It’s easy to understand how someone wouldn’t want to let the public know that their family member has died in a way that doesn’t make them look in a way they want their family want them remembered. My brother died because of overdose and we didn’t want to let that information out at first. I know a lot of people who died the same way in 2020 dude to fentanyl and their families told everyone it was covid because they didn’t want them known as an addict or something or another. And these are the deaths that happened in the city.

Former vol. Search and Rescue team member. It does not at all surprise me that remains are not found. You can be standing literally ten feet from someone in the spring and summer and never see them. Vegetation is damned near impossible to see through for more than a foot or three and if you're not standing right on top of a body, you can walk right by it and never see it.

I have 2 mates who work with the police. One is a fine guy, who just does admin paperwork. He has told us about the corrupt people he knows of. One time in the pub we got speaking to these older gentlemen and when he said he just started working for the police one of them asked if he was in "the secret police", his words not mine. The other has been there for 5 months as an actual street cop. He has already told me multiple stories that make him sound like a bully/ corrupt. When I say this he defends himself by saying he didn't break any rules or code. Yeah, it's designed that way.

I camped alone at former WW2 German POW camps and Japanese internment camps in national forests. I camped alone in Mississippi and Florida national forests where I visited rural crossroads at midnight. I have stayed alone at the oldest graveyards in America. I have spent months camping alone in national forests all across the country, deliberately tempting fate and supernatural forces. Here is a list of dangers I faced in order of severity; Cops / rangers, criminals, locals, homeless people, weather, wildlife. Notice, the top four slots are filled by malicious humans. The fifth slot is occupied by something completely indifferent. The sixth slot is filled by a curious cougar and some rutting deer. I was shot at by locals, chased out of town by good ole boys with badges, threatened by illegal foresters and poachers, and robbed by the homeless but Chupacabra and sasquatch apparently found me unappetizing. Potential alien abductors judged there was nothing to be learned from probing me. Apparently, Satan values my soul not at all (or already has it, who can tell?). No ghosts anywhere, wicked humans everywhere, you be the judge.

@@CStelTV Friend, I am not attempting to devalue your experiences, I am merely sharing my own anecdotal experiences which are relevant to this video, supernatural events inside national parks and forests. I was raised inside what some people call the Bridgewater Triangle. My youth predates the internet and cable television, so I spent the majority of my time in the woods. I never saw anything I would describe as supernatural. Does that disprove the Bridgewater Triangle theory? No. Perhaps I am just not sensitive enough, perhaps I am a demon so ferocious the other supernatural forces feared me, who can say? All I can do is share my experiences. Thanks for your feedback.

Few years back I came across Missing 411 and started watching Paulides channel, it didn’t last long! He came across as a very paranoid individual who seemed to claim some ownership over the missing person cases he covered. Also the data points he suggested seemed really tenuous and he seemed to completely ignore obvious explanations (e.g Bobby Bizup and the Catholic priest). His constant complaints of other creators using his research has backfired on him, not only did he criticise the very popular Mr Ballen, but other channels started to do their own research, which turned out to be more detailed and accurate than what Paulides had presented. Channels like Missing Enigma, Zealous Beast and Lore Lodge presented much more logical arguments, based on cited sources and the 411 phenomenon seems to fall apart. Sorry this is a bit of an essay, but I feel quite strongly about this sensationalism of missing person/cold cases, Paulides is just a woo-woo, tragedy pimp.

