Hi guys, thank you for your kind words and watching! Please check the description for fundraiser information! Also, like and share so more people can see and hopefully help!
I was born in Fontanelle and lived in Creston growing up. It is hard to believe more people were not killed. People in Greenfield are not wealthy so it is hard to say how they will recover. Pay on a mortgage for a house that is gone! Foundations gone so you cannot even rebuild on it. I have a cousin Becky who I hope was not in the damaged area cause I have been retired in NM and have not kept in touch. I just feel so sorry for all those in Greenfield.
Situations like this is why you should never be cold-hearted or mock others in their calamities. Today it might be me, but tomorrow it might be you. 🤕🤕🤕
So true. I have a sister and family in Greenfield, IN. I recognize how easily it could’ve been us in the devastation and my heart goes out to Iowa. Tears fall down and I send ❤️ love and prayers.🙏🙏 May every one be ever so kind and helpful to People and property of Greenfield, IA
@paulespinoza1994 they hate your guts. They hate 60% of other Americans guts, since Noon Eastern time on January 20, 2009. Listen to Mallory McMorrow's 4:43 minute speech from April 19, 2022. How did the USA ever get to the point, where Mallory McMorrow's speech was necessary ? The answer is Hate !
I'm in Oklahoma and saw your video in Barnsdall. You came upon a family who were on their porch and the ramp leading to the house was damaged and they couldn't get a quadriplegic family member out. You gathered up several people and got them to safety. I was taken aback by your kindness and your way of making them feel less helpless. I could see how relieved they were to know they were going towards safety. You were so respectful of their privacy by not showing their faces only if they wanted you too. You did a wonderful job. Now days the norm is a reporter who sticks a mic. in peoples faces when they are in shock and disbelief of what they just survived. They were glad to see you!
I appreciate you sharing and the kind words…I genuinely want people to be ok and to help if I can. One of the most important ways I believe is to show and share stories so more help comes quickly and more people can relate to and understand what happened
Man I could not even begin to imagine the fear and anxiety one would go through being in the pathway of a strong tornados then losing almost everything one owns. Dear God please wrap these families in your loving arms and help them during their recovery process. Grant them as much grace and support to get through this very traumatic weather event. Amen

I was caught in a real bad derracho about 10 years ago worst storm I've ever been in. Lived in a mobile home back then thought i was a goner. That day changed my whole outlook on storms an watches an warnings. I now live in a house with a full under ground basement i keep a bike helmet and safety glasses down there some water and peanut butter incase you would ever be trapped etc. Keep a solid plan and be able to access it in seconds if you have to. If you are ever caught in a violent storm it changes your outlook on these storms. So sad
Very kind of you, unfortunately there have been a few towns this year that have suffered like this that I have been in, like Sulfur and Barnsdall, OK…each equally horrible
Dear Lord, I am lying in my bed, very warm and cozy, watching the news and the terrible weather and what people are going through! I can only do one thing now and pray to God Almighty. Lord please give every person a clear sign of Your love. Give the people the strength to go forward, there is so much loss and damage, it is very sad to watch this and to see their faces and tears. With love from Cape Town SA.
It's very weird. I've watched and studied plenty of tornados but the videos are always after the fact. Yesterday I was watching multiple Livestreams and watching radar and it's just such an awful feeling to see the tornado form and track live as it is happening. Idk may just be me, but you just have such a sense of powerlessness. Pray that all those affected by this tornado can rebuild.
68 years old from Chgo. That was biggest I’ve ever seen. The arial shot of the swath through town. To know all victims in match stick rubble have not yet been found.
What truly baffles me is, mankind has come up with all kinds of things to better our lives with, from medical technology, electric vehicles, to A.I., but haven't figured out How to stop a tornado from touching down or even forming to begin with.
@@deirdrepasko9056 Definitely agree. I feel we could at least make sure all homes in the most vulnerable places on tornado alley have storm shelters. Ridiculous that our elected officials haven't done this yet. Not trying to make this a political issue, but just feel more can be done to protect people from these disasters. At least have a program in place for people to help pay for the shelters or something.
@@87mini no. We live in a fallen world because of original sin. I read and believe the Bible 100%. Things will continue to get worse according to the Bible. Only Jesus offers truth and hope.
Wouldn't say this if it weren't for the finger-waggy 'young lady!' thing. Grace of God doesn't extend to everyone, does it? How do you think a relative of one of the casualties would feel reading that?
It was because of her husband’s cousin she is alive. She dosent pay heed to weather statements and her husband even sid she probably wouldnt have even gone on the basement!….? Whats up with that? Willful ignorance….?🙄
@@davidwilson6577 YHVH decides when our time in this flesh suit, in this time/space continuum begins and when it ends. His purposes, His thoughts, His ways, are higher than our own. He is worthy of our praise regardless of whether our hearts are filled with pain or with joy.
