I worked in the salmon farming industry for 8 years or so when it first started on the East Coast of Canada. They don't use dye to color the meat. It is the krill and small crustaceans that give it the pink flesh. I think salmon should be on the toxic food list. They have been pumped full of drugs to combat disease and viruses that the actual act of farm fishing created. I don't think the wild caught salmon are much better. I can taste the difference.

This is why I love the videos from Dr Sten Ekberg! He doesn't stop at the grotesquely simplified one-liners you often hear like "Eat more fish because it's good for you!!" or "Limit fish because the mercury in it is poisoning you!" Instead, he digs deeper and gives us the knowledge required to keep ourselves healthier. 👍🙂

But a hundred and fifty years of pumping mercury and other heavy metal compounds into the ocean from industrial production and fabrication plus over 150 nuclear detonations and mishaps probably did. I'm not one of those environmentalists nuts or believe the world will end in 13 years because of climate change because that is a totally different story and completely false. Those behind the pollution are the industrialists, the moguls, royalty, the robber barons, the authorities. I am sick and tired of people saying “we” like war, like destruction etc. It isn’t we. It is just a few sick twisted people at the top. If you don’t define who they are, then the next thing you will be doing, is blaming the population for lets say, climate change.

Hello Dr. Ekberg . . . great info here. However, I'd like to point out the distinctly different characteristics of the Albacore Tuna. When people say 'tuna', they often think of the very large and sought after Bluefin and Yellowfin tuna you see on tv shows. The Albacore tuna is a very sustainable species that we fish for commercially and recreationally on the West Coast of the US (Primarily north) and typically only catch juveniles that are between 8-30 lbs. Low mercury and young age.

Thank you. There literally is an agenda to keep Bluefin and Yellowfin away from the masses. I've never heard of anyone dying from eating to much of it or even having it as part of a steady diet. Lots of propaganda out there to guide the customer to what THEY want to feed you rather than what is actually good to eat! There's a reason why Bluefin is so massively expensive. If you've ever had Bluefin nigiri/shashimi (Toro) you know.

I grew up eating sardines a lot with the instilled mindset that it’s the food for the poor. That’s the most easily available & one of the cheapest from the original country where I came from. Now in North America, I was delighted to know that sardines is one of best fishes to eat. Thanks for sharing this video Dr. Ekberg.
