I played this in my car on the way to work while dropping my high schooler off at school and he was secretly enjoying this music even though it's "old" and from the "nineteen hundreds"!!
next time play some NAS and then SOME REAL MTF Gs from From Easy, Then play still Dre . After that play country grammar from Nelly. Let him know where the roots of the tree came from'
I recently was sat in a room with my little cousin who has recently got into hip hop and UK grime, I took pleasure showing him tunes like this one that blew his mind! Literally every song I played his head would start bopping to the beat, I was a proud older cousin at that moment 😂
Nothing like real hiphop!!!! I grew up on 90s and early 2000s music. And I’m thankful for that!! Tupac, Biggie, Lauren Hill, WuTang, Busta Rhymes, Missy Elliot, Timbaland and more.
@@joev.7951 That's good to hear. I heard some new Method Man and new Redman on Spotify the other day and I was like "damn, what happened!?" I really hope they pull off a Blackout 3.
Because this song isn’t disconnected from soul. Some of these new “under the influence” styles are disconnected children with a spectrum of mental health issues💯
+NemRaps If so then why is it only on for 2:26 mins i mean c'mon mann i know atleast 20 songs from each of these rap artists that would be better and secondly there has only been 11 million views ive seen big l song with atleast 20 million and more artists much better then big l i mean how affencive is that to make that statement ass hole.
Method Man is one of the reasons why the debate over "who's the best rapper" isn't as obvious as people think. He deserves to be on the list of candidates. He has an absolutely undeniable science of flow and what he has more than any other rapper is his gestures. The way he moves his body, his hands in tune with the music (you have a clear demonstration on this video clip)...I've never seen anyone else do it as impressively as him. Method Man seems to me to be unfairly underrated in the history of hip hop.
couldn't agree more. such an epic track and this era of hip hop was amazing ..flipmode with "hit ya with the heat" ..Rah digga with tight.. wu with protect ya neck.. busta fat Joe and chingy with shorty.. comp with comp!.. Jay-Z with do it again.. so much awesome big attitude hip hop hehe! :D Gotta say tho as a vfx artist and cg generalist I would love to grab these guys mocap em and do some absolutely insane video! :D movie budget style.. I bet they'd all be on board for that.. the biggest cg fest music video ever done by ILM and Weta.. something that puts an avengers movie to shame for vfx shots haha and takes the fight to em haha :D
That would probably be Mobb Deep, in my opinion. Havoc with the dark and haunting beats, Prodigy with the sinister and thought provoking lyrics. It's like the death metal of the hip hop world.
This song is one of the creatively unique pieces in hip-hop. No hook, no specific topic, very short and straight out barz. I cannot see anyone do justice to this song besides Meth & Red.
It's crazy. You rarely hear people do anything like this anymore. You'd have to cut the radio off and find someone that recognizes that their voice is another instrument and a part of the song just like the drums or the horns
Just read an article that says the song was short because Redman and Eric Sermon weren't feeling the track. Meth knew it was golden. Blessed to learn the history of classics from the golden era 🙏🏾
jigga what jigga who Nah I understood what he meant. in the late 90's to early 2000's all the the best rappers of the time were at there commercial prime and selling the most records. They may have laid the foundation in the early 90's but as the years progressed they became very popular. I remember back then the labels were dropping acts because they only sold gold. During this period platinum was the standard.
that whole verse starting from 'i was gone too/but we roam/cellular phones/doc mef/back in the flesh/blood and bones/can't condone/blow bank loans/on homegrown/suckas break/like turbo and ozone...' is one of the fireest verses ever...meth sets it up and red smashes it...
These two are the Naruto and Sasuke , the Falcon and Winter soldier , the Ironfist and luke Cage of rap in my opinion.. they're superb individually, and flawless together.
For sure. My little nephew is now 11 and he is now into rap and hip/hop.. I am now 38... he asked me what did you listen too, I said put this track on very loud... he is a fan now