@pietrayday9915
@pietrayday9915 13 дней назад
Even in the city, you're part of the food chain, it's just easier to pretend you're not part of it while in the city, and your position in the food chain shifts in dramatic ways when you step out of the city. I don't worry too much about living in a rural area - I've lived there most of my life and have gotten used to my position in the food chain there! But I can definitely say that I was acutely aware that I was part of the food chain the moment I moved to a larger urban area, working at a job that had me going home late at night, and sometimes walking through some rough areas: there are predators everywhere in this world, and the city is full of predators who would absolutely eat you alive - in a heartbeat, or really slowly and painfully - if they could find a way to make a buck or have a little fun doing so. In many ways, those national parks might even be safer, from a certain point of view, but you're on your own out there in a way that you certainly aren't in a city, and there are far, far fewer witnesses in those woods, far fewer rules, and law enforcement is a long, long way away. I guess it's a "choose your poison" kinda thing... I have a feeling there are all sorts of mysterious disappearances in cities that nobody really pays attention to, in much the same way that city newspapers don't really report on as many crimes as their rural counterparts: it's normalized in cities, the evidence turns up more quickly with bigger budgets and more witnesses and foot traffic around the crime scenes, and the answers are a little easier to point to: probably murders, runaways, and other mundane causes that are just everyday life in the city to the point that it's just not that interesting anymore. The woods aren't a whole lot different, except in the matter of population density, terrain, and the amount of time and manpower that can be dedicated to high-tech professional law enforcement busy-bodying in the lives of the population until crimes are solved.

If you remind yourself every day how terrible humans can be, when you never allow this cozy "I am fine and nothing will ever happen to me" thought to take root, when you remind yourself that death is real and might happen to you every day - then your eyes are wide open, and you never fall victim to the "I rather see everything else" behaviour you mentioned.

Cops might be sensitive to a family's feelings, but they don't let those feelings stop them from getting information. I knew right then that something else was going on. Turns out, what was going on was more information would make a lot of these cases way less mysterious.

After listening to enough of these stories recently through the likes of Missing Enigma and Lore Lodge and reading between the lines, I can't help coming to the immediate conclusion first that the general public has WAY too much confidence in the effectiveness, dedication, thoroughness, and professionalism of these organized searches. It almost seems like the attitude of law enforcement in these cases might be most generously characterized as "well, the moment you enter these national forests, you're pretty much on your own!" Compare/contrast to the attitude of law enforcement in more civilized areas: the police are NOT obligated to put themselves into harm's way on your behalf... they MIGHT do so anyway, and there's a little more pressure on them to do so, but they'll tell you pretty straight and direct if you ask them that you shouldn't rely on law enforcement or anyone else for the immediate protection and safety of yourself, your family, and your property - that is your own responsibility.

Interesting to hear about David P's antagonistic actions. Part of me always had a vibe he was a bit of a grifter, especially his second movie about the hunted. It just had a bit of a fake vibe to it, especially the ending.

Ya I've heard stories about him for other Podcasters , he says a lot off air that certainly would lead one to that conclusion

Nice analysis. I’m the biggest skeptic, but I love mysteries-especially when they lean into superstition. It’s really fun to try and find the more realistic answer to the question

People who genuinely believe their thing are eager to go into pobcasts and tell about it. People who want to spread the knowledge don't mind others using their material, especially when others tell where they got the material.

I remember when I used to listen to David Paulides a lot in the past. One of the things that made me scratch my head was his reasoning for why didn't make his books available in digital form for download. His excuses make him sound like an old boomer that doesn't get how we do things today but I think it's more about him not wanting people to potentially be able to pirate the stuff for free. If you have to buy his book in physical form then you can't downloaded for free off some sketchy website. If it was about him getting the message out, he would have it in digital form available for download even if it was for purchase. I don't know if that's changed since the last time I listened to him but I found his reasoning at the time to be fairly suspicious and disingenuous. Plus, his need to make everything sound vaguely supernatural is cringeworthy in some cases. I find cases he talks about interesting but I also find a lot of it dubious at best.

I was sick and disappeared. Sent a message to someone containing information I feared. Ran from the truth and was missed. But with no change, the blocks persist. Undo what you have done Then you can talk to your missing 411

I have always thought that this is why Paulides is being so dodgy about these cases. As a cop he knows what's going on but also he knows that he can't say what he really knows or else he wouldn't be able to talk about it anymore.

This video reminds me of a certain aviator who found himself harassed and targeted relentlessly by___Shadow puppets, who were trying to further entrench the whole UFO idea , and It worked. I can't remember his name it was somebody back in the seventies or eighties. But they managed to terrify this poor guy into believing that his whole life had been turned upside down by aliens. The whole act benefitted some high level endgame or other.
