“Jam” says alot about how thought provoking and genius MJ truly is listen to the lyrics they’re so deep yet so real it’s such a polarizing song, has an important message and yet the tempo of the song is so funky and heart pumping but once again MJ putting his foot down against Systematic Racism & World Turbulence see and this is why he’s so loved and cherished around the entire universe LONG LIVE THE GREATEST MUSIC ARTIST TO EVER LIVE THE KING OF MUSIC FOREVER! And nobody was bigger than Michael Jackson was/is even Michael Jordan said it sure Jordan was popular but MICHAEL JACKSON IS FREAKING ROYALTY! He was another stratosphere of superstardom from childhood to adulthood with that being said MJ is a better basketball player than Jordan is at dancing LMAO!👊🏽👑🔥✨🎯💯(Jam ~ On the album opener,MJ explains that jamming (the joy of music and dance) is his preferred method of temporarily escaping worldly issues. “You can’t hurt me; I found peace within myself,” Jackson proclaims. “Go with it, go with it / Jam!” Riley pilots this sense of freedom with an adrenaline-pumping rhythm consisting of electronic drum snares, turntable scratches, and hot horn stabs. The iconic short film co-stars NBA legend Michael Jordan, rap duo Kris Kross, and the late-great Heavy D. Over a slinky funk/rock beat, the Music Video for "Jam" takes place within an abandoned indoor basketball court, where Michael Jackson teaches basketball legend Michael Jordan how to dance, and in return, Jordan teaches Jackson how to play basketball. Special effects have Jackson throwing a basketball through a window and scoring in the hoop in the opposite room, as well as Jackson scoring by tossing the ball behind him and kicking the ball into the hoop with his heel. The extended versions of the video include Jackson teaching Jordan how to do the physically complicated "Moonwalk" dance technique (known as the slide step) The rap groups Kris Kross and Naughty by Nature made a cameo appearance,as does Heavy D (who performs a rap during the bridge). The Music Video was directed by David Kellogg and was filmed on April 20, 1992 in Chicago, Illinois. The Music Video premiered on FOX on June 19, 1992 at 9:30 p.m. EST.)
Michael during this era (in my opinion) was untouchable. He was such a boss! I love this more aggressive and urban vibe he was doing. It felt so damn natural! Michael brought such a rebellious tone to the youth at the time... and I love it. He was the voice of a new generation. Stepping away from Quincy Jones must've been such a scary time for him. So much pressure was on him. And he honestly knocked it out of the park.. out of this world! The lyrics during this time was so different as well from his 80's work. A more mature and more raw voice. Michael stepped up his game hardcore. So many songs from this album is still banging hard nowadays. This album is such a anthem vibe. I don't know, it's hard to explain. But, something about this version of Michael really stands out. And the beats Michael was producing on this album are so damn ahead of it's time... even to this day it sounds so modern and unique. Especially with the beat of "Who Is It". My man, thank you so much for always commenting! It wouldn't be a "Honey & Brown" video if Mr. JayTooSavy weren't moonwalking in the comments! Thank you again!
@@honey.brown.nerdrealm Yes MJ’s Dangerous Album & Era to say the least is Enchanting & Breathtaking it’s seriously my Fav Album of MJ’s and possibly my fav Era of his as well cause he was so ambitious and brave to take that leap of faith and separate himself creatively from Quincy Jones and team up with Teddy Riley to have full creative control etc. MJ prevailed and surpassed the expectations anyone could’ve imagined they thought he wasn’t gonna do as well as his previous Era but he proved that his Legendary Status & Credibility/The Work He Put In Throughout The Decades was no fluke Long Live The Greatest Music Artist To Ever Live The King Of Music Forever! Michael Joseph Jackson Please React to Black Or White Short Film soon tho it’s important to get to that as apart of the Dangerous Era as soon as possible
@@Milkers777 Honestly, MJ teaming up with Teddy Riley was the best decision! It truly showcased MJ's true talent! And we'll definitely react "Black or White" soon!
MJ knocked the whole New jack Swing sound on its head with his record. Was nothing around like it at the time. Production was crisp and hard and I honestly think the general public were quite taken back that MJ went down this route. Excellent record though, reminds me of being 11 when it came out. Had it on cassette.
This sound of MJ gave notice to the world that he can evolve and continue on with the King of Pop legacy! The sound of this record is still ahead of its time. Remarkable amount of respect to MJ for pushing his talent and stepping out of his 80's comfort zone and reinvent himself.
