Consistency is the biggest problem with all the "big" metal news sites. Lots of half-assed thinking and stances. They so badly wanna appeal to everybody and often end up not really appealing to anyone.
I have the last Dying Truth vinyl press from the crypt absolutely Killer mix!!! Sounds great on wax! Cenotaph (MEX) 2xLP Reissue also with the amazing demos
Metal archives were always more of the left hand side of views. Hell they did 4 years of bashing Trump but when anyone says anything about Biden they automatically remove the thread. When anyone mentions a forbidden band just even as a discussion about their recent album someone has to jump in with “those nazis” instead of staying on topic. After awhile it’s just little kids fighting over what’s the best breakfast cereal. So let me try my question again from a previous video, what annoying things have you heard scream out at bands during their set? It’s always terrible that you have that one person that has to yell out “freebird” at every show I go to even underground ones. One time I was at a show and some fuckwad kept yelling between song breaks “play that new one that goes arghhhh baaaa”. The drummer finally had enough of his shenanigans and threw a drumstick at his Beer and made the cup of beer spill on himself.
16:58 I once got to see the mighty Incantation here in Peoria, IL with 5 other dedicated death-heads back in 1998. Locals Waco Jesus and Lividity opened and Defiled from Japan also played (touring with Incantation). Incantation showed up 2 hours late after some van issues but eventually arrived, began setting up, and played as scheduled. Kyle Severn was on drums and Rob Yench (Morpheus Descends) was on bass. There was no stage and I stood literally 3 feet in front of John McEntee (wielding his BC Rich Mockingbird) and the few but lucky attendees got an amazing and intimate performance from a legendary band in the 'Diabolical Conquest' era. There were 2 fog machines going and eventually all you could see was 4 shadowy figures headbanging in nihilistic bliss...the bright white fog enveloped the entire small venue (Tiamat Records) and added a surreal atmosphere to the set. I was only 15 years old then and will never forget it...that set was so powerful and proved that death metal can be the ultimate musical expression amongst all genres. The musical intensity and surreal vision of the shadowed members literally expanded my artistic consciousness (such a brutal and formidable performance... yet strangely a profound and meditative ritual). I'm actually grateful that the attendance was low because that show proved that it's not the size of the crowd but how good the band is. That's why death metal has survived all these years...The few, the proud, the brutal!!
@@vesuviacorpseflower4828 Always been rabid Morbid Angel fan seen them many times, but I avoided them completely during their second stretch with Dave, hated that line-up and THAT album.
@@abbysimmons3258 I've seen Morbid Angel 4 times 2001, 2005, 2006, 2018 (the 2006 show with Dave was actually pretty insane...they basically played the entire 'Entangled In Chaos' 1996 live album set!!) The 2001 show they opened for Pantera which was cool...and the 2005 show was with Satyricon and Suffocation opening (that was an insane show also!!). In 2018 I went specifically went to watch Trey play that awesome 'spiraling finger-tapping lead' in 'Summoning Redemption' (one of my all-time favorite leads). Those guys are top-notch players (Steve Tucker doesn't get enough credit...that dude is an impressive front man). -Devon
I saw the Corchado fronted lineup with Morbid Angel and Vader in June of 98. We went to the Waffle House after the show and there sat Rob Yench, Kyle, and Daniel. We hung out with them and Kyle wanted my Gardens of Grief shirt and offered to trade. We walked out to their trailer they were pulling and he gave me a long sleeve Diabolical Conqust.
Yo J-Dawg, no question today. Just wanted to let you know the Sound of Rancid Juices... vinyl came in and looks and sounds awesome. Appreciate y'all giving LDoH the treatment they deserve. Fuckin' classic grind.
LOL That's *great* I never knew your sales spiked after MetalSucks talked shit about you! It's not really up for debate MetalSucks is just about the worst metal on the internet. I've read some of the garbage posted on their site, it's nothing but an online rumor-mill and clickbait magnet. I swore off that site for good earlier this year, not that I ever visited often to begin with. They apparently consider Ted Nugent (a total badass) "metal" because he's probably their all-time favorite target to smear, shit on, and lie about over there. A w-o-r-t-h-l-e-s-s site and a total waste of time, period. In fact they suck even worse then Blabbermouth does and I didn't think that was possible, with such gripping news items as Corey Taylor's dental appointment and countless other non-stories. But in Blabbermouth's defense they occasionally deliver some instant classics, such as when the drummer from the band Diecast quit the band "over an argument about Brendan Fraser's acting abilities". Still my favorite.
I only knew those reeeetards from when they were doing a smear piece on Absu when the new guitarist pulled a Jenner on them. Of course they got completely ratioed in the comments. bunch of cry bully dweebs.
No such thing as bad publicity, I’m glad HHR sold more thanks to them , they thought they can destroy real metal, but they were basically advertising lol that’s like in the El Duce from the Mentors, his records sold more thanks to protesters/activist/crybaby parents
3 replies, but only 1 displayed LOLOL I guess I'm being "looked over" by RU-vid, they must have thought the replies were too salty for little old me and my delicate little feelings, but actually it's the negative posts that are the most entertaining.
