Metabo! Please work on your build quality issues with the Chinese tools! 

I wanna adventure out from only DEWALT to metabo but sucks they are almost impossible to order in the US I really want a crosscut setup with the track and the cordless vac

I've been using regular Diablo blades on my Makita and flipping the flange. It moves off the splinter guard by nearly 1/32. I always cut top veneer on cross grain plywood first with a scribe knife, and bevel on 15° on solid wood. Always touch up the edge with a sanding sponge. So many nails in my cut zone, so this has been my cheat sheet to save money on blades. In a perfect world splinter guard would always bear against any blade.

I just checked it out few minutes ago, I have no play on the blade at at Metabo KT 18. But I have play if i work with the Metabo on the Bosch/Mafell rail. I can not adjust it that much. It is a well known problem at Metabo. I talked with the support about this issue. I am really disappointed. "I'm surprised with the build quality issues and lack of thought on a few pieces of equipment specifically the ones that come from China. it's strange that these issues are happening with this type of a saw especially at the price point." You are absolutly right!!! Me to. The Metabo Track Saw is technically very nice. Same as good as the Festool TS and the Mafell. But the built quality/processing quality is bad. There are burrs on the machine and gap dimensions between the battery and the machine housing. I don't like it at all. If I grap the TS 55 it is a total different feeling. Even if I grap the Bosch Tracksaw. But there are 3 things wich I really like at the Metabo. 1. A lot of power with the 8 Ah battery. I cut through 60mm birch plywood. 2. The tilt adjustment. Much better than the Festool TS 55 or the Bosch GKT 55 3. The rail connecter. Same as Bosch/Mafell. Thanks for sharing your experience. It is good to see that I am not alone with this. But please film your videos in the landscape format. It is more comfortable to watch.

Thanks for that, by the way have you had the chance to test this circular saw vs the its previous version (ks18ltx57)? I own the previous version but not happy with its power at all, it even struggles with 90x45 pine.. just thinking to buy this new version

Bought Metabo KS 55 FS and after only few cuts in 10 mm MDF the blade starts to wobble about 1 mm.

I own ks18 ltx and it has flex in blade and it’s flexing in whole chassis creating few degree bevel mostly noticeable on max deep of the saw. I spend hours trying adjusting with little luck. Unfortunately I’m in metabo ltx family and need accept limitations.

Damn I was going to get the mafell saw, I have metabo track saw, but I don’t want to keep changing out splinter guard. So I have to get separate track?

Thanks for that it's hard to find much on these two saws that's not in German or Russian. I saw a short 10 or 15 second clip where the guy had the soft flipped over and was moving the blade back and forth and he said two Mills

i`m have issues when i cut on 45deg. on 20mm MDF ON a track. and the blade bends so my cuts get messed up. this is on the Metabo KT 18 LTX 66 BL.

Bought the KS 18 LTX 57 and threw it in trash shortly thereafter.

i had massive play in lightly used metabo ks 55 fs, its because the reduction gear housing is made out of plastic, clam shell clamped together, i replaced all bearings for brand new, but the bearing housing is worn out because its soft plastic the competitors have reduction gear housing usually made of die cast aluminium, thats why metabo sucks

Metabo is junk. I have theks18ltx57 hand held circular saw - and while I did use it quite a bit, first thing I noticed the blade/engine is not really mounted properly to the base plate, meaning there is play if you do put pressure on the handle (bevels the blade)- so I almost have to push it outward while cutting. Which does give me perfect 90 degree cuts, but I mean this sort of thing is a no brainer. Rip cuts, fries the brushes way to easily, I mean this saw is supposed to be able to cut 2" material. Cant even do 2 meters without it steaming. You get what you pay for I suppose. What I am happy about however, is the CAS battery system, I will make sure to invest in some Mafell tools. Met a guy that had the KSS 50 - ufff what a saw, really nice! I had a look at the KSS40 18V - I know it comes standard with the flex rail thing - whats your experience using the stiff rails with this saw? Bevels and everything ok?
