The BSA have defamed her. I think she should look at suing the BSA for defamation. Hopefully she contacts the Free Speech Union, I think they might be interested in this violation of her Free Speech.

In my view NZ Media Council Principles and BSA Standards and the process around them have proven to be inadequate to ensure unbiased and factual information is presented by media to the public. Thus our democracy is a battle between ideologies rather than a decision process based on truth.

Consider by contrast the BSA to my knowledge has never issued a breach notice to any broadcaster perpetuating negative stereotypes about Pakeha, which occur every time anyone on TV or radio talks about "white supremacy" or "colonialism", which is frequently. I would argue that by BSA not prosecuting those instances of racism, they can only be viewed as also extending special treatment to Maori and Pacific Island peoples based solely on those specific ethnicities.

Why don't these committees standing in judgement not realise the difference between equality and equity. Equity is a form of discrimination. Equality is treating everyone the same.

Regardless of whether Kate's statements were true or not. Is this more broadly a case of suppressing public discussion? Her statements sounding perfectly valid, does make the BSA decision look very anti European. This is increasingly the norm in New Zealand. It is as if we are the minority ethnicity. There are many things happening in Britain that are equivalent and worse.

My father was a GP in a deprived part of the Wellington region and took pride in helping certain communities, I also have a friend who is a GP in a similar position. I am disgusted that politicians and media are allowed to push their narrow views on healthcare and race and their narrow ideas about race politics and discrimination onto men who are significantly better able to make the right decisions. My dad and my friend are: -Better educated -More intelligent -More ethical and less 'racist' Than ANYONE who wokes (deliberate typo) in media or ANY of NZs MPs The people who work in healthcare are committed to helping those who need it, and have been world leaders in EVIDENCE based policies. Sure, the medical profession may have gotten some things wrong in the past, but they should be allowed to lead the push for improving things and not be manipulated by petty political agendas. Politicians increasingly seem to represent the worst of us.

Biology is exactly the same no matter who you are, clinical need should always come first no matter what, blood bones organs DNA, cells .... all the same in every human some are fit and healthy some are sick but nothing shoudl ever put one human in front of another based on race ever.

Just had a look at the BSA website. Governors: women and ethnic persons over represented. Lawyers overrepresented: 3 to 1. Then the staff. Women 7 versus men 2. Lawyers - ridiculous 7 lawyers or former lawyers or worked in the legal profession which under the Lawyer and Conveyancers Act means they were lawyers versus 2. Of the total staff that's 10 out of 13 that are/were lawyers. Only 2 out of the total have broadcasting experience as Broadcasters rather than lawyers for broadcasters. Minister for Broadcasting please go in there and sack the board and staff and reestablish a proper hiring balance that is backed up by an employment charter that is waaaaay more representative of New Zealand demographics than what is in place right now.

I've complained to the BSA three times. In every case, there was a clear breach of the standard of accuracy or impartiality. In every case, they trumped up some ridiculous argument about why that was not the case. The BSA is not fit for purpose and needs to be shut down then replaced with a new authority that's not full of left-wing, biased Wellingtonians.

As someone who is reliant on on going medical treatment I agree fully that there is a bias within the system for Māori or Pacifica, I see it first hand every time I end up in hospital…

One of the reasons Maori and Pacifica get preferential surgical treatment is because they don't turn up to appointments!!! This was directly from management from ADHB or whatever they are called.

I just went to my GP today and he wanted to put me on a new medication that’s funded by the government. I didn’t quite meet the criteria, if I was Maori or Pasifica I would have met the criteria.

If someone has been waiting in line at Pak n Save to pay for their shopping for 45mins and I because of my race skip the line. That to me as a Pacific Islander if I saw that happen would tell my Pacific Island brother or sister to get to the back of the line and wait like everyone else.
