than the john west brand i normally get!
It's a shame that skipjack tuna is so awful. Yellowfin is so much better in texture and taste. Why do the things I love keep falling off my allowed list?!
@@gunner5916 it only tastes good to you because you have trained yourself to like it. Thinking that, " what is good for you tastes bad." Is not an original idea. It's propaganda put out there by the folks who profit by selling you poison. Your body naturally craves quality nutrition. That natural tendency has been subverted and can be reignited by feeding your body what it most needs. After you are off the poisons for a while, they don't seem as appealing.
My husband was diagnosed with a boat load of mercury intoxication a few years ago, plus other metals, (amalgam being one, and he used to consumed quite a bit of tuna, etc.), he is an American, he has been doing an IV detox for about 1 1/2 years. It's slowly being removed, thank goodness. Now that he is on the other side of the world, here we don't eat much of tuna, or any bigger fish.. 🤞 Sardines are one of my favorites, among other smaller local fish. Thanks Dr. Berg for this video.
i wish i knew this before today. now that i'm recalling every time i had tuna before, i remember each time i ate it i ended up ejecting it. i never subjected the nausea to tuna, but now i know the reason. thank you
Thank you for your help everything including keto life changing along with fasting especially longer fasts. By the way your skin healthy glow visually shows keto results. 🥰
I started keto a few months ago as a mostly vegetarian. So I added eggs, cheese, more olive oil. My skin has been one of the biggest, immediate results.
My success story is when u found u ... I love all your videos cause you teach me how to take care of myself better because I am a high risk diabetic and kind of not understanding sometimes . Like when to eat how much and how late I should eat and how to fast . Thank u ❤️
Greetings from the UK. I started dieting 1st. Feb by starving myself but lost a stone very miserably. I discovered Dr Berg during March and have lost three more stone and have hardly ever been hungry and I have eaten my favourite foods. My weight has been stable since June, I feel great, look a lot better and for the first time in my life I have confidence in my ability to keep the weight off. You are my hero Dr. Berg, thank you and thank you Keto.

This channel along with the othe doctor that has a very similar last name which I'm sure lots of you guys know of, helped me drop 25+ lbs, My sleep is just awsome, My bloating is gone, my chronic sinusitis that specialist recommended surgery for is gone. I feel so much better. I'm very thankful to these guys. Edit: I do plastering, I lso noticed my wrist and fingers don't hurt anymore when I have to put pressure on my tools.
There is a good amount of studies available on how the use of statins negatively affect N Glycosylation, SOD in the neuronal cell membranes, and dolichol phosphate, which are essential for protein folding. The fact that these 3 processes are significantly affected by the use of statins makes them very dangerous.
If you get canned tuna and it says “tuna in water” make sure you read the labels as it always isn’t the case. Some cans of Tuna clearly state water but there is vegetable broth if you read the can! Just a tip !
Your videos are awesome!!! Great information. Curious where you get your information? How do you know so much about this stuff. 🤷♀️?? Thank you for putting out such helpful information I have learned so much from you!!
I think we all need to be detectives in food and supplements (vitamins, supplements, minerals, etc…). Goodness, even in seemingly good quality brand of tuna a friend had given me it’s got Yellowfin Tuna 🤦🏻♀️. Thank you Dr Berg, I had no idea 🤷🏻♀️.
My husband's a fisherman and he fishes down in the straits of Juan de fuca in Washington st, I just can't a bunch of tuna it's $4 a pound right now it will get you about 12 quarts, and really people if you buy your tuna fresh you're going to like it so much more and it's not hard to can at all, just stuff the fish and your pint jars put your lids on them give them a pressure cooker bath for 1 hour and a half, that's it you don't have to add anything to it sometimes I put garlic in 😊
Did I understand that selenium is a kind of antidote to high mercury. . If not, what substance gets mercury out of your system? I LOVE yellowfin tuna in olive oil... the so-called "light" tuna are more like flakes, not satisfying at all. Having said that, is there a test for mercury toxicity?
It is difficult to get your head around all this information.. Especially when you have 30+ Tuna Tins shocked up 🙈🙈.. nutritional information takes so much time and so much research to find the right single product. Here in the UK we have a fish brand called John west .. Would you know if this brand is any better? And would a label of RSPCA animal safety make a product any better. And would rinsing the fish under water make any difference.. Much appreciated Dr Berg always a pleasure to see your notifications.
Eating it with selenium rich foods would solve the problem. For example nutritional yeast is one of the richest source of selenium. Brazil nuts also. One could make a sauce with those.
Thank you so much Dr. Berg. Your videos have changed the way I look at my health.. I've been looking into moringa as a supplement. Have you done a video on it?
