I must've watched this 50+ times from the Game Informer mags that would come w/ demo discs. I beat my little brother up when he scrwtched the disc and it wouldn't load lol.
Ever since I was a little kid, I still remember that ending with the music slowly ramping up, and REX's foot stomping on the camera. It's as vivid to me as my first fireworks show, and 9/11. You've done this to me, Kojima. You've imprinted yourself in my memories.
When this video was uploaded. Metal gear solid 1 was only 9 years old. Think about that. And playing mgs3 thinking mgs1 was decades ago.... that itself was 6 years ago with mgs3. Our minds thought with the graphics and our time span thinking a year was a decade ago. Graphics was quickly advancing at a rapid speed. And we saw it as like the everyday theme. Happy to been apart of it.
MGS is the best videogame saga ever. Nothing even comes close. I remember the hype for this game, I sold my Nintendo 64 back then and bought a PS1 just for this game. Thank you Hideo Kojima
i think you're the only kid here, anyone old enough to have got the ps1 in the early days will remember this video from the demo and the music. It was a monumental game.
Wow. I'm right back there. I see my friends and I watching this over and over. One of them is no longer with us, so thank you, uploader, for helping me remember him.
I remember this trailer so well. It was in my official playstation magazine demo disc. I was very excited after watching and was in outer heaven when a playable demo was finally released.
This was a game-changer ... yes, the sequels have advanced graphics etc., but not even those can compare to the feeling we all got when we played and finished the 1st MGS.
I remember seeing just a fraction of the trailer showing the Metal Gear at a Electronic Boutique on one of their big screens hanging from the ceiling and just happen to catch the name of the game. But I think I might have bought the game right then and there because of that trailer and the unassuming box art. All white background with embossed reflective red lettering. It screamed badass. I was excited about the robot not knowing it was a stealth game at all.
Heh, I still have the demo disk that was shipped with this trailer on it. I was enthralled by it, bought the game some months later, and never looked back. Best game ever created.
First Metal Gear Solid game I played. I remember playing this on the PS1 demo disc when I was l like 10. It's sad I never beat MGS1 only 2 and 3 back then. I didn't have a memory card for ps1 until now I have a PS3 and immediately downloaded this. I officially completed this game and now I'm on MGS4. I'm waiting for MGS5 to come out :).
One of the worst things I did on this game: Knocking a guard unconcious, placing a c4 under him, waiting for another guard to bend over him and detonating. I could have just used dead bodies but no I decided to use living, sleeping, vunerable guards as bait for my sadistic traps.
Here's something I don't understand: A lot of Anime fans like Japanese with english subtitles, but I have never seen japanese on a game with english subtitles (i'm sure it exists, I just never seen anyone have preference over english).
I known it has been a moth since the last comment. Can someone tell me if the scene at the beginning of the trailer where it shows the character profiles is in the American Version of the game. I have played this game a million times and could never figure out where that part is in the game. This question has been bothering me for over 10 years.
thenutkracker I know this was posted 8 years ago...haha..but It might have been part of the "briefing " segments separate from the main campaign in the menu.
no they won't do that reason cuase the tech used on it is to old tech thats no longer being used they would have to remake the entire game from step one
they will never make this game for current gaming systems the way this game was build is to old its impossible to make a hd version they will literally have to make it over from scratch
sry im not trying to start an argument ik they did it with other games but thats cuase they werent design in that look down on your head way forgot what thats called the ones they remade hd was 3rd person or 1st person mgs 2 and the others were remade hd but not 1 n i was dissaponted but i see why though
