Our first ever cooking show. In conjunction with Penang's Asam Laksa being ranked 7th on CNN's WORLD'S 50 BEST FOODS LIST, we would like to show you the recipe of our Mews Cafe's Asam Laksa.
Asam Laksa recipe for 4 persons. As mentioned in the video, you will need to taste as you go.
Ingredients:
Paste
-Dried Chillies 12nos
-Fresh Red Chilies 3nos
-Lemongrass 3 stalks
-Turmeric 2pcs thumb size
-Galangal 1 pcs thumb size
-Shallots 200gm
Broth
-Tamarind 100g
-Asam Keping (Tamarind Slice)5 slices
-Daun Kesum (Vietnamese Coriander) 5 stalks
-Ginger Flower 1 torch
-Ikan Kembung (Mackerel) 0.5kg
Garnish
-Mint Leaves
-Pineapple
-Red Onion
-Cucumber
-Ginger Flower
Laksa noodles or any rice-based noodles for substitution.
Shrimp paste to taste.