We seriously need to encourage states to fund the construction of tornado shelters throughout communities that we know they are prone too. This is just so heartbreaking to watch and it feels like it will only get worse over time. Prayers to those families and thank you Jonathan for the heartfelt depiction
Yes for sure , especially since these tornados are hitting all states and cities now not just certain ones like before. our government needs to fund and built shelters
That line of devastation through the town gave me chills. What a terrifying sight! Hope Shae and her family, along with the rest of her neighbors, area able to recover. I put some money in the GoFundMe to help out. Hope others will too, but don't forget other local charities who can get assistance in quickly and where it's needed.
I watched this tornado live from Ryan Halls live stream I knew it was bad when the huge debris ball showed up on the radar. Glad most ppl got out with their lives.
@@JonathanPetramala It's done minus all of the sensationalism that is in mainstream media. I think that is what makes your storytelling so special. You are connecting with their experience and being affected by what you see. I feel that is very rare in journalism.
@@Yearofthetiger24026 Thank you, its why I am proud to be independent doing this so I can tell the stories the way I feel they should be...which is to show the reality and share the truth. I appreciate you recognizing the difference and thank you for the comment
I'm so happy that the young lady's family came and brought her to safety (as much as possible anyway) but scary to think that she wasn't already watching the radar with all of the warnings. I get that the news is depressing, but if he hadn't come to get her she might not have realized she need to take cover until it was on her. I hope she'll get an app and be alert if there is another storm in the future. Watching the hubby get emotional made me wonder how could one ever thank someone for running out into a tornado and pulling their wife and baby to safety. No words, money, gifts or favors could ever come close. I'm sure there are many other stories, perhaps even among strangers where people stepped up and helped. Ironic that a horrible tragedy can restore a little faith in humanity.
She said that was the first time in her life that she had ever Prayed. She said she only had time to say "Dear Lord" .... I believe that was enough. She is alive to tell her story. "THAT WAS ENOUGH"
Thank you, Jonathan. This has been such an ugly year for tornadoes. Every week over the last couple of months, there seems to be another damaging tornado (or more). Luckily the death toll has been relatively low because people are paying attention, and heeding warnings.
@@JonathanPetramala Yeah, I did not intend to seem like I was minimalizing any fatalities. One death is one too many. Especially for the friends, family, loved ones and community that person was a part of. From reports of Greenfield I've seen so far, it was an "everybody knows everybody" kind of community, and that makes any death very hard for everyone there. My condolences to all of them.
I know it's a little late now, but I wish everyone, especially people with babies and small children like that woman, would pay closer attention to watches and warnings (especially on high-risk days). We should never assume that it can't happen to us because it obviously happens to lots of people every year, all over the country. Whenever I hear about the potential for severe weather I make sure my phone, backup battery, headlamp and flashlight are charged, I have my identification and medications with me, and that I have decent shoes on. It also wouldn't hurt to have a helmet, bottled water, and some other supplies. We're lucky to have as much advanced warning as we do now, so we should take advantage of it. Ryan Hall, Y'all is a great channel to watch for sure
It’s a great reminder for us all to always have a plan for ourselves and families to react to weather impacts. Not only tornadoes but also wildfires, hurricanes, ect
Ypur on the ground coverage through these vicious tornados has been phenomenal.Prayers for these families who are enduring these tragedies and prayers for your strength because i know hearing these stories firsthand has to take its toll on you.
I really appreciate your kindness, it’s nothing compared to what the folks I meet are going through and they are generous enough to share time with me so I hope it helps them.
This breaks my heart. My heart goes out to all of you. God will provide, no matter what you’ve lost , you still have life and that is a lot to be thankful for. To all that may have lost a family member, you have my deepest condolences. Prayers for everyone.
In 2005, i was up in my bedroom oblivious, with a new baby, while my other children played outside. I had no internet, no weather radio, i was totally disconnected. A tornado went over my ridge and i only knew something was going on because suddenly the power was out and there were an unusual ammount of cars going by my home. Reason was the town a mile away got hit real bad by the Tornado and the roads were blocked! I was so upset. We had no basement and the thought if what i would have done if it had come my way haunted me. The next day i went to radio shack and bought a weather radio. A year later we moved to a house with a basement. That basement gives me such peace of mind in storms! Thanks for these videos. I love to see people being good humans, and this video showcases the best of humanity at the worst of times❤❤
I cried at the devastation these folks are going through. It’s hard to comprehend. I live in the Colorado mountains; so we don’t have natural disasters like this. Prayers for all.
I feel for all the families affected. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. I have family that live in Indiana, Ohio and Tennessee they have had to take shelter a couple of times this year. Ryan Hall and Max's channels have been working hard tracking these storms trying to keep people informed.
