Not sure what I'm enjoying most...your advice...your playing style...or the beautiful courses you're playing on...Thank you for sharing all three with us. :-)
I've come to realize my mindset has been a bigger handicap than my lack of ball striking ability. I've been throwing away stokes simply because I didn't have the golf IQ to take the proper shots. Gen, your efficiency both on and off the course is impressing me. No wasted words with each sentence providing valuable insight. Thank you for helping make golf even more fun for me.
@@GenevieveLingGolf as if one could get tired of watching your videos, and often more than once! Keep focused, LPGA is a goal (realistic) not a dream !
Thanks Gen, another great video! I've been trying to teach a new golfer that score is not important. If you've made a good decision and you didn't score well, that's part of golf...take away the good and leave the bad. Please keep the videos coming 😊
You helped me rethink how I plan a round of golf. I play too much hit and hope golf. i have to be realistic about what is par for me. I enjoy learning how you think your way around a course, thanks
Another great video Gen. Whenever you talk through your thought process I imagine numbers and mathematical equations floating in the air with the X-Files theme song playing in the background. I love it. Thanks for the tips!! 👏
Nice work Gen. Such a great reminder to focus on the shot rather than 'my score' for the hole. Hope your preparation and practice is going well and you are making great connections. Go Gen🙂
Great advise/wisdom concerning par 5 holes! I had one of my best rounds going yesterday with a goal to break 80, then I hit the par 5. Put to much pressure on myself and came out with a double bogie. Ended up shooting an 81. Will definitely take this advise to the course next round.
Even if viewers take on 10% of your course management advice, they would see improvement in their game and enjoyment of the sport. Always fantastic watching. Thankyou
You didn't mention this in the video, but one the short par 5 shot, the tree in the center of the fairway could be seen behind you you when you were talking about the second shot; you ht your number! I love the attitude that a putt is a putt and you take the hole one shot at a time. I should keep bth these things in mind when I play, it'd save a lot of frustration!
It’s always really good to hear how a pro breaks down the tasks ahead - and then only on each part in turn to achieve the outcome. Calm, assured thinking - if only!!! (Oh and a sneaky cuss too - been missing those😂)
Thanks Gen, nice idea for a video. I see you ended up being “tap-in-Gen” in both scenarios, some things don’t change! And the wind made you look far less warm than you used to look back home 😄
Noticed that you used your left eye when you zapped the distance to the tree. I wonder if you are left eye dominant and contributes to your consistent putting.
Hey Gen… is it funny that what I noticed most about this video is that you use your right hand to hold your rangefinder and your left eye to look into the rangefinder? Do I have OCD? Ummm… yeah I must have OCD. ☠️🥸
I'm bad at golf ☹️ I wanted to goto your side of the world to play but I noticed that non locals are like £80 per round and locals is only £5 which made me angry of the discrimination against tourists on a high scale
@@GenevieveLingGolf I looked in Thailand not Malaysia, I remember seeing a local price for residents being similar to £5 and a "tourist" price of around £80 which made me kinda angry because im not a rich golfer and the reason I would go for a holiday is because I could afford it if it was £25/30 per round and not £80. With the flying and other costs it's harder to persuade your mates to come with you 😅😅 Out of curiosity what is the price for some of the courses you've been playing in the USA? I watch "Stacked golf" and they're a couple of nice people who goto thrift stores etc and pick up some really good clubs for next to nothing! I'm shocked at the resale value of golf equipment in the USA 😯
@@mmaranta785 you mean they're paying more than they should do? I don't think that's fair, it would be more fair if it was not 16x more for foreign players. For eg, if I was from Switzerland £80 is nothing... (A simple burger king meal costs £30 in Switzerland) but in the UK £80 is mega money! I guess they only want to attract rich tourists? Makes sense
@@johnnyboy2459 In Thailand the resort courses are much cheaper than resort courses in the US, for example $100 US dollars a round. But in the US, I never play at resort courses, I play at municipal courses which are $20 for nine holes and $30-$40 for 18 holes. The Thai resort courses are aimed at mainly Korean and Japanese golfers who pay way more in their own country. That being* said, the Thai courses are in great shape and I like having a caddy. There are a couple of non resort courses in Chiang Mai where you can play nine for $25 and 18 for $40 or $50
