@Human brisket seriously! Wear something you shouldn't in a gang hood, and you'll get gatekept by a coffin. They won't hurt your feelings. They'll kill you or put you on the hospital if you're lucky.
In my opinion Sam Dunn started the whole poser revival, they came out of every corner after that pooooooooooooser cheese fest Metal documentary he made.
If you're a guy saying this, obviously your opinion is irrelevant. Its the ladies views on this that matter. I know Karyn Crisis had some negative experiences as a female, and Rachel (RIP) from Damad said she had a different experience. Lets talk to Rachel from Sinister, Dana from Demonic Christ, and Oneiar from Bethelhem/DNS, its actually an interesting topic if you don't outright dismiss it like a jackass.
I do care if people wear metal shirts but don't like the band. Because that means they are a poser. And i dont like posers. They are not to be trusted because they are fake. I want underground metal artists to be able to sell their art, but to the real fans
@@KaaiHawaiianDeathMetal Happy PWH Month. I've celebrated by downloading Chris Benoit vs Dean Malenko, Dean Malenko vs Ultimo Dragon, Chris Benoit vs 2 Cold Scorpio, and Ultimo Dragon vs Rey Mysterio Jr. on my phone.
So much wrong with this video. I don’t even know where to start. The fact they bring bands like We Came As Romans or Bring Me The Horizon is enough to tell me their opinion doesn’t matter on this subject.
It's insane what most of the so-called metal journalism/media refers to as "metal" most of the bands that get covered are either some derivative of hardcore or pop-punk with some minimal metal influence, nu-metal, or the big classic rock/metal bands everyone's heard of.
yeah these nowadays "metal journalist/experts" are surely not like good old Laurent Ramadier (Snakepit Magazine), (especially the early 2000's angry) Metallion (Slayer Mag) or Costa Stoios (Iron Pegasus/Tales of The Macabre mag).
It's astonishing the shit that gets classified as metal nowadays. This is one of the many reasons why I don't talk about music to 99.9% of non-metal people. I can't stand it when I tell people that I listen to metal and their initial thought process is that I listen to Five Finger Death Punch and Motionless In White. Just recently a friend of mine who is not into metal at all whatsoever was talking to a coworker of hers about me and the kind of music that I like and the coworker asked her to ask me if I listen to Motionless In White. It's funny because she doesn't listen to metal at all whatsoever but has a basic understanding of the music that I listen to as she had bought me records from Blasphemy and Imprecation recently as a gift and even she had told her coworker that Motionless In White does not sound like the music that I listen and that my type of music is much wilder.
For real, I dress “metal” but I don’t even bring my music taste up at all to anyone outside of the scene to be honest, it spares me from all the headache inducing cringe
I was invited to a show revolver put on. It was unbelievably cringe. It was during the era where ex-indie rockers became obsessed with sludge music (extra points if the band had a female vocalist), had perfectly groomed beards and drank a lot of craft beer. I couldn’t understand why there was only one band on the bill until an editor of the magazine gave an announcement before they started that the show would be filmed and once they started no one could leave and reenter the venue because it wouldn’t look good on video. Essentially they organized this show to shoot a big video they could blast on social media outlets. It was one of the most contrived events I’ve ever been to. A bunch of the employees were there and can attest that they don’t like metal…. At least the type of metal that we discuss here.
Chris Garza actually mentioned hemorrhage in one of his recent podcast, coincidentally it wasn’t long after Jdawg’s video suspecting that him and Jasta don’t know hemorrhage 😂😂 he probably checked them out after being called out 😂 and he was wearing a skinless shirt the whole podcast lol. Pretty sure it was his sanguisugabogg interview
Garza was talking about a completely different Haemorrhage whose name is spelled Hemorage and is a new Thrash Metal band. Garza knows nothing of the real Haemorrhage from Spain.
Yo yo yo boy_ ooooo do any of you funky fresh metal heads get down with the brutality of i.c. pee pee's ? When it comes to clowning around there the heaviest \m/
I know this guy older then me that is in the scene for the chicks. He likes the run of the mill…. I see him at the store and guess what he is wearing, one of my bands shirts….go figure. I can’t say anything he probably got it from one of the other guys in the band but sometimes it’s a kick in the mouth when it comes to people wearing band shirts. Chapter 2…..
