@@graywolfdracon His dog was just crashing the video with its sweet eyes, yet ghostly because the dog is all white. All I saw were the small puppy eyes and I began laughing
I’m pretty wanting to do what my Dad did is how I ended up in the Army. It feels like every good decision I have ever made, I made because my Father made it first.
i continue to learn so much about lobster from this channel! never know there was not a shell present after a molt. i always thought the new shell pushes the old one off
As a blue collar dad, those moments when y’all hang out are awesome. Seein your eyes light up askin if he likes it. Ya seem like a good dude, or at least dad.
I've always wondered if you could eat softshell lobsters the way you can eat softshell blue crabs. That's about how I expected it to go, but glad you gave it a try lol
I grew up and live right around the corner from where the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean meet - soft shell crab (blues, obviously) are among my favorite foods of all time. Death row, last meal favorite - yes we eat them whole, claws and all.
My mom used to go bonkers for shedders. Peel and eat, mostly, maybe use a steak knife to cut a seam to peel the shell. Only thing was she'd never wait long enough after steaming them and would scald her fingers when all the extra water would come out.
- Part 2 with a day or 2 old shed? When you find another one of course. Also your son is so beautiful. What a handsome boy ! 😊 Bless you && your whole family my friend.
I used to love "soft shell lobster". My family likely bought them because they were so cheap. I don't know if it is still allowed to sell them - I haven't been to Maine in about 20 years, I moved to Australia in '05 - but they were inexpensive compared to others. We used to buy at roadside stands then have a humongous lobster feast. It was always a highlight. My parents were winter travelers so wherever we went it was always cold lol so having a bonfire on a beach was wonderful.
Fun fact, microwaved fresh lobster turns out REALLY good. Go look up Chef Lynn Crawford and her lobster fishing trip to Nova Scotia. Also I’ve tried it and it works great! I don’t know if it’s better than traditionally steamed or boiled lobster but it still kicks ass!
I grew up just south of the Massachusetts/New Hampshire line and as soon as I was old enough to be eating lobster I was all for it! And every other seafood out there. Feel a little spoiled growing up out there as there's no better seafood in the world! But I've been out in Arizona the last 5 years so real, fresh, good seafood isn't much of a thought...but this, this hurt me to my soul! Microwaving a lobster?? What?!?! Man, never would I have thought. Almost glad dad's not around to see this! Who am I kidding, no I'm not but I know he'd feel the same as I!!
Jacob, When l first moved to Maine back in '07, l actually microwaved one of those HUGE clams, out of curiosity! And it worked! 😲 Surprisingly! 😂 The shell actually opened just like it would have with conventional cooking! 🤭 Happy Valentine's Day Jacob + Family! 💘 How was your camping trip Up North with your new old plane? ☺️✌️💖🦋🙏
You should try to fry it next time in the shell! I don't know if it would be similar to the way soft shell crab can be fried and eaten whole but it would be great to find out!
The way you eat lobster shocked me 😀 From my point of view, the body of the lobster is the most delicious. I eat them in this order: the claws, the knuckles, the small legs (yes, delicious) the tail, then for last I keep the best: the body with the insides and the meat on the bottom. I guess you have too much of it. But the best is in the body
That would be similar to a paper shell blue crab.Wait to long and you are no longer able to eat them. The meat shrinks and the shell is no longer edible.
i microwave lobsters pretty often on the wharf. i got an old coffe can i throw them in hard shell about 9-11 mins and its kust as good as steamed in a pot
Did it all wrong. Melt some butter and a little olive oil in a pan. Split lobster in half length wise, then quarter leaving claws intact. Remove head sack, gills and line. Lay lobster shell side DOWN except for body with cut side down. COVER. Cook until you see meat on tail start to turn white on edges, then flip. Carefully turn over cut body halves and spoon any tomali or eggs that fall out back in. Squeeze half a lemon and drizzle some sherry (tablespoon and half) over everything. Add another pat of butter and baste all till tail done - it won't take long 1 minute until butter melted. Plate and scrape up any bits in the pan with leftover juices and pour onto tail and body. Let rest 2 min. Remove tail from shell. Tear soft shell from claws. Legs and body you can cut into bite size and suck goodness out spitting out shell. Don't actually eat the shell. Can do this with a regular lobster too, just put a small crack in claws and knuckles. Delicious. I HOPE YOU TRY THIS! Good Luck.
I'm watching the quality of this channels content degrade before my eyes. Can we expect more of these clickbait gross food and "challenge" videos to come? I'm glad your channel has blown up, I'm sure the money is nice, but if we're going to start appealing to the lowest common denominator then I'll have to duck out now.
🦞 Okay, I have heard that you can cook that lobster in the microwave, but you need to put a couple pieces of lettuce over the top while it cooks it keeps all the steam in there. And the shell should not harden up. It sounds about right because I have cooked steaks in the microwave. Just the same way. Just throw a couple pieces of lettuce covering the whole steakand that thing will be cooked in no time and taste fantastic. Believe it or not. Give it a WIRL Don't have that many lobster around me in chicago. Please try it and let us know if it works. Goodluck
