It’s hard to describe how epic this scene is. This ability felt so broken you wondered how you would ever beat him, then you see this flash back and watch Minato absolutely wreck him in a matter seconds.. so legit!!

Minato is the perfect example of hard work and talent. He had no crazy eyes or clan power just pure skills and intelligence

Honestly, Minato is the only character in the Naruto universe that doesn't use some sorta crazy plot armor or inexplainable power. He's the definition of true talent. Not some crazy genetics like sharingan, hashirama cells, crazy chakra reserves, etc. He's just really good at being a ninja and that's it.

Minato really was on a different level. In minutes he analyzed the situation and the enemy, formed a plan and executed it flawlessly. What took Naruto and everyone else what seems like hours to figure out.

my favorite part is the fact that a flying raijin mark never goes away even after death, so the fact that minato was able to use it during the war was crazy

I love how Tobi is doing the typical villain monologue and Minato just continues the attack because he is not finished. It's refreshing to see the hero not wait for the villain to stop talking.

The Flying Raijin has always been such a cool jutsu to me. Easily one of the coolest in the series

That Rasengan is simply LEGENDARY One of the best animation i EVER seen

What a phenomenal fight scene. Short and simple, but that's exactly what makes it great. We get to see how he process and breaks down the situation. That's a basic trope to explain the mechanism behind power/abilities in almost all anime. We always get to see characters thinking or talking during fights scenes. But what sets this apart is how it was written. It's straighforward and precise. Exactly how we see Minato as a character, and one of the traits on why he's almost anyone's favorite. He was in a hurry, and we felt that urgency all through out. But the way he was thinking of dealing with the situation was calm and collected contrasting to the chaos of what's around him. We get to see his thought process and from it, he excecuted a perfect attack without wasting a second. Not an overbearing flaunt of power. Just a pure display of technical prowess. 👏

Not only did he figure out kamui in seconds, he also broke the anime fight rule of letting your opponent talk before attacking

Him catching the Kunai and looking down as he’s about to hit obito with the rasengan gives me chills every time

1:35 it's showed as triumphant moment with this music, but it's heart wrenching when you realize Minato is fighting Obito without knowing it

Still one of the best fight scenes in all of anime. Hands down.

Minato is so technical. The most proficient ninja in my opinion. Doesn't waste time at all. Managed to analyze Kamui in seconds, beat Obito, stab Obito, take Kurama off of his control all within seconds. What an efficient ninja. And best of all, no special clan or nothing. Just the best!

Can we just appreciate the fact that Minato completely understood his technique and counterd it in only one move like a boss. It took others ages to do this. Edit: DAAAAAMN. i was out of my account for a while. 8k likes???? im mind blown.

The most underrated aspect of this fight was Obito knowing Minato's techniques while Minato prepared himself to fight who he thought was Madera.

Minato has no backstory, he is just good at everything. Despite this he is humble.

In the Narutoverse no one can make Minato doubt in battle, he doesn't necessarily need to know if the opponent is strong, he just needs to believe in his abilities and adapt them to each fight.

Figured out Obito's ability and how to counter it in one engagement, and successfully pulled it off by himself in the next engagement - Minato was seriously awesome.

That's a real genius, took him 15 seconds to figure out kamui and subsequently BODY Obito who at this point was amped by hashirama cells.

Minato and Itachi are the most op ninja. What they had in common was their ability to stay calm, analyse and plan theur next move in seconds.

In two minutes Minato figured out Kamui, beat Obito and separated him from Kurama. This is the ninja of the legends.

If you remove the thinking part and the slow downs, It's insane to think about how fast everything goes down. Minato goes through Obito once, immediately analyzes and understands Obito's technique, then throws the Kunai and goes for the counter which also sets up the seal removal from the ninetails. In in-universe time all this happens in like 20-25 seconds or so. Truly the yellow flash of Konoha

Minato literally figured Tobi's ability and how to defeat him in like 2 mins and then went and stopped the kyuubi he really is overpowered like that's why he had to die or the Akatsuki would just straight up be annihilated.

The most underrated fact about Minato is that he never reached his peak prime times as a shinobi. He was 24 when he died; yet his achievements and powers are iconic, legendary and simply next level. If he had stayed alive and entered his prime years, he might even surpass Hashirama in terms of Hokage prowess.

To be fair, for a 14 year old Obito to battle his sensei Minato who is way above his league is impressive on his own... Offcourse, he would took an L against Minato but a 14 year old Obito who only had 1 eye controlling the 9 Tails and able to put up a fight against this beast of a Shinobi Minato is great

This man came from a regular clan that on one knows Abt he invented he rasengan he's as fast as can be he knows legendary justu and fought his student thinking his student was Madara with no fear his battle iq is the stuff of legend The anime killed him off cuz he was too strong to be left alive Imagine he kept living and learning he could've been much much stronger

I see why the writer had to have him killed. I truly believe with him around there wouldn’t be a show. He would’ve stopped the Coup of the Uchiha(with Itachi & shisui on his side) without killing the entire clan, and it would’ve also kept Itachi from leaving. That alone would’ve deterred Orochimaru from attacking the village the way he did, the akatsuki would’ve been stopped much sooner, Sauske wouldn’t have left, Pain wouldn’t have destroyed the village especially with Minato, Itachi, shisui, Kakashi, Naruto, 3rd Hokage(he wouldn’t have died), Might Guy, & Sauske around. There’s no way. Naruto & Sauske would’ve still inherited Indra & Ashura wills, and would have Minato & Itachi there with them to still guide them 🔥. He literally has to die to make the show. Crazy

Something I didn't notice before is I bet Obito was really happy when he said "I win" he believed he was able to finally defeat his teacher only to have it slip pass him in the last second. He still saw him as his sensei

Since the episode of this fight scene was first aired till now, this fight is still and will continue to be one of the best fight scenes I've ever seen in this anime.

Something I find interesting about the Kyuubi continuing to rampage after being freed is that it makes sense to me from his perspective. Think about it at this point, Kurama would've spent the last 50 or so years trapped in a seal & while we don't know what Mito's seal was like for him we know that Kushina's was pretty bad. To me it makes sense that even after being freed he'd want to destroy Konoha considering just how long he's been trapped there before leaving. Plus we also have to consider that he probably didn't immediately realise he was free and was just responding to being attacked

Minato is like the batman of the naruto world. No crazy superpowers like others just uses his brain

It took years of careful observation from Konan to even understand Obito's jutsu and Minato does it in a few minutes of fighting him. The way Kishi wrote Minato's ability and how he crafted this fight made the wait to see him in action worth it. All those years hyping this character up and to pay off massively. Kishi, you are a genius.

While they're fighting, Kurama is still destroying the Leaf Village.

Minato's moves is not short sighted He looks in the long term Hit obito + put a raijin mark on obito + able to get close to obito again while releasing 9 tails He's a genius

Minato is such a satisfying character. It's sad we never got to see how he grew up and what he experienced. Imagine a full story of him in anime form.
