A very good video, Mike does a great job presenting everything you need to know. I was impressed. Mike, wear a bright Hawaiian shirt......just ....say'n.......
The old saying, "Use the least aggressive product to get the job done" comes to mind. I would recommend cleaning a top like I show first before super heating the fibers that make up a convertible top and any and all chemicals applied by the factory. -Mike Phillips
Here's good rule of thumb for any part of your car... "Frequent car care is easy car care" And faster too. I'd start right away if it were mine, it certainly won't hurt anything. Most people don't do anything and then when the top starts looking ugly look for a "miracle" product. -Mike Phillips
Autogeek hi I’m here in PSL. My 2012 Fiat Gucci 500C the top is floppy. I can see where the glue came apart from the top. Only in two places. Do you do that work? If so shall I call or come by
@Kevin172737 I'm going to guess you mean the "plastic" back window and not the front or side glass windows. The answer is "no" as long as you use common sense just like you should use with any tool used on a car. Also, you're supposed to soak the Boars Hair Brushes for 30 minutes before use to soften the natural hairs. -Mike
Hi MIke - In between applying the fabric protector, what is the best way to keep the top clean and make sure it doesn't get stained? Should I vacuum the top and apply the fabric cleaner on a weekly basis or will this just remove the protector, requiring that it be reapplied? Thanks for the help.
Hi i have a 2003 Boxster , when rains heavily and continuously the canvas gets saturated and leaks inside. I understand there is a rubber sheet membrane included in the top as a layer of leakage protection. Will this product stop the leaks?
Hello, just curious as to how to get rid of oil stains on my convertible top. I have tried simple green, Dawn, Meguiars top cleaner and nothing is working. Please help!
Does anyone no how to correct a water burn on a convertible cloth top.my detail tech came to close to the top with the pressure wand, and made marks from the water.i call it water burn marks
Huh? What do you mean when you say a top will "cause" problems? Do you mean convertible tops require more maintenance than a painted convertible hard top? -Mike Phillips
seriously folks. just take your car to your local carwash. by the time you drive home the top is dry, then simply buy a bottle of fabric repellent of your choice and spray/saturate your top in the sun and your done.
Raggtop is garbage for canvas! Use Fabric 303. Total waste of money buying this Raggtop kit. The spray is fine and thin and meant more for new cars then anything with more then 2 years.
I see a lot of videos with people using pressure washers on their cloth/canvas tops for rinsing? This has always caused damage to mine. How do they use these without fraying the top/making it fuzzy?
