After taking a cycle ride up into the mountains of one Greek island when all were having a siesta in the afternoon. and no Greek person was in sight. I took plenty of water but when I look back it was a dangerous thing to do even though I was well prepared fit and in my 30s.. To walk up into a mountainous area in heat that can only be described as a furnace and without a mobile phone is suicidal. I cannot understand why he has done this.......... to be out in that heat for hours is fatal and days don't look good at all. Why has he taken such a foolish risk..........I do feel sorry for his family !!!!!!!

Seen a local comment on yt that the restaurant closed early because its not yet high season. Awful to think he may have tried the restaurant but found it closed and wandered a bit further on to sit somewhere and passed out. If that's the case and there was no fall involved it really does show in awful stark truth the fine margins involved in surviving extreme heat. As you say let's hope he didn't suffer.

At that point, he abandons all his critical facilities and doesn't take a phone, and this super intelligent Dr goes walking the mid day sun with no water. This doesn't add up.

There are plenty of aspects of society that deserve a huge dollop of healthy cynicism, but the tragic case of a person making a bad judgement call, and inadvertantly under heat stress becoming disorientated and turning a bad situation into a tragedy doesn't fell like one of those. Knowing the possible dangers with no water or food supply to go on that kind of walk he should and should’ve known better he’s a doctor but we must remember that We are all human beings and even if you’ve got the title of medical doctor in front of your name sometimes expertise and common sense goes completely out of the window and your feet can become very precarious, dangerous and fatal, unfortunately So sometimes a degree like a PhD means nothing like in this case of the missing TV Doctor and presenter Michael Mosley may he rest in peace I’m so sorry for the family and especially for his wife.

A local here.. A TV crewmember (camera operator) from ERT (Hellenic public Radio & TV) saw something small but black and took shots to be analyzed on shore. The mayor happened to be sitting next to him. They were looking at deserted shorelines again and caves. The cameraman was actually in tears when British reporter interviewed him. The restaurant nearby closed early unfortunately, it's not high season yet. This beach is only accessible by boat, not foot, not car. (Saint Marina) And his hand was on his chest. Not stomach. Friends, never be anywhere alone, diving, hiking, whatever. Espec in extreme conditions, 43+ celcius, no foliage to take cover, no existing path, just rocks everywhere, no mobile, a bottle of water won't last long.. A truly sad turn of events, we Greeks were hoping for a small miracle. May he rest in peace, prayers for his family. 🙏

Temps are usually measured in the shade. Go outside in 31° temps, and stand in full sun without shade and dependent on the surroundings you will then find they can easily reach high 30°s.

I don't think the public should be able to walk over this hard terrain full stop, let alone cut corners to get somewhere, where he ended up he couldn't even get through the railings, he'd of have to have walked even further to the gate to get in. What was he thinking!! No phone, no drink, no other person to help. This video shows how rugged the footing is,, your just asking for trouble. Prayers to his family

If you look at the area its very rocky borken ground with low lying scrub vegitation. VERY easy to go unnoticed.... it was pure chance that he was spotted from a boat a short distance off the coast.

So sad for his family but its quite disgusting how the "climate" is being used in this. Its going to be hot ,it's Greece. Just checked the weather and yes it's hot but not 43 degrees and either side of Greece it looks like a nice southern Europe summers day with mid 20s temps..This climate alarmist drama is getting ridiculous.. Anyway they can see the climate agenda is failing ,bring in the bird flu.. RIP DR Mosley..😢

Nobody thinks it's strange that his body was found close to the boat ramp ( easily carried from there to where it was found) the mayor's boat w a photographer in it spotted it?? That's pretty strange( I don't feel well I'm going to walk 3.4 hours in the blistering sun w no water or cell phone. Okay bye honey

People often just assume they’ll be fine when they go for a hike in the mountains, unfortunately it only takes one slip up for it all to go very very wrong. Which is why taking a means of contacting emergency services or people you know is so important. I hope they find him alive but it’s really not looking good.
