I loved this recipe! Instead of the jalapeño, I used a small can of the diced green chilies. It did need a little more heat, but it is my goto for Mexican cornbread thank you for making this video and sharing! Can't wait to try that coconut pie next!! Love from Louisiana!
Yummy that looks good. Bout made me say a bad word when you opened that oven and I saw it. Hug your momma for me. Enjoy your weekend and thanks for sharing.
Mercy!Having chili beans with this great cornbread, you guys even made the pies! Im going to share your videos! My youngest daughter is a beginner cook!
That's wonderful to hear that your daughter wants to cook. Cooking has become an art form. But, anyone can cook. I worked in food service 25 years. Encouraging and helping people learn to cook. So, thank you for sharing. Enjoy
You can use as many seeds as you like. I like it hot as well so I leaves the seams. I’ve been wanting some of this and plan to make it soon. It’s even good just by itself. lol You will enjoy it. Merry Christmas
@@southforyourmouthcooking Thank you so much. I really never knew how people made it hotter. I am definitely going to make this! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
2 cups White Lily self rising cornmeal mix, 1/2 cup self rising flour, 1 medium diced onion, 1 chopped bell pepper, 2/3 cup vegetable oil, 2 eggs, 8oz canned cream corn, 3-4 jalapeno's diced no seeds, 1-1/2- 2 cups shredded cheddar, 1 cup buttermilk or more to get to correct consistency.
dont know if you guys cares but if you guys are stoned like me during the covid times you can stream all of the new series on instaflixxer. I've been streaming with my gf for the last days :)
I Love your recipes . It would be helpful if you listed your ingredients. Is it self-rising Corn meal mix or plain? What size cast iron skillet is it, 10 or 12? Thank you and GOD Bless.
Elaine Helms glad to hear from you. We use self-rising White Lily Buttermilk Cornmeal Mix. It is a 10 inch Iron skillet. I sprayed it good with Pam Spray, although you can use shortening or oil
Not really "Mexican" without masa harina blends of corn meal and flour, or queso fresco & mexican crema (mexican sour cream) but love the creamed corn idea and good amount of cheddar cheese. Looks tasty and comforting.
I consider myself a very good cook and I do like your recipe of course I put sour cream in it but first let me say you're the first person I have seen on RU-vid that has not told about mama daddy granddaddy way back there devastated wife before they get to cooking that just bores me more than as a my life has enough drama I don't need nobody else's drama you do is the right thing you're cooking it and and you're done thank you so much but no drama I think people's family drama should stay in they're home not mine
Helen Boula I agree with you completely. People Drag out their recipes and it wears me out. I say. “Hurry up, start cooking”. I get tired of watching a simple recipe that takes forever I want to b prepared. Everything in front of me, ready to cook. Thank you so much for your comments
