Today's video is going to be a funny one - where a millennial attempts to find gen z approved jeans (LOL)! With the recent cancellation of skinny jeans (this is a joke, they're not actually cancelled haha, I actually personally never liked skinny jeans so I'm happy about this new jeans trend but wear whatever works for you because it's just clothes), I've been trying to find the perfect pair of baggy jeans or wide leg jeans that would be "gen z approved". I'm not actually looking for approval, I'm just having a bit of fun with a trend of jeans. I decided to try on a few pairs of midsize / plus size friendly, size 14/size 16, wide leg baggy jeans and see if I can find a pair I love! Hope you enjoy xoxoxo

I thrift about 90% of my clothes and I take about 20% to a tailor. She knows that I thrift and gives me a discount (she loves to see what I find). It definitely takes some work to find a tailor, but once you find a good one it can be AMAZING. I get so many compliments on the clothes that I have had tailored, particularly my vintage dresses.

Bigger jeans sizes never fit like they’re supposed to be 😑 at least on me. I remember looking for jeans as a quizzical quest. I pretty much owned every shape and cut and despite the fact that I used to live in jeans they never looked perfect. Lol now I don’t remember the last time I wore them. These days I’m more excited about 1906 fashion than 2006.

I'll be honest, the whole rivalry thing between Gen Z and Millennials is so random and unnecessary. I'm part of Gen Z and every time a millennial brings up the "controversy" of skinny jeans and middle parts I just get aggravated at judgmental Gen Z tiktok. I guarantee you most people in Gen Z don't care at all what jeans you wear. I think whatever makes you the most happy and confident is great! Debating over people's personal styles is so unnecessary and I wish they would stop lmao

Gen Z doesn't care or actually talk about this. EVERY time I hear about this "controversy", it's from a millennial (I'm a millennial btw) and it's so cringe. I looked in the comments to see if baggy crotch was how the look is supposed to be, because if it is, I'm not about that life! But no one really gave any answers hah. I think you pull off this baggy jean look off well. You really do have a cool trendy style! I fall more into the 'grade school teacher from 10 years ago' vibe haha!

I just don’t think these kind of jeans are flattering on anyone. Didn’t like them in the 90’s still don’t like them. But that’s just my taste. I’m sticking with my skinny jeans they look much more flattering on me

I’ve seen tons of people from gen z wearing skinny jeans, so don’t buy into it. All those teenagers on tiktok making fun of what jeans someone wears are just judgmental and bored.

This is the dumbest argument and sorry I look a thousand times better in skinny jeans than I ever will in mom jeans or any high rise for that matter. Call me old call me out of fashion don’t call me at all I don’t care lol Just wear what you want

I like the men's best. Mostly because of the way they fit and also because they're more straight leg, whereas the Asos ones are tapered. Would love to see a video on taking them to a tailor.

I think the crotch issue is caused by the 'curve' style. There's more room for the butt which translates to bagging in the crotch

I struggle with the crotch bunching all the time 😩 I feel like part of it is the way my tummy is shaped and the jeans just aren't meant to cater to that shape. It's hella frustrating.

I feel like we’ve been “over estimating” our size for so long now because we weren’t able to get jeans in our size that were cute. Trendy retailers would have a size 14/XL Jean as like an xxxl I feel like they are finally starting to get with the program but it does make it harder to get the right size now that you got used to those of size probs lol.
@v.llamas

Also a tailoring video would be so much fun! You could shorten the hem on those jeans you like and I’m also thinking for those size 12 you like they might be able to move the button over and make them fit your waist because I agree, they do look super cute!

I like the last pair the best but the gathering at the crotch is odd. My mom's and seamstress and this is called the "rise", "crotch length", or "seat". It's more than just the measurement from the crotch to waist; it's more like the depth of the jeans if you think of them three dimensionally. A tailor can adjust it for you but I know that can be a tricky alteration. Taking in the waist of the last pair would be much simpler.

As an elder millennial, I'm so happy wide leg and flares are back. I was sad when the low rise jeans became a thing in the 2000s. Like why wear jeans? if they barely sit on your body? LOL!!! I'm talking low rise and super low rise. But I miss my 90s jeans so much. I'm so glad they're back. I just wish they'd reach the ankles. That's all I ask. Ankle length pants. I'm tired of cold ankles.

You should try out the pin on buttons that you can add anywhere on the waist to make it tighter! I got mine on Amazon and I love them because my jeans fit differently as the seasons go on and it helps me get the best waist fit

I have the same problem and I think it’s part of having a straight cut rather than curvy body! If it’s good in the leg it’s too tight in the waist and if it fits in the waist the legs are wayyyy too baggy. I honestly have the best luck with the American Eagle 90s boyfriend cut (at least in the shorts), would recommend trying :)
