Same . My biggest fear is regretting having a child . Then regretting not having one. If I do change my mind I’ll adopt or foster or just volunteer . Definitely don’t want to be pregnant and have my seed on this planet.

I love people that made this decision. Too many women get pressured by family and friends. And of course some have the natural desire to have kids. So really saying you don't want kids is different and I love it.

When you think of it as having " people" rather than kids, it sounds even more unappealing. Kids are just people and people can be a lot of hassle and aggro.

That’s the way I’ve always seen it. Babies are nothing special. They’re just un evolved people that you are responsible for 24/7. And u don’t get to choose their personality Haha No thanks. I like to choose the people I let into my life. And there aren’t very many people I enjoy being around. I prefer to be alone 99% of the time. I believe the women who want kids only think of the baby and child stages. They don’t really think beyond that. At least the reality of it. They like to romanticize everything.

What a smart girl! I'm glad she shuts people own when they give her the BS about "you'll change your mind" blah blah blah. It's like people who have kids, regardless of if they wanted them or not, want everyone else to be as miserable as they might be. I _still_ get people who tell me I'll change my mind or regret it, and it has never happened. I have no regrets and still don't want kids. Chad and I were at the grocery just yesterday and heard a baby screaming...I cannot say how grateful I was that I could get away from it with zero guilt. Kids are a choice, not a requirement. :)

I'm glad she feels comfortable enough to shut down conversations that make her uncomfortable as well. It's a personal decision and sometimes people just get too pushy!

When I told my Mum that I don't want kids, her response was a light-hearted "I know." Anyone not willing to accept your choice doesn't know you.

I’m 14, don’t want kids. “You will change your mind”, “but I want grandkids”, “you’ll never feel the same love you’ll feel for your own child”. I’ll adopt if I decide I want kids, I don’t need my own. I’ll stick to my decision haha.

As someone who was abused by my parents, I can tell you the “you’ll never feel the same love” argument is bull. All love is different but healthy love and respect between two or more people, regardless of their relationship dynamic, is valid.

I was 13 when I first told my parents I didn't want kids, and they said all the same things. Now I'm 27, and I still don't want kids. Nobody knows you better than you.

She is so correct about the media and religion being too much of an influence. I used to think I had no choice but to have children, being in a high demand religion. I took that power back when I left and realized that it IS a choice and I am happy for it. 26, childfree, enjoying my hobbies and free time, no regrets!

I could never make much sense out of FOMO...I mean, whatever you do in life, you will always be missing out on sth, because life is finite and there are almost endless possibilities...no one tells you how sad it is that you will never live on your own island or how sad it is that you will never become president of your country, or that you will never be a ballerina, etc. Why would FOMO about having children be more important than any other experiencies you might have had???? Many parents are missing out on a lot of things that CF people are not, but that is not sad???

I am 40 this year, and my life just didn't turn out that way. I started thinking about having children in my mid thirties but just because my mum and people kept telling me that I didn't have much time left..But I thought to myself that if I've been just fine all my life without kids then why would I change that? I realised that I don't really want children. It's like if I got pregnant, it will probably be ok, but If I don't then I don't. I don't have that deep desire people say all women should have to be a mum. I can't see myself as a mother, when I think of myself, I see myself in a totally different way, not at all like a mum. I am so glad that I found your channel. I am just so sick of all the pressure society is putting on women..

The pressure can be overwhelming at times. It's so important to just think about what you want to do and do it regardless of what everyone else says.

So many people go into parenthood just because and that's SO unfair to the child. I worked as a nanny through university and grad school and I saw first hand how horrible that is for a child. I love children and that's why I won't have them. All children deserve to be 100% wanted

I consider myself Gen Z, 22 years old and I realized that I have a career I want to pursue, and having kids would make it more difficult to achieve. Not to mention I want to buy my own house/studio someday, plus I have always wanted to travel and just enjoy life in general. I also enjoy learning new skills, I want to learn coding when I am done with college.

I respect that she was honest with her boyfriend about it. That's been the hardest 1 for me because it typically ends of the relationship right there. Finding a young woman that wants to be CF is damn-near impossible. Is there a forum y'all hang out at? 😉

When I told my mom I don't want children, she said "me neither!" It was actually like this :"I didn't really wanted children either, but..your father, religion, it happened..." 😁

I'm 24 now and my opinion on having kids has totally evolved over the years. I met my fiance and wanted kids but now I don't want any because of cost, responsibility, peer pressure and how emotionally taxing it can be just thinking of a child. My dog is enough. I thoroughly enjoyed this discussion. It's very insightful

What a great interview! Very similar experience - just never planned on having kids and never factored them in. The expensive hobby callout is important. Sometimes your lifestyle and having kids just won't match and I think that's totally ok to choose one or the other!

In African cultures, women are reared from a young age to be mothers and caregivers. I knew when I was eight years old that I didn't want kids, I had no desire to take care of anyone or anything. I fully accepted that fact in my early twenties. Fortunately, my understands and is actually supportive of me not having kids because she raised 7 kids by herself. Plus, I don't like kids lol.

This is great Hanna. Thank you both. It's always relieving to hear others share their view on being CF ♥️ One of the hardest things I find about dealing with pressure from others is the mental rumination that comes with being told that the choice of being CF is probably not a good one. But when it comes down to it, only I can see the potential of my future and only I can steer my decisions towards living a fullfilled life.

Thanks for making this video like always! :) This is an awesome conversation to listen to, and I certainly wished that more people would the benefits to not having kids. BTW, there are many women throughout history who've chosen to forgo motherhood and instead of giving the world life; gave the world themselves entirely which is courageous and incredibly mature in my personal opinion.

I L💖VED the video! I thought it was super duper informative & interesting!🥰 (As someone who personally does REALLY wants kids just looking for that “soulmate 💕” lol!) I also really liked how you guys talked about different people having different reactions to the childfree life! I just wanted to say I never really understand where ppl come from when they get super judgmental on others not having kids. After all I always think that nobody is born a parent lol! Even if you do become a parent you have lived apart of your life without kids. To become a parent you had to have at least be in your teens..... And obviously some people wait & of course life circumstances can delay the journey to parenthood (finding a partner, infertility ext...). So I never understand why it can be seen “so weird”. After all EVERY SINGLE person has lived quite a few years NOT having kids. And I bet their life was perfectly normal before kids (and after! lol!) 💕💖🥰✨💕💖🥰✨🥰💖💕🥰✨

Great interview! CF is a choice and hate how it’s been politicized. It’s definitely hard as a Christian conservative women to become CF. I will probably be around kids for a long time because I’m a teacher. They’re my kids.

Yeah . . .always thought you would be great at interviewing Hannah!! sidenote: I def. knew by age 15, but think it was way before as was not even into the whole 'doll' phase like most girls. Then started babysitting at age 12 and really was not into it (yes---back-in-the-day people handed over babies & kiddos to kids at age TWELVE whom did a basic first aid/babysitting course).

Lol they gone have to break up. The fact that they have had several conversations about kids and it's caused 'strain' on the relationship means he doesn't accept or respect her firm decision to not have children. He thinks he can or will change her mind.
