I love how the music feels like a callback to when Grey Fox and Solid Snake fought in Zanzibarland with the whistle and drums typically representing jungle environments. It's like the music is clueing you in on who it is (assuming you're one of the few people who played Metal Gear 2 before Solid).
thats an epic observation! I didn't think about why they chose this weird tribal yet electronic form of music piece! But now that you mentioned it, its actually true! Man you're a genius Cody :D
Honestly, I wish I was born before that time. I can’t call myself an OG Metal Gear fan, but I wish I could’ve experienced these games since their birth.
You know I wonder if anyone who'd played MG2 Solid Snake before MGS1 thought that the Cyborg Ninja may have been Kyle Schneider, the Black Ninja that Solid Snake faced in Zanzibarland
You nailed it! It's a fusion of who he was and what he was turned into. Frank Jager was truly one of the most tragic figures in this series that doesn't get mentioned enough.
"Snake, we're not tools of the government or anyone else. Fighting was the only thing... the ONLY thing I was ever good at... but at least I always fought for what I believed in!" That seen gives me goosebumps everytime!
@@COBushido89 Imo the overall soundtrack was better in original(cavern theme, encounter theme, escape theme, these were superior in original) but one thing that twin snakes does better is that each boss has its own theme instead of all being just encounter themes. Especially gray fox and psycho mantis boss themes were perfectly fitting.
After reading some comments on here I believe most people don't realize or understand that Grey Fox is an anti hero, he wants to challenge Snake, he wants to feel alive after being killed, so he'll take a punch from Snake, the man who killed him but will dodge a bullet, which his armor is bullet proof so it's more of a show of force and ability. a .45 ACP round that Snake uses in his MK25 travels 800 fps...or 525 MPH, so Grey Fox could of killed Snake at anytime in the blink of an eye. But doesn't.
Loco Caballo I was unaware that gray foxes armor was bulletproof why does he keep deflecting bullets with a sword I would really like to know why he keeps dodging bullets and he's jumping around like he's on the moon why doesn't snake just say get back here you fuck nut
As much as most people complain about Twin Snakes at least they added boss themes to very boss instead of the MGS theme playing for every one. Also made more sense to the hallway scene actually seeing Gray Fox attacking the soliders and all the other extra story scenes
Gray: Fox: ni enemigo ni amigo, vengo de un mundo donde dichas palabras no tienen sentido.....SNAKE!!! he venido desde el otro lado para pelear contigo
+Immoral Timothy i now also Venrahk is my original acount until someone hacked my Facebook acount and I can't remember my password so I'm now Rhythm Jack.
you know where i can found the music it sound at the background when snake start to talk with Kenneth Baker after the fight with Ocelot pls? i tried to found and nothing, well thank you and good luck
I found his death to be absolutely CRIMINAL. He could've had his own game, an mgr spinoff set after mgs2 but before mgs4 and he'd meet up with raiden. Then he'd show up in an mgr3 as a final boss that raiden is ordered to eliminate and he feels conflicted the same way naked snake felt when it came time to fight the boss.
@@JohnLover1179agreed,they could make it take place just over his life and we could get to play as null, and then the fight against him and snake in mg2
I will say when I first played Metal Gear Solid the twin Snakes I was very impressive by this theme song and I could not get it out of my head for the longest time and I'm glad I didn't this remake is amazing and I actually have the Remake on GameCube and I'm never getting rid of it one other thing Rob Paulsen who did gray foxes voice I was unaware that he did Raphael's voice in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles the old cartoon what are the f****** odds of that
@trebekalex - But you also must remember that Hayabusa is a ninja, and in hand-to-hand, it would still be close. Hayabusa also is most likely as swift as Gray Fox, and personally, the only edge Gray Fox has over Hayabusa is the ability to cloak, and his armor.
G.Fox: "Hurt me snake!" Me: O.O G.Fox: "Hurt me more!" Me: oh god Starts playing a weird chanting song. G.fox then does a flip kick at me, I then realise shit just got real.
I've been, "studying" Grey Fox for a long time. No matter what, he remains a legend in my heart. This badass is so much better then Raiden. Have you seen the ad for MGS: Revengeance? It's cheesy to say, and just another game we're going to forget about a year later. Screw Raiden, Grey Fox kicks ass.
@@twilight7721 I was 15 and edgy when I made this comment. It did age poorly. I think I was easily influenced and just liked to draw Grey Fox. Grey Fox also seemed to have better conviction than Raiden, despite being an absolute psycho. Though, MGS2 might be my favorite game of the series next to mgs1.
@@rexviperfan Not gonna lie I fully didn't expect you to respond thats so cool. I'm currently fifteen so its really need to see someones experience with the series at the same age. Not judging at all though that s fully valid opinion, gray foxes story is for sure a lot more fleshed out throughout the series and is definitely a badass character
Looking back at it all, MGS PO and MGS PW is where series really took a dive. Still amazing games (MGSV included) but they are not even close to MGS 1-4, which are simply something else entirely in terms of their story and emotions they produce.