I gotta be honest, I started out with Metalcore and Deathcore in Late 2007. Outside of those 2 genres I think I knew Slayer and Black Label Society lol. In early 2013 my favorite band ever was Rings Of Saturn. Admittedly I still love them. BUT, in early 2013 they landed on a tour with Suffocation, Jungle Rot, and Exhumed. It was my first taste of Death Metal and I fell in love immediately. Just a few months later I went and saw Cannibal Corpse, Exhumed (again) with Dying Fetus, then Morbid Angel. I’m 36 and I know there’s a few people around my age group that started out with Metalcore and Deathcore then later got into stuff like Death Metal, Black Metal, Thrash, etc.. Better late than never!
Yeah I still have a lot of love for Deathcore. Rings Of Saturn is probably still in my Top 3 favorite bands of all time. I still love Infant Annihilator, Impending Doom, early Chelsea Grin, early Knights Of The Abyss, Molotov Solution, Job For A Cowboy, etc.. Without Deathcore I probably would’ve never discovered Death/Black/Thrash def gotta give credit where it’s due!
I didn't have an older sibling or parents who were into metal so I started with a combination of alt rock and Nu-metal. After about a year or so I discovered real metal and moved on.
Man I met this dude who went from listening to trendy rap/trap shit and then a few months later out of nowhere started listening to slam, death metal, grind, and everything else. What kind of leap is that
Me i fuck with Sematary, Chief keef, $B and Bones but on jah i fuck with dm shit like Scattered remnants, Pyrexia, Rottervore, Impetigo ect. When was younger i was obsessed with all things underground extreme metal. Nowadays i listen to both i don't understand this die Hard only underground metal mentality. but fuck it as long you play that shit loud AF who cares
@@JasonSmith-tg8cq the guy I’m talking about went from listening to only modern rap/trap you know trendy shit to brutal death and grind in a matter of 1-2 months. I thought that was a BIG leap I have no problem with people listening to both I just thought what he did was weird.
Hey J-Dawg, I know you're not all that big on war metal but what would you say are your favorite bestial and/or war metal releases? Can be anything that could fall into any of those categories.
I hate it when people refer to bands such as Blasphemy, Conqueror, Archgoat, Black Witchery, Manticore, etc. as War Metal. Just call it Black Metal or Bestial Black Metal if you must the term War Metal is just so cringe.
@@KaaiHawaiianDeathMetal revolver is what the posers at job watch and looking at their shirts I wouldn't fuck with it.just the weakest hardcore and metal ever
What do you think of Rauta, the metal youtuber, J-Dawg? Both of you talk underground metal, interview, very opinionated and weight train.. seems like an interesting must-see collab.. at some point. I don't know. Seeing you interview bands a while back reminded me of him and what he does. I mean, I really don't see Garza reaching out any time soon. Think it was a trolled and get rolled type of thing on his end 😆
Agreed I don’t bring up my music taste because the normies think I listen to deathcore and all that cringe shit !this is why I follow this channel 😂 ps … give girls a slack unless you can’t get none then that’s a personal problem 😂 cringe fest central .. totally understand j dawg
QUESTION ?????????????? Can you do a HHR top special releases personal to you video, like your top 5 or 10 fav releases from the label over the years and a little show and tell story time to go along? They can be reissues to, just material that is your favorites. Cheers brah
Revolver just did a pre-order for CoF’s Damnation and a Day but only limited to 300 copies. A pre order from an outlet as big as Revolver doing a pre-order of only 300 for a band as big as Cradle was certainly coordinated by a poser 😢
in ~2002 in northern virginia there weren't really any other people wearing metal shirts in high school either. hell I wasn't either I was wearing industrial shirts and misfits shirts. I went to the same high school as mark riddick, herndon high, but a few years after him. he was probably wearing metal shirts though.
I would like to hear that death core meshuggah tone used in old-school DM and drop the horrible vocals and polished sound. Fusing meshuggah and morbid angel basically.
