Thank goodness I’ve found this video. Someone else demoed aunt Becky on utube and it didn’t feel right for me and I put aunt Becky away. With this lady demoing, I picked right up on it! Thanks for having her as a guest. She’s awesome.
I have been hand quilting by the rocking method for about 20 yrs. but can't wait to try my hand at this metal to metal method. I have purchase everything I need except the lap frame, will have to wait until the end of the month, you know how that goes. Thanks so much for this video it really opened my eyes.
That’s was so wonderful to watch and learn from! I am trying to find my comfort zone when doing hand quilting as a beginner but as yet not found it. Anxious now to try this.. thank you to you both! From Nova Scotia..
Wow! I am a brand new quilter but have been interested in quilting for years and am now finally trying my hand at it, after feeling I couldn't do it. Hand quilting has always intrigued me and I want so badly to learn this! I have always been in awe of people who can hand quilt such beautiful designs but this way of quilting is super cool! Now, I want to learn this technique over learning the "rocking" technique! I see that she has retired now; thank you for sharing this video, so her technique can live on! Sharlene, do you have a show anymore? I watched you once on PBS and then lost track of it and I never saw it again! You make some beautiful quilts!
Pouvez vous me dire où je peux trouver ce petit objet je fais beaucoup de kilting et j’ai le doigt tellement perforé que je suis obligée de m’arrêter quelques temps pour ne plus avoir mal.Merci de me répondre svp. MERCI
You can get the little rubber finger from an office supply store, or aisle, it’s used to help you count money. You can place it on any finger, and your thumb also.
I’ve made tops for 20 years and am now interested in hand quilting. I’ve ordered Aunt Becky. Where do I order a deep thimble? At least XL, I’m a guy! L is too small. Thanks
Always wanted to hand quilt but an injury to my right thumb keeps me from hand sewing for more than a couple minutes. Your way, I wouldn't be using that thumb so it may work for me.
It is really too bad I cannot see a thing because the picture is just that little bit foggy so I'm learning no see 'um quilting...too bad for me. Could you try again...this one didn't work.
You can go to jeansimpressions.com/ to purchase Aunt Becky and the frame. Dritz makes a thimble called Slip-Stop thimble. The one used in the videos is no longer available.
