Great Video. From Canada, this is really what I'm interested in. Bought the wife an 2009 Outlande v6 we love it. Multiple types of Lancers, Evo X, GSR, Ralliart etc...I want to know the real differences not some BS, burn rubber, photo angles which doesn't get at the under-pinnings of the car. Thanks for giving me some ammo so I can tell the wife why I need a full on Evo X, and not some washed out "sportback" model, thanks again.
I own one, the car itself is literally what a Modder or street booster should buy, the evo x has things that really benefit track days more so than the road so the ralliart is a great starting point. This is my 42nd ish car came from a r34GTT 25det manny coupe and man I am still satisfied. The car suffers from under boost from factory. Measly 7-8 psi stock on the tdo4 single scroll turbo. I have changed my internal wastegate to a aftermarket GFB one and am safety running 20psi with no fuel lag or cut. The engine is a direct evo x clone. same AFR. same internals... cheap way to get a 4b11t Same evo x exhaust but with a different bend near the rear diff. Brembos on evo x, large outlander twin pistons brakes on the ralliart. not the worst trade off but not as sexy as the brembo look. Lancers had recaros, galants had plush seats with ralliart tags. dash clusters slightly different with dot patterne, redline and overall speed. The drivetrain is a hybrid mix of evo 9 and X parts. The rear diff is Evo 9 and the transmission and drive line are evo X. Evo x has AYS diff? ralliart AYC? i cant recall Suffering from a the lack of the evo x widebody. you can still achieve great deep wheels with a simple pull and tuck from the shop. The front bumper is not a direct clone as it is one piece whereas the evo x make has many pieces making it and holes in the front crash bar for the bigger intercooler hence the two vents in the bumper on the evo x. interior wise literally the same. Transmission is a sst from the evo x but with less torque limits. (detuned TCM) flashing this with the Evo 9 MR tcm data you will receive sports plus mode and launch control. few other mods to help such as evo x intercooler and alloy piping. ams cold intake
Ricky its NOT an automatic........it does NOT have a torque converter, it has WET clutches, Can be used as paddle shift OR manual shift OR auto shift, in normal or sports modes
The Ralliart seems to lag on acceleration when you put your foot down from standing still. What would you suggest doing to reduce it? (Apart from buying another car) :)
Change the intercooler upper and lower pipes, the factory rubber ones expand and get worse with age. Intercooler kits for the evo x usually work well and include alloy piping. Also change the transmission fluid with proper diaqueen sst fluid and new filter also help smooth out the changes. i know i own one and boy that lag was bad....
@@KadojiProductions I went the hard pipe 7 years ago with a evo X intercooler . Did improve the lag. Alway get SST serviced before every 30000km But i changed to Motul a while ago and it's just as good. My mech is RP Motorsport and they are pros with the SST since going to them and getting tuned with the usual bolt ons . My car runs sweet and never misses a beat.
If this car had a true Manual transmission, I would definitely consider buying this car. I have always wanted a Lancer Evolution since I was a Kid but they are just too expensive.
@Havocpsi I have a 5sp Eclipse RS. I specifically got the CVT because it has, for me, the best of both worlds. Since I have a long commute and a long drive to visit family, having auto allows me to ease the pain in my knees. Then when I want, I have the manual shift mode for when I feel like it.
Hi I have a 09 Ralliart and have the dreaded cold start grind and have look through your videos and read a lot on the forums etc and still have found no confirmation of the issue whether it's a software issue or mechanical issue can you please explain the issue or send a link as to hopefully an inexpensive fix?
its a software issue , i did find the how to fix it on the net - but tech at mitsubushi have no idea how to apply it . I just had my transmission swaped swapped over and now there no more grind issue, if i find the linkagain i will certinly put it here for you.
@Brettmiddleton over here in brunei, south east asia the mitsu dealer dosent wants to import this ralliart version..they only sell lancer ex.evo x gsr and Mr edition,is there any way i can import this ralliart to brunei? how much AUS $ does the ralliart cost there?
@Havocpsi rally drivers, nascar drivers, etc, all shift with paddles. Near instantaneous shifts where you don't have to take your hands off the wheel? sounds good to me.
@Havocpsi Or for people who want to go fast. It's faster than a traditional manual. I agree that manuals give you more feel and connection with the car, but seeing these annoying comments on every car video with an auto tranny is getting extremely old. We all know enthusiasts love manuals.
@Havocpsi You realize that the majority of super cars these days don't use a standard transmission? Certain paddle shifters are just faster than a manual trans. What sounds faster? Laying off the gas, pushing the clutch peddle, changing gear, releasing the clutch and giving gas or.... Not even taking your fucking foot off the gas and pressing a lever to change gear instantly?
cant wait until i can get one of these !!...but its fuel economy is poor..10L ( combined ) for 100km..ok..but these days.. i would want a car with a fuel economy around 8ish..for 100 km...there is also new competitions from toyota..the 86 and suburu BLZ..:(
@Havocpsi Lol who cares? The stick shifts are fun but paddle shifters make more sense (in other words you get to go faster and crash less, admit it. Don't try to be a tough guy and say it doesn't matter.)
@ all you its my freaking personal pref dam do yall sit here and monitor every one that post a comment Funkin A . @Drake14161337 Go faster yeah maybe, crash less youre out your mind it happen either way you look at it. And screw all this dont try to be a tough guy shit im not an E Thug. I just dont really care for paddle shifters at all unless they are on high power cars more or less indy 500 shit or exotics ya know