@@blackwintersday The 'Iconic' album was good for a local death metal release but I grew up with the 1995 demo (it was pretty legendary to us younger death metal fans in the Peoria, IL area back in the late 90s and early 2000s). I was in the band from 2005-07 and played drums on the 2007 'Created To Suffer' cd. The song 'Warsoul' was one of our best songs in my opinion...it was like a cool mix of Unleashed, Morbid Angel, etc. I uploaded a live video of 'Warsoul' if you're curious to hear it.
Metal Archives is a very useful tool for finding bands, but there is canoeness on there except they aren’t as canoe as these bozos at loudwire, Metalsucks, or Revolver.
That’s awesome! Then again what was the options back then? I assume everyone in the 70s dressed like bob Ross and those hippies from Texas chainsaw massacre haha
It's just you're subjective opinion that you find that "gay" so many women find them hot. One thing i've learned is when peasants call others gay cuz they aint understand it or whatever, women are most of the times into that dudes.
What? Venom looked 100% Metal and every good metal band should wear like them at least in the concerts. I dont get this.. you are saying the beard wearing hipster haired flannel shirted and fashion jeans (those what looks like old already) and 250$ converse wearing nowadays "metallers" look more mens?
@@sinisterking6009 it's not my subjective opinion, it's a fact. Everyone back in the day though Halford's look was metal as hell. As it turned out, it was a gay aesthetic. Venom and their spandex and synthetic leather bandoliers is no different. When I think of death metal dudes, it's cargo shorts, a black band shirt and long hair. Maybe even the Lemmy, or midnight look with leather jacket and boots, idk. For sure don't think of venom or halford in today's day in age. Agree with what @humanbrisket7718 said, back then it was shocking. Now it's kind of corny.
Metal Archives can be a bit selective on what's considered metal when it comes to bands within Grindcore or any of It's subgenres such as Goregrind or Pornogrind. For some reason they don't consider Last Days of Humanity to be metal which makes no sense to me.
I love it when the Dawg does the little "weerpweerp weerp" hip hop scratching sound. HILLLARRIOUS.. I watched this CANOE🚣♂fest of a video(Garza is literally wearing a Coal Chamber shirt} and the P.C. filled answers by the "rockers" Revolver chose. Watching the Dawg break it down is, again, HILLLARRIOUS.
????? Just checked out we came as romans. Horrible!!! Sounds like linkin park. Thats the last thing we need in the scene is more emotional crap crap screamo stuff!!!!
I don't really care for the poser discourse, as entertaining as it can be. But I'd just wear that elitist label as a badge of honor, tbh. I hate that *core shit too except some djent which I guess is close musically. But those clean breaks, the boy band shit...ugh
???????????????? QU6ES6TI6ON ????????????? For the dog aka king devil. If you were forced at gun point to either stomp a dog or a cat to death what creature would you brutalize ?
MA is pretty hypocritical of their takes, there is plenty of metalcore and deathcore bands listed. Also a decent amount of bands that have nothing to do with metal whatsoever but a moderator is a fan of them, for example Rush, Alice in Chains. Basicly, if they like the band its listed. Also they list any sideprojects of metal artists even if that project is not metal, according to that logic they should list Slipknot based on the fact that some of their members are playing in actual metal bands that are listed. There are also stories that they have not accepted plenty of black metal bands that have too much "outside influence", but have stuff like deafheaven listed. My take is that they should stop being hypocritical, if they accept one band of a certain genre, then should accept all, and vice versa if not
Slipknots last 2 albums is pretty damn good....What would happen if your bands became mainstream?Would you drop them, quit selling their albums?....just curious.
J-Dawg so out of the loop.. Courtney from Spiritbox and the other band Jinjer are at the top of the modern metalcore/deathcore female-fronted scene. Might even be more popular than Arch Enemy at this point. Maybe. You can tell that a lot of bands are jumping on that train and using more clean vocals now due to all 3 of their last releases. Can't wait to see his reaction to the Sick New World festival lineup! 😆
Spiritbox, my bandmate is into them. It's just too clean for me personally. Some of these new blood can riff but they got that cookie cutter production, too high... I say that Immolation's Acts of God was a prime example of great high quality production
It dont really matter if non metal heads wear metal shirts because what they wear is wack bands. I never seen anyone with a Charles Bronson shirt or CBT shirt and they wouldnt either so it dont bother me
