Very excited. Unfortunately, not everyone “gets” Metroid. I’ll never understand why. Maybe it’s because people come to Nintendo for blue skies and fluffy white clouds. Some people don’t like to branch out. I love Mario and Zelda, but I love Samus, too. I love Ryu AND Cloud. I love Metal Gear. I love Mortal Kombat. I love HD-2D RPGs. I love Animal Crossing. Variety is a good thing. Some people own a PS5 just to play CoD or Madden. That’s fine, but I honestly can’t understand people that aren’t excited to play as Zelda after 40 years. And play in innovative and adorable ways. I don’t understand people who aren’t hyped for Metroid Prime 4. I kind of feel sorry for them. I mean, I get to walk around in a good mood today and look forward to great games and they are whining about Wind Waker. I have wind Waker. It’s great. But most of the people claiming they are so disappointed not to be getting Wind Waker probably have never played it and probably would be disappointed. They’ve just been hearing old people like me say how great it is for so long that they’ve internalized it. This was a 9/10 before they announced Marvel vs Capcom! It’s still not a 10, because nothing is a 10, but a Zelda-centric Zelda game, Metroid Prime 4, MvC, Perfect Dark and Zero Mission, Dragon Quest, Mario and Luigi… 9.4! Yes, it would have been cool to get the whole Dragon Quest trilogy at once, even if it cost more. Like $29.99 each or $79.99 for a bundle or something. Especially, with the numbering. Just packaging it together and calling it the DragonQuest trilogy HD-2D would have cut out the chronology confusion. I’m happy to be getting the the whole story, but keeping the ‘III’ in the title is confusing. And of course everyone groaned at the DK HD port. Meanwhile, I’m convinced that Nintendo is saving Metroid prime 2&3, Atwilight and wind Waker to fill in gaps post switch 2 launch. I think they want to sell the Switch 1 along side the Switch 2 for at least 2-3 years. They’ll need content to put on the Switch 1. The switch 2 will get some high end, graphically intensive first party games that are exclusive as well as third party games that can’t run on the original switch like FF xvi and Street Fighter 6; maybe even Elden Ring. The Switch 1 will get crossGen games and ports and remasters as well as indie games. Having games like wind Waker to drop ever 4-6 months can get the switch past the ps2 in life time sales in my opinion.

What im actually looking towards is how they going to make it look on the switch 2. Multiple times the resolution. Multiple times the graphics. Halo infinite, watch out.

That had to be one of the best directs ever! I'm most excited for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom but Metroid Prime 4 looks amazing and I'm not even a Metroid fan! I'm pretty disappointed that there wasn't The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker or Twilight Princess but it was still awesome!

I can't say I have much faith that this game will sell much better then Dread did, will be lucy if sells as much as Kirby and the Forgotten Land did.

It seems cool. Not as huge fan of Metroid so I’ll probably skip it but I’m really glad for Metroid fans since they’ve been waiting so long for Metroid prime 4.

Definitely not the “biggest” and “boldest”. Gameplay literally looks the same as it did 20 years ago. It will be a solid game for sure but not a game changer like botw / totk was

Metroid Prime 4 looks great. Just disappointed that it’s only a blanket 2025 date given. Mario Party is……more Mario Party. Mario & Luigi is cool and all, but after playing RPG and TTYD I’m surprised they chose now to release it. The last couple M&L games were nowhere near as good as those two so we’ll see how that turns out. A port of DKC Returns is meh. I’ve played that game on two consoles now and it’s nowhere near as good as Tropical Freeze. Zelda is the wildcard here. It isn’t really what I want from a Zelda game. Especially a 2D one. But I’ll give it a chance. Gameplay wise I’m not sold at all. But I’ll definitely give it a chance to win me over. Decent direct. Not spectacular, certainly not bad. Really would have rather had windwaker/TT, but that’s just me. 7/10 direct. Good, but definitely not “The biggest direct ever”

I'm happy - but! After so many years I kind of expected, more? I know, it's a Switch title and it probably can never look any better than this, but I'm still expecting it to be released also on Switch 2 and looking way better still. I know it was just a glimpse but it looked a bit underwhelming for my insane expectations. We'll see when more info and trailers come out

One thing I noticed almost immediately is the Halo-esque feel I got from the Visor and intro as a whole. Not that I don't mind it. I didn't mind it back then when Prime 3 released so I won't mind it here, but it does stand out. Still being able to fight alongside allied NPCs for once makes me happy. In Prime 3 Allies usually did something only in cutscenes.

Dont listen to the comments trying to talk about you being too hype. The hype IS REAL! Everything you’re saying in this video was exactly what was running through my head watching it live. This is unprecedented. Nintendo, for the first time in too long, is finally showing signs of listening. This is the greatest direct since the release of Switch.

Switch force, bro this is not a switch current GEN game. There’s way more going on in the graphics and you realize it’s got retracing on the reflections. I can see it. The lighting is so different than what you seen on switch. The frame rate is more than 60 it looks like it’s running about 120 frames per second OK this is definitely a successor title if they released this on the regular switch it’s not gonna look like what you’re seeing right now in that trailer this is switch 2 graphics that you’re seeing.

I love the look of this game however I will not play it until I can play Metroid prime 2 and 3 remastered for the first time cause there ain’t no way going back to the GameCube/Wii to play them nor am I skipping 2 and 3 besides all that the Nintendo direct was really disappointing to be honest the only thing it had going for it was metroid prime 4 and that’s it why Nintendo fails to announce anything cool is beyond me

Retro Studios is very competent, but Metroid Prime 4 is running on Switch or Switch 2? If this version is for Switch, the Switch 2 version will be sweet….

in terms of production, it's probably nintendo's best game to date. but i still find it a little hard to call it the best nintendo game. In terms of gameplay, it's still "just" a space shooter metroidvania, which doesn't really appeal to me as a genre. Ori yes. Hollow Knight god yes. Metroid Prime Remastered was okay. As far as I'm concerned it's a good 8 out of 10, but in a different league to Zelda. Still cool, of course, and I don't want to belittle the attention to detail and the scripted events. it really looked like an in engine actionmovie. but I think that after the prologue it will soon look like the first part.

I think and definitely HALO dev that works on Retro has some influence on Metroid Beyond more or less, including the Dev from COD and Battlefield
