METALHEAD REACTION TO KPOP - LOONA - 'SO WHAT' 

Loona has more than 60 songs And almost 33 mvs and yes they all are connected It's a long ride As a grp they have only had 3 albums but there are solos and sub units starting from 2016 so yep so long

Yay!!!! More Loona! As some of the comments have been telling y’all, Loona has a SUPER extensive storyline that goes back since 2016 when they debuted their first member. They each debuted one at a time with a solo, one new girl every couple of months. (And after every few girls, those girls debuted in a subunit, you reacted to a couple bsides from the second subunit Loona Odd eye circle) I’d love it if somehow y’all could do a small Loona series possibly? I know it’s not your normal style or thing, but since we’re all stuck in this quarantine I know y’all must have some extra time on your hands 😂. You could maybe do the first 5 girls solos + the first subunit song for one video. Then the next 3 girls solos then their subunit videos for the next video. Then the last four girls and their subunit video. Every solo has a completely different genre and feel, and so does each subunit. And the VERY intense storyline Loona follows is actually a sci-fi one! I’ll give you small bit of info on it, they’re all living on three different planes/dimension on a Möbius strip, the first 5 girls/subunit are on earth (one of them is an Android) the second three are in some strange middle world above earth and below heaven and have special abilities. And the last 4 are trapped in Eden. The whole story line is the girls trying to find their way to eachother. They do that through battling against their personal evils/demons, and usually eating their respective fruit (each Loona girl has a fruit that represents them that you’ll see obviously in the videos and are connected to the story line. One example, this one girl is on earth, then she eats a cherry and gets transported to the middle dimension, this shit is crazy dude). Anyway, I know that’s a lot, like, a LOT, but we all have a lot of time 😭, and I’d love to see y’all see how they explore the different genres in each of their songs. Obviously after watching all their solos and subunits, your possible last video of the series could be you watching their lead single Favorite (the first video/song of theirs they did as a full group after the 2 years of debuting one at a time) then Hi High, their official debut. Like I said, I know it’s a lot, but honestly I think you guys would enjoy yourselves. And having a few extra long videos would be like a little blessing for us that are bored out of our minds during the lockdown. You could call it something like “Coronavirus Quarantine special: The Loonaverse. (Reacting to all Loona videos in order)”

I think loona is one of the most crazier groups ever, and had so many different styles and still be one. Up until now everything was different and still beautiful connected.

It says a lot that the man who founded SM Entertainment would go to produce a song for Loona - when he hasn't produced a song for Red Velvet, under his own company, for over a year. The last song he was personally involved on was SuperM's Jopping.

Loona is such a severely underrated group, they deserve so much love. Its good to see them getting much more traction but its a fight for groups like loona and dreamcatcher who dont come from big name labels but provide such amazing music. Love what you guys are doing though, keep on being awesome. Also I dont know if its been recommended yet but you guys should check out Minx. I know how much you guys enjoy dreamcatcher and it was their original concept, really fun to see where theyve come from as a group.

So What definitely has a mixed amount of reviews in terms of sound. it's also totally different for them along with their album as the music producer this time around was Lee Sooman (record producer and founder of SM ent which has groups/artists such as EXO, NCT, Taeyeon, Red Velvet and many more!), it made headlines and the fandom definitely went bonkers as LSM has never shown interest in groups outside his label. and boi, where to even begin with the story of LOONA (or the loonaverse). it's huge and let me just say highly addicting. Each member had a solo, mv, and a btrack along with it that told of their story and connection to the LOONAverse as well as the other girls. After a number of members debut, they formed a unit (LOONA 1/3, ODD EYE CIRCLE, and yyxy. all but one member, yeojin, are in a unit), each differing in genres and concepts. Each unit also comes from a different world/realm. The loonaverse involves the chaos theory, bible references, greek mythology, time travel, the girls having powers, women empowerment and so much more. anyway i'll stop there before i go off on a tangent, thanks for the reaction as always!

Oof they have the longest lore and theory ever since the beginning of their groups' career.