@@dianasolfest4052 I buy skinless/boneless/wild caught only. King Oscar Sardines in olive oil. I don’t use most the oil but it taste good with some. Season brand in water. I also get Crown Prince Kippered Herring Filet. It’s very good with avo Mayo. All of these are good, very budget friendly, I get them at Walmart and stay stocked up. I eat 1 sometimes 2 a day. No weird preservatives for now. Always check foods for changes. I’m very sensitive to additives and these are safe for me. I make hubby “tuna salad” with canned salmon & sardines, sometimes chicken. AvoMayo, seasonings, chopped egg. He has no idea it has sardines. He loves it! 🤓
@Bread Sandwich I remember seein a program 30yrs back sayin that each time ya chew, a little gas of mercury is let off, and they showed this person havin all the amalgams pulled out and replaced with the white stuff...Everyone has different responses to each chemical..so even though I am not affected does not mean others are not as well...Hope everthin goes good for ya,,,good luck
Oh my!! I was loving yellow fin, but switched to light because of price with the prices soaring! I guess I'm going to love my chicken of the sea now!! Thanks for your great 'pearls of wisdom'❣
Hi Dr, Berg, I've been watching your videos for a few months. You have a lot of great information and advice. I am 60yo and just learned that my mercury filling are the root cause of my weight gain. I would love to see some videos about helping people learn about this and what to do. Also, my mother worked at the NV test site for 30 years and was pregnant with me, I also just learned that I may have Uranium in my system, but I don't know how to test for this or if it even matters. Please, there are a lot of people in the one or both of these situations that have been suffering like me for years with no clue what to do. Can you provide any answers. Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
Do all tuna/sardines/salmon cans contain mercury? But lesser in ones more in others? Meaning there's no escape from mercury!! Btw, doctor I'm a big fan really.
So I'm on a Tuna diet and trying to eat it daily because it's the only fish I like and I miss it if I skip a day, wow I'm sad. I will add some selenium to my diet now.
I got back from the supermarket about an hour and a half ago where I bought four cans of yellowfin tuna! Frankly, I never heard of skipjack. But while we're on the subject, what about sardines?
Hi! I'll link a couple of Dr. Berg's videos that you may want to check out: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KppqsVXb_2c.html ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-yODIiCvi0NY.html Hope these help! Dr. Berg's Support Team.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge! I find your videos very easy to follow and full of knowledge. I took an Herbology course back in the 1995 and everything you teach just confirms and expands beautifully on what I had learned. Knowledge is power and I know you are helping so many people on a daily basis! Do you see patients - make appointments etc?
My understanding is that skipjack reproduce quicker and have shorter lifespans thus less time to take in toxins like mercury and others. So the older fish = more accumulation. I do like the Wild Planet brand, the taste to me is much better than say Starkist or Chicken of the Sea.
I don’t buy any tuna since the turn of the century. A relative of mine had her son treated by Gary Null for Mercury poisoning from fish. The kid was 12 years old. This family would eat fish 5 times a week. Now Mercury free and healthy.
Dr. Berg thank you so much! Would you consider video on ch-elating heavy metals out of body and a video on people taking hydrocortisone for Addison's' disease, and is there anything to replace this drug or lesson it or off set the side effects of taking it? I am on many of your supplements love the electrolytes and wheat grass !! Please comment thanks
Only tuna I ever eat is sushi or in a Poke bowl which is also raw sashimi tuna, albacore or yellowtail but that's less than once a week so I'm not worried. I do love canned sardines or mackerel but detest canned tuna.
Could you make a video on HSP 'Highly Sensitive People' why we so sensitive about everything. There's isn't any information on that , I wonder if it's its about hormones or vitamins...
HELP hey Dr Berg, can you do a video on scar tissue & Active Release Technique (ART) adhesions. i have terrible pain everyday that makes life excruciating and very miserable. Love your work!
Athese are the best videos to help keep updated and healthy. I am so great full forthem. God bless you Dr Berg and your wife Karen . She has the mos beautiful smile . I love her also
Hi Dr Berg, at just over 1.00 in you say canned light tuna is a good option then afterwards say it's one to avoid, have I misunderstood it? Great work 🙂
I eat tuna only from cans, and only under duress. If I have any choice at all, I'd eat a stick of butter first. My fish is always either salmon, caught in the White River, or bluegill, taken from the lake. But fresh fish is seasonal, even salmon, until we are eating smoked salmon once the frozen is gone, usually just before the ice breaks, hunting season is over, and I'm contemplating the sorry facsimile fish in a can.
Your work is extraordinary and our family is so grateful for the high quality of advice you are sharing! Bless you Dr.Berg sending you lots of love, new insights and God protect you in all manners at times and in all places 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻❤️❤️🌟✨✨✨☀️☀️
Dr berg I live in building where we have lead paint. I started using some of the herbs already a lot of my symptoms are less.starting to feel better 2:10
Just checked my tuna can. It said skipjack. Onigiri with tuna and mayo is so good, but I do consume it rarely. Once I ate a whole can and I threw up, it was too much lol
Great info and video like always! As someone who really like the convenience and affordability of tuna I really want to know if the 2 times a week guideline is absolutely best or if it is not so bad having it more often. Really interested in the interaction between selenium and mercury. Is it true all the warnings about mercury don't really take into account natural selenium in fish too? And if you are eating selenium rich diets, (like one brazil nut packs in a ton) , is it protective enough or are negative effects still outweighing positive.?
Negative effects outweigh the potential benefits of selenium. Mercury is a serious heavy metal. That being said I was eating canned Tuna every day for like a year when I was in high school athletics. I'm fine. 2-3 times a week seems good. If you want more fish... Go for sardines, incredibly low in mercury and actually more nutritious than canned tuna. If you have the big bucks... Canned salmon is also lower in mercury compared to tuna.
@@johnnopeyy4129 I've been eating tuna daily for almost a year now. I feel fine. Regular checkups are fine. Whatever the side effects may be, I haven't felt them as of yet 🤷♂️
