It was produced in 2009...when touch screens and iPhones were still new and nobody really knew what was going to come of it. This video looks ridiculous now. For example: in 2019, your phone will have two pieces, one you hold up to your ear while the other you hold in your hand so you can see the other person. Uhh...why wouldn't you just put the video call on speaker, or use headphones if you want privacy? And they really thought we'd be using giant fold-able Harry Potter magic newspapers to read our news on, instead of just using our phones or tablets? C'mon Microsoft. This is as silly as those 1950s films that imagined the 1980s.

Some of it does tho but not as cool as the video lol, like - transfer data (not using hands or glass pen but we have airdrop) - video call and doodle (google, facetime and discord have that) - plant recognizable (pretty sure iphone can do that through photo app) - gps live tracking (with camera) But sadly not the touchscreen newspaper 😂

Flareblood It is technology still in the lab. It is not ready yet for commercial use, but it is entirely possible, were the companies to invest more money in these technologies. 

Anthuan Leyva You are right in the way that this is entirely possible, as much as a smart screen is possible. However, I do not believe it is better for us. Some of this is more complicated than necessary or more expensive than necessary. I mean, that newspaper, how much would that cost per copy? And what would the point of it be if you could see everything on the front page anyway. But to finalise your point, yes. This is more than possible.

+King President We are really close. Skype live translation, HoloLens, Surface, modular phones, Cortana... Combine them all concepts and you'll see we're way closer than you think we are. Sure, it won't be literally like this, where there are digital graphical interfaces everywhere and everything is transparent and stuff, but we're in a year with a lot of things like this to come. It's a great time for we technology geeks to be alive.

Oh, be careful with that wish. It could backfire, because I believe you would need to implant electrodes into your brain, since external electrodes are too imprecise, in my opinion. And brains, a assure you, are no things to easily tamper around with. (It's manipulation I'm talking about) Voice commands are a lot safer in that respect, and still do the job, if buttonlessness is a matter.

It really isn't, there's a lot of cloud synchronization going on here, the only difference is thinner screens via nano-technology like that newspaper, we already have transparent touch screens, its all the same technology we have today it just isn't streamlined to the public yet

And not just an imagined concept did will or will not be true. Microsoft thought it would be become true by 2019. I rather think that this future will be available in 2022.

You're certainly a troll, aren't you? Most of these things we already have, albeit not so sexy and all over the place. The newspaper made me think of Flipboard, which is essentially the same, but on a solid tablet, not "epaper".

I worked as a security consul for companies. Phones and house holds are getting more integreted to one. For an exempel Smart home solution its already out there, Samsung have some commercials about it. But in Sweden i can see whom is goong in and out from my house, open and close my door from the phone. Have a door lock that have a voice and intretegated with the larm system and tells u if the larm is on or off, u can check heat in every room put on lights set up a schem with the system. Its truly amazing, for exemple. Imagen coming home puting of the larm and the lights go on even before u enter your house, u can even set the TV on or kitchen. How u want it its possible, when u go to sleep u can have a two button remote control next your bed. Its night mode and day mode, push the night mode and lights/TV/Lamps turns off and windows and door would be larmed. Wake up push day mode larm goes off and lights tv and coffe machine actived puts on your coffe and tv is on. This system aldready

This system already is out there, the best thing is that u could even have police/firedepartment/ security at your needs not even using your phone with this system. Its so amazing and the futuer is aldready here but it does not come cheap thou:) but around 10-15 k swedish kroner its possible:) u can almost do everything with this system.
