I show people who think that Tyson was just a brute this kind of stuff, and it always surprises them to find out how elite his technical skills actually were. One of the best at slipping punches in all of boxing history.
@@Batell6850 It's the precision that gets me - he'd make you miss, but only just! I remember hearing that when you duck and weave a hook perfectly, you should feel the underside of their glove just scrape the top of your hair, and if it misses entirely you've dipped too far down and your precision is off...
In today's era people doesn't know how amazing was mike Tyson.. He had magnificent skills, speed and power..that we couldn't see in today's era heavyweight ..
Tysons famous head movement actually involved his whole body, from top to toe. He had great movement and balance on his feet. It’s also clear his huge strong legs, hips and body core generated great torque and power in his punches combined with his massively underrated footwork. In training Teddy’s jab comes at Tyson with proper metronome timing, no pause, no allowances, no bullshit, all business. If Tyson fooked up, he got an embarrassing jab in the face as punishment, just to do better next time. It’s basic old school but still a perfect system.
That’s the definition of head movement. Head movement isn’t moving your head around by moving your neck…. It’s moving your body such that the head is not stationary in the same location.
He could be but he was nothing close to it. Tyson could be the greatest of all time but he wasted his MONSTER potential. Dont be biased and stick to facts
Am a amateur boxer and I've been practicing the peek-a-boo style for 3 years now, and I always wondered how did Mike Tyson used to move his head consistently that fast, he must've had great upper body movement
Tyson’s whole body was moving in unison, it’s deceptive, but that’s basically the reality. The level of concentration, and timing needed burns up a lot of energy. It will makes you super fit but only when done right and consistently. Tyson made it look easy in fights only because he already did the brutally hard work in training and was expert in that dept. since he was a teenager.
Cus found the perfect style of movement to maximize the strengths of Tysons build and physique. Not everybody can replace it. You have to be built like Tyson.
этот стиль создан для Майка , а Майк создан для этого стиля . Майк раскрыл всю его красоту , и еще раз доказал что бокс это великое искусство , спасибо Касу что он смог найти и раскрыть такой талант
And that head movemoment, the speed he had to get in side the lateral movement to create huge opening started to slowly disappear after Kevin Rooney was let go as trainer and Don King was hiring him trainers. Post prison it was gone and he was going straight in looking for that one big shot getting hit more, the stuff that made him deadly wasn’t really there
You can learn more from watching Mike Tyson Drills than almost any other fighter ….as stated above he was a great technical fighter todays heavyweights wouldn’t handle Mike in his Prime
Truthful I think Kevin Rooney was loosing his control i.e. (training, coaching, mentoring) over Tyson he couldn't reel Mike back, his head and ego was just too untameable.
I'm sure his feet and back had done gotten pretty bad by then. Remember shit wears out over time especially when you are at that pace and level. The wear and tear is taxing.
Funny I was just telling my wife the other day that she was very similar to prime Mike Tyson, she said really, I said yeah baby your head movement is incredible. Your technique is absolutely flawless.
That PEEKABOO Hitting off the Angles Cus Style lol... slip outside of the opponent's shoulders, because that is where all the punches come from, you need to weave under the elbows as again, that is where the punches come from. Don't focus on your opponents head, as that is not the thing attacking you. Focus on the chest, when the chest Flexis, you Bob, duck... Cus would say. If you Lay in the middle, your head is a target, so Bob, duck... but don't just stay there, your supposed to be hitting, so straight away get to the sides, move left or right and get into that position where you can hit them and they can't hit you, from the side's they can't hit you, so hit them with everything you got, because they can't hurt you. From the side's you have a chance to put in three perfect punches, uppercut hook hook. After you hit, you don't want to just stand there, you need to immediately switch to the next position around the opponent or weave across to the opponents opposite side and hit again, keep the flow going, keep switching, Flanking the opponents sides where he has no defence or offence... you got to be smart, you got to be clever and not get hit, then your a fighter,,,, not getting hit is what the science of boxing is all about, confusing the enemy, taking him out his own comfort zone, making him slow... You got to learn to weather the storm with good head movement, your head is never where the opponent last seen it... Action is faster than reaction, so keep your head in constant motion, control the unpredictable storm coming at you... Footwork, it's all about the hip's lol, plus work off an upside down triangle chalked out on the floor would help you learn to flank the opponents sides. Understanding how to easily and effortlessly close the distance down to getting to the sides, Stalking the opponent, pressure and smothering your opponents, making then cover up so you can take them unaware, moving very cleverly and effortless to the sides where you can hit them and they can't hit you... avoid, move in and bam bam bam... You need to keep a low centre of gravity, keep low to the ground so you can fire, hit upwards with great power and leverage.. plus from down there, you can see the punches coming. The lower you are, the less of a target you are. In this style, we don't travel straight down the middle of the pipe or in other words, Never Lay in the Middle... but instead instead only travel to the left or right outside angles where they can't hit us back. As they turn to face you, twist or spring.. keep outside of there shoulder, because that is where the power comes from. And when they prepare themselves to reset themselves to face you, hit them half way through there PREPARATION OF ATTACK.. halfway before completion to catch them by surprise. P.s,, Dip or Slip the straight punches coming at you, and weave under the hooks whilst trying to shoot forwards into that left or right outside angle,, flanking the opponents sides... DONT BE AFRAID TO GET TO THE SIDES !!!...