We're in Dangerous era. Yes! Michael used to open his concerts with Jam. He opened Super Bowl with Jam as well. After you react to "Black or White" and "Heal the world" you can watch his Super Bowl performance as well. So excited about that one. Also, after you react to "Black or White" and "Will you be there" you have to react to the Mtv 10th anniversary 1991 performance of Michael. First appereance since he released Dangerous. New look. New songs. New hype. And again, the most beautiful coreography for "Will you be there" that he has ever done. Also after reacting to "Heal the World" and "Gone too soon" there's the Bill Clinton Gala where he performs these 2 songs. After seeing "Remember the time" there's a performance of the song (the only one he ever did) in a chair because he was injured at that time. But he still performed from a chair, and let me tell you, it was EPIC. And also can't wait for "Give into me", "Who is it". So many amazing songs on this album. It is my favourite as well. I love all his albums, but Dangerous is number 1 for me as well. There is a lot, I know. But it is so worth it. Hope you will start to react to some of these performances soon. And in one video as well after you react to the music videos first, of course. And there is no rush. Take your time and enjoy yourselves. We can see how much effort you put into these videos and how much you guys care. Just know that we will be here. Loved the reaction and discussion as always.
Hey! Love hearing from you always! Thank you so much for your excitement... it truly gives us the genuine energy! Oh man, we are definitely in the "Dangerous" era now! I love the evolution and "rebirth" of a more rebellious and modern MJ! His dancing, lyrics, music videos and style during this era is untouchable! It's pure phenomenal! Pure... DANGEROUS! 😅🤓 We will definitely incorporate his live performances as well. Because I feel his live performances during this era were some of his absolute best he's ever done! And why I'm so hyped for this era, is because it was my first experience with MJ as well as 3 of my top favorite songs are from this release. "Who Is It", "Give Into Me" and "Dangerous" - a perfect trifecta of what MJ became in the 90's. It truly solidified him as more than a legend. A myth of man of sorts. Thank you for understanding as well. We try to keep a schedule, but, we never want to react for the sake of reacting. We truly love this and will only react and upload when BOTH of us are 100% into it. And with MJ, he truly deserves our full heart and soul. Thank you again for your amazing comment and always commenting. We love seeing how consistent you beautiful people are in this community we've all built!
Y'all should watch his THIS IS IT tour rehearsals and you will see how seasoned michael jackson is when it comes to preparing a concert even after stopping for years of performing he never stopped being awesome in stage and the most unbelievable part on those rehearsals is mj doesn't even move like a 50 year old man and he's not even going hard on those rehearsals. Amazing reaction, i just watched your wife's reaction on man in the mirror moonwalker version and i can't blame her for tearing up because I've been listening to that song for 19 years and still gives me chills. When i saw your wife cried i immediately subscribed and turn on the notifs because i know it's gonna be an emotional ride on the future reactions if y'all will continue this michael jackson journey.
Wow... thank you so much! Honestly, your comment means a lot to us both. Michael has such an emotional effect on us both. Especially my wife! And that just shows the true nature and power of Michael's songs. They truly speak to the soul. Thank you for joining us on this journey. We are so happy you're with us now!
Another one of my favorites, this beat gets me every time! So glad you guys did this one. And this video is amazing,Michael is always smooth and on point but I think his movements are somehow extra crisp in this one..just beautiful!
This beat goes too hard 😎💯🔥 What a way to start off the "Dangerous" album. MJ during this era was so bad-ass! I l love it! And you're right, his dancing was extra crisp... it was so aggressive and pure at the same time. MJ once again reinvents himself into something of a legendary status! Thank you so much for your comment!
Jam is one of my fave Songs right now! The lyrics are VERY deep, that new jack swing sound mixed with hip hop & Rap and having kriss kross and Michael Jordan in the music video - phew!!! 😮💨 my favorite and probably the most powerful line from Jam is "You can’t hurt me, I found peace within myself." And the fact that the ending with MJ & MJ wasn’t scripted! It was real! Mike said that Jordan’s Feet were like Boats 🤣🤣🤣🤣
This song is pure 90's nostalgia mixed in with a timeless flare! I love this song so much. And the "Dangerous" album is such a feel-good album! I love all of Michael's albums, but, this album hits on a whole new level! HAHAHA! I can only imagine! It took both hands of MJ to move Jordan's feet. I love their dynamic in this video. And that line, "... you can't hurt me, I found peace within myself..." - is such a brilliant and gut-wrenching line. The way he sings it, you can feel it in his voice!
Also Heavy D' was another great addition to the tracks driven Bass, Michael flexed his new jack swing muscles in this one and it sure paid off for the ",King Of Music" 🤩👊🏽💝🎶👑🌟🙆🏽♂️🌍
Both GOATS! Both MJ's! Amazing reaction and song as always! I appreciate you guys also saying you'd listen to my radio interview where I talk about MJ! Have a good one!
