I added like 372 to your video. Ive had this unit 2 years with very very limited info on how this mystery remote works and you answered all of my questions with both of your excellent tutorials. Only thing I will add id he Mitsubishi really needs to up their remote game for these units. I mean...this thing looks like a 1980's TV remote and my unit did not come with wifi for my phone to connect and it looks as if I maigh could add it but it also is very dated. At any rate thank you very much...the timer feature will save me many trips upstairs at night to turn it off.
Mike, Thank you so very much for providing this video! Solved my problem within the first 41 seconds of the video! A guest building at a newly purchased home has a multi-zone Mitsubishi system -- but I didn't KNOW that! All I knew was there was no cooling in the room I wanted to be in. Fan was running and the remote seemed to be working, but could NOT get any cooling. Central Florida in August and pretty damned HOT! So, I watched the basic video and learned how to use the remote, but I decided to watch this video also before heading over to see what I could do. At 41 seconds, you mentioned multi-zone systems with one set for heat and the other for cooling. Eureka! I said. I went over to the second room in the building and, sure enough, set for HEAT. Set that system to cooling and by the time I got back to the other side, I could feel the cool air as soon as I entered the room. Great help, and MANY THANKS! Chuck -- cool in High Springs
Thanks a million. I watched your first video on how it operates. I never knew. Comments under that video. Now that I had a clue how it worked I couldn’t clear the times for start stop. Pushed too many buttons. Now it works. Thanks so much
Thank you!!! Still a bit fuzzy in the smart set but I’ll get there 😂. So happy I now know about the start and stop times. This will ease my worry while I am at work and my kitties will be comfortable until I get home.
i don't have a smart mode i don't have a smart set button. I do have "powerful button". my mode jumps over the heat mode and shows a Fan symbol in the mode column.
Do I have to point the remote to the air conditioner when setting the start and stop time? After setting the start and stop time, do I have to leave the remote close to the air conditioner so the the remote can send signal to the air conditioner at the start and stop time? Does the air conditioner has a clock and a timer inside that will know when to start and when to stop automatically? Moreover, will it start and stop at the same time each day if I do not cancel the start and stop time setting? Thanks.
Does the remote need to be pointed at the wall unit when changing temperature setting or other settings? There is no indication on the wall unit to confirm the desired temperature for example. In other words, Can the remote and the wall unit be 'out of sync' ?
If you put the fan on automatic mode, what exactly does that mean? Does it adjust the temperature to what degree I want and automatically go to that and keep it that way? Say I put the fan at 70 and set it to automatic--does that mean that the unit will adjust the room temperature to 70 and keep it that way?
Am I able to manually turn on the unit and set only a stop time? So if I manually turn it on and just want it to turn off in the middle of the night after I go to bed - say 12:30am? I’ve tried just setting the stop time and it’s never worked for me. Thank you!
Hi Mike. My remote buttons are a little different than yours? For example, I do not have 'Smart Set', I have 'Wide Vane' and 'Powerful'. I like the 'Smart Set' feature, can I purchase another remote or will it not be compatible with my unit?
Helpful Video! Thank you for taking the time to post this. We could not get ours to cool, but we have two units and one was on cool and one was not. Both need to be on the same mode (snow flake for cool). Thanks so much!!
How does the auto mode work on a mulit-unit system? Is it impossible to use that since different spaces might want to shift the condensor into a different mode? Do we have to manually control the modes on each unit to make sure they're aligned? I would *really* love the auto function to work. 🤞
It seems like the fan does not shut down on the smart mode heat...does the fan stop when not needed or is it supposed to run continuous... it runs at a very low speed.... i have it set to 50 when I leave.
So in your example of the Start & Stop times, the unit turns on and is set for cooling and maintains 65 degrees until the stop time. After the Stop time passes, the unit shuts off?
I have a question regarding the timer feature. Can I leave home on a Sunday and have the unit come on Thursday at 10am and shut off at 6pm in case I dont show up?
Hi there. Many thanks for this amazing and useful video. Do you know if we can buy a new remote same model, if it will pair automatically? Viewer From Paris 🇫🇷
great video super helpful. quick question though, do these units have a circulation or fan mode. where rather than continuing to warm a room, it can just circulate the existing air in the room that has already been brought up to temp.
I have watched them all and they are very clear but it does not tell me if the fan should be running when I set it to 50. The temperature is at 70 when set it but the fan comes on. I set it for the cold nights so it's not needed during the day. I just feel like when I leave the fan runs the hole time I'm gone. Thanks for responding.
My remote is identical to yours, but it also has a "Powerful Cool" option. Are you aware of models with them? What does it actually do or is it just some gimmick?