I have that Mortician/Fleshgrind live split, Living Dead. That was my introduction to HHR. Soon after, the double LP versions of Hacked Up for Barbecue and Fearless Undead Machines came out and I snagged those as soon as I heard about them. So J-Dawg, I have asked this a few times, but you never got to it, so here it is again: what happened with the DVD of the 3rd Headbash and the double LP release of the HHR comp 8 (the one with the Fallen Angel of Doom tribute cover). I dug the DVDs for the first two Headbash shows and the other double LP versions of the comps. Maybe I missed them, but I never saw anything about them coming out.
It's not that people care about the album. People want to see how J-DAWG reacts to it. People want to see you react to Baby Metal, Soulfly, all types of goofy shit just to see YOUR reaction.
Hey J-Dawg goddamnit!! QUESTION 1 - Do you think it's cool or not bands who rep themselves wearing their own band shirts on stage/in photos? I sometimes think it's a little silly but at times it makes sense, some get away with it more than others like for example it works well for Midnight. QUESTION 2 - Which band or members of bands do you get pissed off someone ragging on where you almost want to fight? For example I get so angry when anyone rags on Ozzy!!! Cheers!!
J-Dawg and associated devils (e.g., corpseflower, Dinkins, etc.), what is your opinion on Frozen Soul's Crypt of Ice. Was looking at the Metal Archives reviews the other day. They seem to draw polarizing opinions from the metal reviewing community.
Hey J dawg I was going to ask about Erik case after that accusation, whatever happen? Did everything get dropped? Thank you for the upload everyday, it makes my mornings.
What's up J Dawg! What do you think about thrash in the past 20 years or so? I was born in 94 so I missed it it in its prime and prefer the old German and Canadian stuff to American bands. I feel like most newer thrash bands suck fucking ass which is disappointing cuz when it's done right its my favorite. I love stuff like Deathhammer, Nekromantheon, Hellbringer, etc but do you know of any other good modern thrash that isn't pizza thrash dogshit? Thanks man
Sup J-Dawg. If you had to guess, what are a few albums that have been released in the past 10 years (2012 onward), that you think will be regarded as classics in the future?
Hey J-Dawg. As a german I would like to hear your opinion about two of the best bodybuilders Germany ever produced Markus Rühl(The german beast) and Günter Schlierkamp?? Cheers.
You can turn that off when you move your phone. It's some setting. My old lady had to help me with it. Picked up the Viogression demos check it out if you haven't. J - Dawg you like open air festivals?
Do you have a Dunbar's number for bands, as in have you listened to so many metal bands that you don't even have room in your brain to discover new ones?
@@dinkins335 Yeah I have mixed feelings about discovering new bands. I love RU-vid channels like J Dawgs where there will be a lot of good recommendations by him and commentors, but at the same time I don't wanna forget some essential bands to make room.
J-Dawg, what did you think of the "side show exhibition" at the beginning of Autopsy's set at the Maryland Deathfest this year? The Baltimore Sun described it as oral (i.e., cunnilingus), but it looked more like a failed attempt at a golden shower to me, with a quick lick attempted...more importantly, I didn't get to go and there may not be another Maryland Deathfest...
If you won the big time lottery tomorrow, would you still continue Hells Headbangers? What fun, crazy thing would you do with the money? (Like a private Haemorrhage concert)
J Dawg Do you like Sargeist??? They are pretty similar to Satanic Warmaster. They were created by the original Guitarist from Horna as Im sure you already know. In not a fan of Horna after Shatterag left actually. There sound changed too much to me. Werwolf actually was in Horna to.
Who do you think is the most metal dude in the scene? I don’t mean like cringy, “YEAH BRO METAL 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻” types, I mean somebody who like eats, breathes, and sleeps metal. My votes are for fenriz and Katon Pena from hirax. Thoughts??
Personally, only listening to Metal doesn’t make you the most Metal. Having a diverse taste in music gives you a more intelligent taste in music. Also, there are Metal elements in other forms of music that you’d miss if you only listened to Metal. Just saying.
I listened to it once when they had Carcass on there. It was two douche canoes interviewing Bill Steer and Jeff Walker. I couldn’t even listen to the whole thing.
They are THE worst. I used to be down with them complete but they’ve all but gone full woke. That Blayne guy said the when he first heard of Antichrist Siege Machine he assumed they were White Nationalists because of their album title “Purifying Blade” so didn’t bother listening to it. What a douch canoe.
Babylon fell is the only good song on into the pandemonium , I saw the noise tour in 86 with frost and voivod another one of the best shows of my life, and saw them in 88 wipe the floor with anthrax, I have been to several low attended shows, but the one that I always think of was the krisiun angel corpse show in dallas in 2000 there was less then 10 people there
