Yes I agree. Those early Danzig albums are great. Initially I did not like them. I was more into The Misfits and Samhain. Over time I have learned to really appreciate those Danzig albums.
I know a guy who purposely wore a plain white shirt to a deicide show and he said glen got pissed off and stormed out of the venue but while getting thru the crowd he specifically shoved him haha probably because of the shirt hahaha
@@humanbrisket7718 Sounds like a fake story to me. Could be true I guess. I was at a show where someone yelled Jesus loves you and Glen flipped out screaming that Jesus does not love him. I think he reacted that way for the audience. He's pretty much abandoned presenting himself as a legitimate scary person now so I assume it was his act back then. He also calls himself a carny and admits his feud with Bob Larson was carny shit with a fellow carny and that they are kinda friends. Glen Benton has abandoned music kayfabe like wrestling did under Vince McMahon
QUESTION FOR THE HOMEBOY: Are you a fan of the old label Wild Rags Records? In the early days they released some important albums...Blasphemy, Impetigo, Hellwitch, Emperor demo, Nuclear Death and Sadistic Intent to name a few.
Dude the vocals on Altars and the vocals on Domination are done using completely different techniques, it’s like comparing Warrel Dane between sanctuary and nevermore. But yea the vocals on Altars are better, I don’t know why Vincent decided to do the deep vocals for later stuff. Following the trend maybe? Same thing happened we thanatos
?????????? Jdawg what do you think about the hardcore/ crossover thrash era of Corrosion of Conformity? I like the first album but that band posered it up big time. ?????????
@@octaviansmusiccorner ok they definitely looked like a gay ass alt rock band but the music didn’t change that much from Deliverance to Wiseblood. They were never trying to be a brutal kvlt band. So they weren’t really being posers. Plus in the arms of god was a good album after that. Just saying there’s a lot worse “rock” bands out there.
I love Danzig up to the 4th album. Surprised you don’t like at least 3 because that one has some Mercyful Fate influences however I can see the goth rock stuff not being you’re cup of tea. But I recommend the song “Godless” at least.
Unleashed kind of went Nu Metal in the late 1990s. Then they started copying either Amon Amarth or Arch Enemy ( maybe both) in the 2000s. They still had the original line up all the way up to Odalheim . I used to buy their new releases as they were released, as I did with Suffocation, Hypocrisy, Immolation, Deeds of Flesh, Hate Eternal, and Incantation. Incantation and Immolation remained fairly decent, but all the other bands that I mentioned have all started to suck around 2007 for various reasons. Suffocation's production became too clean, Deeds of Flesh went for a Neoclassical wankfest, but Hypocrisy and Unleashed not only suck because they went Melodic Death Metal, but they just stopped writing decent songs, and Hate Eternal really needs to slow down occasionally, all their songs sound alike
Imagine if cooks and chefs followed progression like musicians? Pepperoni would only have been a topping during the first few years of its existence and never to be repeated
@@dinkins335 I never learned either. I just play what I want to hear. Then I hope I like it. The hardest part of song writing. Is worrying what other people are going to think. Or constantly second guessing yourself. All you need is a verse and a chorus. Then maybe a bridge. As long as it flows together in a way you like. At least 4 other people will also like it. That’s my technique. I’m not saying I know shit about song writing. I’ve never sold an album. I’ve never been on an actual tour from any music I’ve written.
These guys saying that people are saying to them what they class as death metal, those are totally made up stories. We live in a world where nobody really cares about music anymore. Those conversations aren't happening I'm telling you. It's people sucking up knowing that J Dawg will read their comment out. And furthermore when did music become a sport?
Yeah mf see my shirts or hear my music and they hate it or have no clue. Usually they talk shit and proceed to tell me what they listen to is real music..and it's shit like radio rock or fuckin jungle jam ass rap
Always great to make the dawg laugh, to add to the story I've made sure to wear shirts from bigger bands aka deicide,CC suffo Sodom etc and he doesn't know any of em
I agree dawg i remember buying the how the gods kill tape and hearing that pretty in pink song “sistinas” and being cautious after that with Danzig albums
Can anyone remind what the Deicide sticker is again? Sorry if I’m doing a deer in the lights dick in the mouth moment but I can’t remember for the life of me.
I remember J-Dawg questioning whether or not Eric Andre was really into metal, because someone said that he wore a Mortician shirt. I'll leave this here.. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vsK_WcV2YA8.html 😆
I missed my opportunity, if you guys see a guy skating off the highway it’s a good chance it’s Chad Caruso! Hook him up with some water! He was in my city and almost got hit by a bus. If I would’ve crossed paths with him I had some water bottles bones bearing cleaner and a bag of oranges in my car but I didn’t see him