@@n.e.t.r.inc.2607 Thanks. Seems to me it should be a given that a thermostat would show the room temperature. Oddly enough I can see the temperature on my garage door opener control!
No, the vast majority of ductless and traditional air conditioners have a cut off cooling temperature of around 60 degrees Fahrenheit or 15-16 degrees Celsius. The ductless units heating minimum temperature is also about 59-60 degrees Fahrenheit or 15-16 degrees Celsius.
I'm confused. My unit is not starting up, or stopping at the times I set on the remote UNLESS the remote is left somewhere nearby pointing at the wall unit after setting the timers. By this I mean, I set the off timer while pointing the remote at the unit. I then put the remote away nearby with no line of sight to the unit. The off time comes by and the unit never shuts down. I do the same test again but this time I leave the remote laying around and pointing in the direction of the wall unit after setting the off timer. This time, it does shut off. It seems to me that if the timer function is dependent on the remote having line of sight to the unit, that makes it pretty much useless.
Hello Jose, it sounds like you're remote might have some connection issues. We recommend contacting Mitsubishi Customer Care at 1-855-923-3631 to get assistance.
Do you have a video with the remote for the iSee unit? There are so many buttons and yet I am still cold in the winter because the heat doesn't reach me sitting on the couch. Thank you very much
We do have this remote guide on the SG15H remote: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-rmIaFkkG7lU.html If you check the description, you will also find a second video on Advanced Functions for the SG15H remote as well.
The Auto mode, the four arrow symbol on the far left side of the screen, should also display with a temperature. Only the Dry setting, the tear drop, does not have a temperature setting. If your Auto mode is not displaying temperature on the screen, the remote batteries may need changing or there may be another issue. You can call the Mitsubishi Customer Care line at 1-855-923-3631 for additional support.
Hi Mike, great video. We have these units in our house and they keep making a gurgling sound(Cool mode). And sometimes the unit keeps making sounds, when it's off!? Any ideas?
Hello Eric, that sounds like there might be something wrong with your unit. We recommend reaching out to your local Mitsubishi Diamond Elite Contractor for proper diagnosis.
If your unit is not a Hyper Heat model and it's below 32 degrees Fahrenheit, the regular heat pumps can start to struggle with heating as efficiently as a Hyper Heat model. If you do have a Hyper Heat model heat pump, it may be good to reach out to your local Mitsubishi Diamond dealer to diagnose any issues.
USELESS. NO indication how to switch from prehistorical Fahrenheit to Civilized Celsius NO indication how to switch from prehistorical AM-PM mode to Civilized 24H mode
Hello Phil, for changing settings like this, as we did not manufacture this remote and have posted this video for our customers and others who find the user manual unhelpful, we recommend contacting Mitsubishi Customer Care at 1-855-923-3631. We hope this was helpful!
Hello Gretchen, you would be able to do that manually, but if you would like it to turn on on its own, you would need to set a new schedule and then set it back to the original schedule once the cold day has passed.
he mentioned it is only a 24 hour timer so you can't do any settings for long periods of time. I was trying to do something similar where it would turn on and off everyday at a set time but it looks like I'd have to set it everyday 😞. I think you can get an external thermostat and be able to have more fine tuned schedule control.
You need to press the up and down buttons (TOO WARM + TOO COOL) at the same time while pushing the reset button. You will then have to push the clock button and set the clock. Your unit will then show the temperature in Celsius and you will have to set the correct mode, temperature and vane setting you want because the reset has put back the factory settings.
You mention that the timed program is for a single 24-hour cycle, and that has been my experience. I can turn on the unit, set the Start / Stop time, and it does exactly that. HOWEVER, what I would love is for it to continue to start/stop every day. (I'm not even trying for complex schedule based on the day of the week.) Specific example: I'd like to run the dehumidifier for a couple hours every day without having to remember to go downstairs and turn it on each day. Is there a different remote that I need to buy, or can we do it with this remote?
Unfortunately the basic units don't include a 7-day timer and are intended more for a "turn on when you need it" type of situation. The more advanced units that include a weekly timer have a larger remote with more options, and they allow for 4 on/off or temperature changes every day, and you can program each day (Sun-Sat) differently if you wish. Check out this video on programming those remotes so you can see what I mean -- ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-sSbQF2HBZM4.html -- if you have an older unit it could be worth considering an upgrade if that functionality is important to you.
Hi Tony. What Econo Cool mode does is it makes the veins swing back and forth, while setting the temperature 2 degrees higher than what you have it set at, in order to save energy. The changing air flow (like a light breeze) is supposed to make you feel cooler, even though the temperature is a little higher. Try it and see if it works for you (some people don't like the changing air flow). If you like it, it's another way to save a bit of extra energy/money. If you don't find that it cools you off enough, you can leave it off.
