This episode we discuss a recently installed Mitsubishi Ecodan Air Source Heat Pump which has replaced an existing Oil Boiler. This is a 6kw unit with a 210 litre cylinder.
Good to see retrofit installation ... Would be interesting to know the radiators & 6Kw pump can drive. Also interested as to be benefit of the Low Loss Header.... ??
Always informative thanks. I have a question though, we have spoken before, I was expecting my install this month (Oct '21). My installer informs me that they are struggling for parts from Mitsubishi and my install has been delayed. Is this true?
Hello, we have the EcoDan 14kw with 2 zones. Would you be able to help with my question? We recently noticed that radiators are not getting as warm as they used to. When we checked the pressure it was bellow 0.5bar when running. Is that suppose to be at 1 bar when running? Or is there anything else that could cause the radiators not heating up? Thank you
Could anyone please tell me the dimensions of the DHW plate heat exchanger attached to the tank shown in this video? I want to retrofit a plate heat exchanger to an indirect heated cylinder with a too-small coil. The heat pump is 8 kW but I have the EHSD-VM2D wall-mount indoor unit. Thanks in advance!
Hey, thanks for the video. Not that much out there about ecodan products that are actually helpful. I have had an ecodan 14kw for nearly 2 winters and my cop is around 2.2. Any idea on any factors that can increase it? I keep my flow temp around 48. Mine is also a retrofit on a very old house. Cheers
Is it cycling? What did the heat loss calcs tell you about the required ashp size because it could be oversized and thus cycling heavily, drastically affecting your cop.
Hi, Love your videos! - I am a gas/heating engineer and I am looking into installing ASHP - can you please advise me on what courses to go on and which manufacturers offers these. Very best wishes.
Hi, thank you. It is the level 3 installation and maintenance for heat pumps. Logic4ytraining carry out this course. You will also require Energy Efficiency and G3 unvented hot water qualifications first before you can take on the course. Good luck my friend
Hi Wicky, we only had to change a couple of radiators on this project. If you look at some of the other videos on our channel we discuss another retro fit system with some more detail and a look at the UFH system we installed.
