MINI Cooper R53 to R56 brake swap 

Don’t need to remove caliper from bracket or even remove the line or pads...just remove the two bolts that hold the bracket on, then remove the rubber line from the steel line and toss the entire set up into the box your r56S calipers came in and return for the core charge. You can also preload your r56S calipers with the pads while attatched to the bracket and just drop it over the rotor and tighten the bracket bolts down... Eliminates a few steps

FYI He is right that the "r53 caliper is [similar] to the r56 except the carrier". But truth is the r56 came with a larger diameter piston as well... so more stopping power. Some aftermarket r56 calipers have the smaller (same as r53) diameter caliper diameter. So if you want the true equivalent of the JCW spec on the "poor man" brake upgrade... make sure you get the larger diameter piston (I think it is ~47mm rather than like ~38mm... big difference buaat bolts up the same)

the only thing I would do different is wait to cinch down the new brakeline until after the caliper is mounted, that way the hose wont twist. how much larger are the r56 rotors?

Put a short stick btw the seat front and the brake pedal, with pressure applied (holding the pedal at maybe 20-30% travel) it’ll keep fluid from running during line change.

Can you do a tutorial next on how to change a tire?

I guess they would fit on a R50, too? How about the rear brakes? Calipper, Carrier, brake line, Disc and pads, right?

Why not remove the caliper and bracket as am assembly ?

hey I'm wondering how can I upgrade to 5 lug in my r56?

Lots of inside wear on those front tires, camber off? I have a 2002 Mini Cooper S. Is the difference that noticable? I was thinking slotted and drilled R53 discs and ceramic pads for my next upgrade. ($150 for the parts.) Is this a better choice?

You only bleeded the front caliper? ... Thought once you undo a brake pipe, your supposed to bleed the whole system starting from the rear of the car.

In the tool part of video, I did not see a sawsall or grinder anywhere? That's what it took to get my rotors off! Rust makes the rotor bolts impossible to get out.
