I don't know if it's just about greed. I mean I don't care how much money I have I would probably never be okay with someone taking my talents, services, or product and doing what they want to do with it Especially giving it away for free. I think it's more about control than money. People don't like getting ripped no matter if they are rich or poor. It's kind of human nature to stand up for yourself. I don't think we should say Lars, you shouldn't because you are rich.
That dude got used to feel ripped off because every day every chick on every street passed him by not being interested to hook up. And I believe that the unappreciative asses like himself were the ones who bashed brave Metallica in Napster days, the ones who smashed CDs publicly and so on :)
Hrmm Lets see. Summer Sanitarium Tour. James gets hurt and can't play the Atlanta show so Metallica plays with guest singers and comes back later to play a free show for everyone in attendance when he gets better.... My experiences with Metallica have been awesome... =D

Wow he thought that was being ripped off.Try living in brazil like I do I payed like $400 for a ticket in '03 (Yes,during the crappy St. Anger tour) and they cancelled the show, claiming that they were "tired",but they kept their commitment to the japanese and australian tours later on.I got my money back, but talk about being frustrated They showed up here only in '10 (eleven years since last show)

Look at bands today, the best selling bands like lamb of god (who are a better off band in terms of sales) sell around 100 000 records when they're new albums are released. i think machine heads "the blackening" sold around 60 000 which is pathetic for an album that was so incredible.
The black album is amazing and always will be and incredible piece of work, but I know what you mean. It has gotten overplayed to death. I kind of put it in the category or Led Zepplin IV. I would easily argue that both Black and Led IV are two of the top 25 ablums in rock...EVER...but I couldn't sit and listen to both of them from start to finish if you paid me lol.
It's THEIR music, they're entitled to do what they want with it, if someone downloads music for free off of the internet, that's basically stealing. For fuck's sake, James is running out of ideas for new songs, he can't be losing out on what he's already got.
@aydooknow your forgetting that the money they make also goes into making of the albums in the future it pays for the rent of the studio time all the equipment and pays the people that work for them etc

LOL Not sure that is a good comparison for what happened. More like you are promised 100 rolls of the best toliet paper and it ended up being too rough, no fresh scent, and only had 20 sheets per roll instead of the 100 sheets you expected lol. @ArtQuakedoom95x4 Bands like Testament, Death, Megadeth, Kreator, Overkill, Black Sabbath, Led Zeppelin,Pantera, and Slayer. I could name more but I won't. Metallica has been dead for 20 years.4 good albums out of 10 is not a very good ratio.

@ArtQuakedoom95x4 Listen to Metallica playing like Bon Jovi on Load, Reload, and Lulu. Look at them playing like shit on St. anger. Alternica hasn't used powerful riffs in forever. Megadeth never repeats themselves.
@TheWitchOvAgnesi on every album megadeath has made daves voice was terrible the band was good but he sucked and on every metallica album the vocals were amazing and the band was great