Not anything to do with you Religious Zealots. I thought God Is Love! Not sending violent A cts of Nature to pull people into Religeous CONTROL? HAPPENS EVERY TIME A WEATHER related tragedy occurs " God's Wrath upon the WICKED !" Repent" "You are so sinful God sent this upon you !" I believe YOU who torment these traumatized people with your Wicked comments about how their sin caused all this Are the " sinful,Shameful, Sick Ones! How dare you. You are about as Christian as Nothing close to Love and Mercy. Get off these Comments with your religious harassment. Totally inappropriate.
So incredibly sad. We put so much effort, resources, and heart into our HOME. Like the saying goes “home is where the heart is”. It’s such a loss. A loss for a long time.
California definitely has its own crazy weather and even at one point this year had more tornadoes than any other state, but it is good to share and show so we can hopefully have more empathy with other people, tornadoes in the Midwest, hurricanes in the south, fires and earthquakes out west
My husband and I survived the Minden, IA tornado on April 26. The generosity of fellow Americans was overwhelming. We lost one gentleman who died from his wounds while protecting his dear wife. Greenfield has suffered terribly. Whatever you can do to help the Greenfield survivors financially, materially and with your prayers would be greatly appreciated.
Gosh. This crazy storm. Glad people are safe. Just proof of why I stay fit- should I need to save myself from this crazy weather! Hope everyone is safe.
God protected many, many folks it seems. My heart is heavy for all the people impacted by this tornado disaster. Your courage and strength is amazing! God keep all of you in the coming days as you recuperate and support each other.
Prayers 🙏🏻 For all. It is difficult and overwhelming but know you will get through it. Take it one day at a time. My little town was hit twice, parent’s neighborhood was hit in 1991. We seen so many blessings of people coming together and helping, kindness, community compassion. Down the road from where my parent’s neighborhood was hit a mobile home park was hit. My husband and brother in law went to it with pipe wrenches to shut off gas lines. They helped dig a guy out with a 2x4 through him. They cleared a path to the ambulance, he survived! My own father didn’t want to go to my sister’s home but he finally gave in. A shard of glass about the size of a basketball, shaped like a triangle went through the center of his recliner where he would have been sitting from the picture window. We definitely have learned to take tornadoes seriously. The tornado in 1991 the Salvation Army treated my parents neighborhood very well with help, kindly people. Be kind to yourself and accept, the help you can get, but be careful of people that want to steal or take advantage of your situation. Just know you’re in a lot of peoples prayers.
5 deaths. 35 injured. EF4 with 185mph winds. At age 11, I went through my first tornado on a farm near where these tornadoes started. My 3 siblings and I were home alone. My youngest sibling was just an infant. This was 1984 when it was more acceptable to leave your kids home alone for a period of time. We were lucky. Our house had some minor damage but our farm took significant damage. And my dad watched it helplessly from a few miles away. I can still remember his yelling, practically screaming for us when he arrived. He couldn’t see our house because of all the trees around our farm so when he came up on an entire roof blocking the gravel road he thought it was our house. Scarred me for life
@@JonathanPetramala thank you for putting out their stories. It’s important to get this exposure to help them rebuild. It’s beyond sad to see so many of my fellow Iowans going through this. I’ve been in two other tornadoes since I was that little kid. I also have taken care of a storm chaser who was struck by lightning several years ago while he and his son were chasing here in Western Iowa. The hospital ER I worked at actually was in a tornado warning and we had a tornado/funnel above us at the time he was struck by lightning across town. We had our sliding doors sucked off their tracks, our ambulance doors wouldn’t open due to the suction and we literally had the mothership over the top of us. I watched it circulating when I came into work and had to speed to get to work only for it to create major havoc. The man survived. He had a lot of medical issues from it but I heard from him about 6 months later and he was making improvements. Keep telling the stories.
It's just so surreal. So sad, thanks for sharing. We're in WI and had to take cover as well. Our NWS kept cutting into programming, as well as our favorite news station really teamed up to keep our area safe. Our windspeeds were clocked at 90mph.
its hard to see anything like this... but when you live just a few feet. from a house that no longer exists it makes you wonder what you should/could do/have done. what's worse is not knowing. this storm system moved into wisconsin and we lost contact with an entire town. no information on what happened to it, and still no idea how bad the damage is. . we also have no idea what happened to another town that we are only now finding out also got hit by a tornado. this was not a good storm for us in the midwest. we always say that tornados are more destructive than a hurricane and i think this is just a good example of that
@JonathanPetramala it was. A friend of mine never even knew what was going on. He was sitting watching TV and suddenly he got news reports of tornado warnings. He said he never even knew what was going on. His house started shaking, and the poll she'd started rattling and the sound of twisting metal. He said it felt like it all happened within 15 minutes of the reports. He looked out, and his poll sheds roof was gone, and the barn was gone. He never had a chance to make it to the basement
Aww ya'll! *hugs* How incredibly intense and traumatic to experience and survive through. I pray for the lives lost and for those wounded to recover in God's Good Timing.