Y'all I'm late but forreal Loona is known for their M/Vs because they are A) Mostly if not all shot outside with insane depth (on higher place), B) In real places (ex. Mansion you saw, there's a subunit called yyxy that is shot in a large mansion) C) High budget inside, and in every single video, there is a story of 12 girls in the Loonaverse, each were revealed every month (Loons is Korean means girl of the month), with a debut single + some little extra bsides and duets and stuff. After the first 4 girls were released, they made a unit called Loona 1/3, though out of the first four girls, only three were in the subunit + one not introduced. Then the one who wasn't introduced before, then three more girls introduced, creating the subunit Odd Eye Circle. The last four were revealed and made yyxy. They each have a colour, an animal, some have fruits as well. Each M/V is created as lore in the story of the girls. There are MANY theories, and BBC (their company), has only revealed so much. Yes this is a continuation of the Loonaverse. i know there's been tons of comments explaining how loona works but loona consists of 3 subunits: 1/3, OEC (odd eyed color), and yyxy (y y by y). Each group is in a different world. 1/3 represents the mortal world, OEC is the inbetween and they have special powers, yyxy is basically the equivalent of heaven/eden! Each member has their own solos and all of the title tracks they've released are related to the loona-verse, which is their official lore! The b-sides have some lyrics that give insight to how certain members connect to each other but it is a lot so feel free to go on twitter for some loona theory threads! And hi high, their debut track as a whole group, represents all of the girls getting together and finally being able to join. OEC's plan was to unite and find everyone but it is a very hard to grasp concept if you're not into that type of stuff or LOONA. Some motifs involve looping and time (in one of OEC's mvs, the girls loop around), and running as well as colors representing the members haha. I hope you guys have fun and take it easy! It took me months to finally get what was going on, with a somewhat decent plotline of the loona-verse I also might be incorrect on some of these facts since it's been a while but go fucking nuts yall

To tell if a group is big or just small with a lot of back up dancers is to look at the outfits if some curtain outfits stick out more than others or match then that’s how you can see how many there is in the group but if there is loads of people with the same kind of outfit it’s probably just a big group but I hope this helped!!

Thanks for continuing watching more LOONA and liking them! They're an amazing a super unique group! Each of the 12 members has a solo song (Eclipse is Kim Lip's), since they were debuted one by one before the full group debut. It was a 2 year project (with 3 subunits during that time as well!) and each of the songs is different in genre and sound, so there's something for everybody to like! I feel like most western kpop fans, especially people who usually enjoy boygroups or more bad-ass concepts instead of cute ones, like the songs from the odd-eye-circle members the most (eclipse, singing in the rain, love cherry motion, girl front and my personal favorite sweet crazy love). The official loona youtube channel has a playlist with all the MV's in order (it's important to watch them in order, Orbit will bother you about this ^^'). If you want to get into the group the best introduction video you could watch is the "avengers of kpop: a story of loona" video. It's super well made and gives a good overview of what the group is all about. Apart from the amazing songs, the videography is really integral to loona as well. All the MV's are made by the same company and all the videos and other content that they put out are part of the loonaverse lore. It's similar to the BTS universe where the members represent characters in a larger than life story and there are crazy theories and analyses for all the videos. (please know though, that this part of loona is really hard to get into because all the references are super subtle, not obvious at all and require lots of knowledge about symbolism. At least in my experience most people who try to just watch the videos and figure things out themselves are just confused and I'm not smart enough either so ^-^'..) I see there are some other comments that talk about what the loonaverse is in a bit more detail. I'll just add some teasers here: the intro talks about not accepting the "fate of the moon", this fate being always showing the same side of yourself (since the moon orbits the earth we always see the same side). In the teasers for So What the words "the dark side of the moon" appeared, and that's what this concept is about. Embracing that other/dark side. And the "burn yourself" has to do with burning your old/current self to be sort of "reborn", imagine a fenix. This seems to be represented in the feathers at the end that are burning but then are healed. These feather also likely represent Haseul, whose representative animal is a white bird, and who is currently on hiatus. Loona also is one of the best dancing girl groups out there. They got some fame for their covers of boygroup dances, which they're super good at (bts fire, nct 127 cherry bomb, got7 eclipse and part of seventeen thanks for instance) and a few of the members did an awesome cover of sunmi full moon. Not every orbit likes when loona is compared to BTS but I do want to say that loona also puts out a lot of content and their loonatv episodes on their official youtube, remind me of bangtan bombs, as they are short behind the scenes clips that showcase the members' personalities. And they're all huge dorks so the memes are great. Please consider watching more loona videos (there are a lot of them!) and definitely the avengers of kpop video! ^^ PS: Another unique thing about LOONA is that they don't have official positions like leader, main vocal, etc. because they can all sing, rap and dance. Haseul is kind of the unofficial leader though, and Kim Lip takes that role as well, especially now that Haseul is on hiatus for mental health issues.

I guess the video you could go to to have like a overall of the story arc is Hi High, it is very much a condensed version of the story up to that point, but you would need to read the subtitles to make sense of it since it is so condensed. Just found your channel and I'm diggin the reaction videos! You guys should check out some J-Pop sometime. If you do, I'd recommend Perfume, Keyakizaka46 and BiSH. Perfume has some incredible electropop production- I'd say check out their songs 'Polyrhythm' and 'Dream Fighter'. For Keyakizaka46 their strength really comes from their lyrics in songs like 'Silent Majority' and 'Kuroi Hitsuji'. As for BiSH, listen to 'Stereo Future' and '遂に死'. Loving the content!!