Peace Walker's story is exactly as phenomenal imo, but the gameplay was severely damaged by the PSP. It's cool for a portable game, and it's awesome they actually put thought into the little "aight let's make one of those for the handheld thing" game, but it just ends up making you wish it was an actual sequel. The comic book cutscenes were also pretty cool and a great way to get around the graphical limitations but i still just kinda end up wishing it was just a sequel to snake eater on the PS2/3. I personally thought MGSV was utter garbage and probably the worst game i ever played and never even finished it. Only the first Ground Zeroes felt like MGS to me and it felt like PW, the *worst* in the solid games in gameplay. Not horrible, but still the worst! Didn't get better from there. Story and plot was awful. Outer Heaven exploded? You're the diamond dogs now? Then why are you called OH in MG1?? She had *TWO* bombs in her??? Sure buddy.
"Snake we're not tools of the government or anyone else! Fighting was the only thing. The only thing I was ever good at.. but at least I fought for what I believed in... Snake, Farewell." - Gray Fox
@Mr27s When the first Metal Gear came to America, it came with major changes from the version in Japan. That one was officially for America. The second one, however, was only in Japan until MGS 3 Subsistence came out here in America. The unofficial game you're thinking of is called "Snake's Revenge". That was in no shape or form made by Kojima. So while Japan had the real sequel, we had a non-canon sequel of our own . Hope this helped.
(Just to clarify, I used Gray Fox's line from the game where, should you attack with a weapon, he says: "Pathetic! The old Solid Snake would never use a weapon like that!" I did not mean to trash talk. If I sounded like that, I apologise in advance)
I just finished the series for the first time, my dad got that classic PlayStation thing that came with all their best selling games, it had some amazing titles and his personal favorites were final fantasy 7 which personally I’m not that big of a fan of and then what caught my eye was metal gear solid, I tried it and was having a fucking blast I got up to the part we’re you have to use night vision goggles or snakes cigarettes to see the laser things to get through the door to ravens boss fight but I would never get past that as the PlayStation was unfortunately lost and I would never be able to finish the game. Fast forward till I’m 18 and I get my first job as a dishwasher and I meet a coworker who is a die hard metal gear fan and encourages me to pick up the series again. I pick up a PS3 which is the only console that is capable of play every metal gear game from metal gear to rising revengence. During this time a got an Xbox and played rising revengence cause I remembered I like MGS1 but never finished and I just kept seeing the memes everywhere and I was like “fuck it” and I absolutely loved it literally beat it again all over again immediately after finishing it 😂, anyways I picked up my ps3 and when I arrived I was so incredibly enthusiastic, picked up a sealed copy of the legacy collection and got to work over the course of a 6 months I played nothing else and am absolutely fascinated by the franchise. I fell in love with it. It funny honestly. I started playing the franchise when I became a teenager and to now to have finished the series while also wrapping up my childhood and transitioning into an adult it’s weirdly poetic. I’ve already decided MGS3 my personal favorite will be the first game I’ve ever 100% completed. My dad isn’t as interested in the games as I am but god fucking damn it hold a special place in my heart. I’m sad there won’t be anymore but at the same time am glad and thankful the series ended on a high note, finished the story, and isn’t being milked for all it’s worth unlike some other franchises like halo, Pokémon, and call of duty other games a grew up with seeing deteriorate and die. This series is beautiful and would recommend it to anyone who curious about the franchise
I hate how people forgot the fact that they're friends and gray fox is Actually letting snake punch him,, " hurt me more" ,, obviously he wants to be hit
i love the nerd rage that goes on here on youtube. makes me glad i barely comment on the videos i watch because im actually spending time WATCHING the videos instead of talking crap about other people.
EMP is I believe what you're looking for. Electro Magnetic Pulse. Causes a short circuit but that all depends on the sophistication of a nanite. If they have capacitors that hold enough juice to balance the flow it could resist the pulse. After all a computer works similarly with the power supply acting to save a motherboard in a power outage.
It would be awesome if they would make a game in which you could get to play as Grey Fox. At least for a short time... With all the acrobatic abilities and the stealth camo, and stuff like that. That would be totally badass.
Gray Fox, otherwise known as Frank Jager, first appeared in Metal Gear and then Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, this was back when it was on MSX2. These are set after the events of Snake Eater, Portable Ops, Peace Walker and Ground Zeroes, but are set before the events of Metal Gear Solid, Sons of Liberty, Guns of The Patriots and Metal Gear Rising. So there you go. The prequel you want is actually the first game.
"Snake.. we're not tools of the government, or anyone else... Fighting was the only thing, the only thing I was good at. But, atleast I always fought for what I believed in..."
you can. There's a certain part in the Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions, you can play 3 levels as him. 1: take out 15 wooden targets, 2: Kill 30 enemy soldiers, 3: Kill Snake without getting spotted
A lot of things in MGS2 were similar to MGS, as part of a perfect Shadow Moses simulation. Could the begging for pain of Grey Fox be similar to Fortunes begging for death?
This Game changed my life BTW. dude can u put a download link cuz i cant find this song i have all the OSTs of all MGS but i dont have this song on them thx :)
