Zero: "A mental copy. His phantom, if you like." Ocelot: "I don't understand." Zero: "You will, when you turn into Liquid." Ocelot: "What?" Zero: "What?"
Ocelot - "... Also I'm not gay." Zero - "Indeed. I'm gay." Ocelot - "Yes, I thought you should know." Zero - "I see. Very clever of you to tell me. No one must tell Jack though, promise me?" Ocelot - "No, I don't promise, I'm not even gay." Zero - "Thank you my dear friend" Ocelot - "I'm Not Gay!" Zero - "Hmm... Yes that is very correct, I am truly gay. Thank you... My dear old friend."
Zeros character in MGSV is so masterfully nuanced and complex that the games biggest crime is not using him as the main antagonist. His VA makes Jim Cummings look a joke and every sentence he utters is fascinating
Miller and "V" as big boss is just Ocelot and The Big Boss imprinting their Phantoms on Solid and Liquid thru VR missions mind control tech! 😳👽😅 I'm telling ya, I feel like a damn well played fiddle! 😶😬
Zero's feeling his age as well as the poison/parasites...You can hear so much regret in his voice but also how he tries to put up a strong image to Ocelot. So sad how he tells Ocelot "they can't bury the hatchet, not this soon..." knowing there won't be a chance in the future and that there is no going back from his fuck-ups. I also didn't know he directly passed power to the Darpa Chief...So that guy must have also done a lot of shitty things. I could not bare having Dr. Clark as the villain of MGS6...
Darpa Chief is Sigint from MGS3. According to the lore, when Big Boss broke away from the Patriots/Zero after Zero betrayed him with having the clones created, Ocelot and EVA left alongside Big Boss and took his side, with Dr. Clark/Paramedic and Sigint siding with Zero. But yes, I have zero doubt MGS6 would feature Dr. Clark as one of the major antagonists, if even as a flashback to the horrific treatments she put Frank Jaeger through. It's clear she became a such a massive villain later on in her life as opposed to the sweet, supportive, plucky eyed monster movie loving figure she was in MGS3.
@@2Good2BeTrue45 What I find so beautiful is that the technology/research they sank their life into was their downfall. Zero by the parasite/skullface, Paramedic fell to the ninja and Darpa Chief to the nanomachines. Like Skullface cursed them all.
I really wish there was a motion comic for these cassette tapes (like the comic-style cutscene in portable ops and peace walker) the conversation in those tapes hooked me up way more than the entirely of metal gear survive
So this makes me wonder about the incident in Cyprus. Zero seems confident that no one knew about Cyprus. This makes me wonder if the XOF team we see attack the hospital after they wake up is just there to mop up everybody who might have possibly seen both Snakes while they were recovering, and Quiet was either a mole for Skullface within Zero's XOF, or was expected to fail, and was there just to test the Snake's capabilities. After all, Quiet is the only one who actively tries to kill Snake, the main XOF units have a few chances to kill Snake outright and don't, and only really shoot back after the Snakes arm themselves, and most of the fighting is against Man on Fire by that point.
MGSV is my first Metal Gear game, and my knowledge on the rest of the franchise is patchy. What I find interesting and also confusing is that it's really difficult to tell who the "good guys" and "bad guys" are, who we're supposed to be rooting for.
that's the thing with metal gear and politics in general, there are no good guys, only bad guys with some level of goodness in them. look at all the snakes, they all kill a lot of people at some point. all characters in this narrative have some greater good to pursue, few are outright bad, but they way they conduct themselves make us judge them differently
@@purplesamurai5205 Well, Solid Snake does not show up once in this game; it's "Big Boss", whose moral alignment at this point in the timeline is pretty ambiguous. So that wouldn't be the best quality to judge who's the "good guy" or "bad guy".
Man zero made a big mistake letting ocelot help out, considering how much trouble big boss and ocelot would cause for the patriots (since ocelot dedicated his life and death to serving the dreams of the boss, the sorrow, and john
@@MrHungryforbeats ohhh wow new information, i didn't know that, but when the patriot recovery body of BB,Isn't it zero who took BB body, so he's already awake in MG2 im right?
@@ahabsuffer5044 i think he was already an AI a this point like all the patriots because of strangelove ai research, and the fact Zero was never seen after that last conversation with ocelot in the truth tapes of TPP
He always considered big boss a friend. But he became power-hungry. The clone project is the ultimate nail in the coffin for his friendship with big boss
He always admired Big Boss. But he straight up violated him. He essentially raped Snake by taking his DNA without his consent. Paramedic, Zero and Sigint knew Big Boss despised cloning and would NEVER sign off on something like that and Zero took away his free will by literally taking away his DNA while he was comatose and injured for a short while and proceeded with the les enfants terribles project. You can still admire someone, even though you are on opposite sides and even hate that person. Human beings are complex creatures for a reason
So if it was Zeros plan. Is Snake working under Zero for zanzibar land or just going along with whats going on with Venom taking his place i have yet to find these things out