Hey! Thank you so much for watching and commenting. We truly appreciate you! Are you able to send us the link to your interview? I can't find it on your channel...
Rap groups Naughty by Nature, Kris Kross , and of course Heavy D and Michael Jordan joined Mike in the first single on the album. The first video of course Black or White.
Quincy Jones is still a little bit salty about that switch up. In interviews he has a lot of great things to say about thriller and bad but after that he kind of switches up. You have to see the interviews
Quincy got real weird a few years ago. Started trashing Mike. And then there was that stuff about the concert Quincy was going to put on with a lot of the music he did with Mike and... well... it didn't endear Quincy to Mike's fans most of whom at the time were trying to tell folk about the tons of evidence that absolutely destroys a certain 'documentary' that came out back in 2019 too.
The 90s managed to have the 2 biggest MJ in the world and even on the same screen. Dangerous is the best-selling new jack swang album of all time and one of the heavy influences on the establishment of one of the current big music markets kpop. Since you guys are in a dangerous era, I would love to see your reaction on "Whazzap with you" video too. 🤣 It's Eddie Murphy ft. MJ.
A perfect way to start the 90's with MJ... with another legend... Jordan! They dynamic duo haha. "Dangerous" is such a beautiful masterpiece. It really showcases how evolved he became during this time. Eddie Murphy and MJ?!! What?! Sign me up!!!
Great reaction and discussion as always! love the song and video - MJ and MJ in the same video is still legendary! MJ teaching M Jordan to dance and moonwalk is absolute gold! 😍😂 Ive seen it so many times but it still makes me smile and laugh, its so sweet! I think doing reactions to songs from Thriller and Bad aswell as the Dangerous songs is a good idea and it will show the evolution in Michaels music - he was a musical innovator, always pushed himself to try new styles, new technology etc, but youre right that after Thriller alot of people just expected him to stay in that lane, which he was never going to do! i love that none of his albums from Thriller onwards sound the same - each album sounds fresh and different and distinct. Btw, some of the unreleased demos that Michael did, especially during the Bad sessions are as good as the released tracks, and are worth checking out too 🙂
Thank you so much for your comment! Completely agree with you... watching MJ trying to teach Jordan how to move/dance is absolutely comedy gold! Jordan has like 0 rhythm ☺☺☺ Hmmm, maybe I will showcase some of MJ's 80's era in-between some songs from the "Dangerous" era. Gives a great perspective on the evolution of Michael's stylistic change and showcasing how much he changed in the 90's; musically. And definitely will checkout some of those unreleased demos. I'm very curious about them now🧐 Thank you once again for watching us and commenting. We truly appreciate it! 😎❣
@@honey.brown.nerdrealm 😂i know right, bless him! To me its the fact that Jordan is an absolute unit....especially standing next to MJ who has to stand on tiptoes to reach his arm....and hes so solid that, like you say, he has no rhythm, while MJ is so obviously a dancer and all his movements are so graceful and fluid! They clearly had a lot of fun together, which makes me smile :) The demos are great - 'Dont be messin' round' (an unfinished track but its still amazing as it is), 'streetwalker', 'fly away', 'cheater', Al Capone' - which led to smooth criminal - 'someone in the dark', 'got the hots', 'scared of the moon', 'someone put your hand out'...theyre all seriously good and theyre all on YT :) The other good thing about doing songs from Thriller is that the 40th anniversary of that album is coming up in November 😊 oooh! and passing on some fun news.......i think i told you a while back that Michaels nephew Taj was working on a docuseries about him- he announced last night that its going to be 11 episodes, hes just about got it completely funded and will fingers crossed have it ready for next year - but he hopes earlier!! 😁
@@raspberryripple88 We'll definitely checkout those songs. Thank you for recommending them! Oh what? Yes, I remember!!! That is amazing news. I can't wait to watch it when it comes out! This is HUGE for the MJ community!!! I'm so stoked!!!
@@honey.brown.nerdrealm If this series does everything Taj wants it to then it really will be huge! Hopefully he'll find a big distributor to air it so that as many people as possible get to see it 😁 Unfortunately ive seen some negative comments from a minority of fans on social media- just people getting impatient and forgetting that projects like this dont just happen overnight ( even without a pandemic!), and the fact that all the fans have their own ideas about who and what they want to see included in the series etc. But Taj is trying to cover everything - his music, charity/humanitarian work, the false allegations/extortion attempts- and humanise Michael in a way that no documentary about MJ has. Its hopefully going to be a serious piece of work and i know Taj wants to make sure its done right 🙂 keep an eye out towards the end of this month cos i think Taj has said there will be a press release of some kind about the series! You'll love the demos! I look forward to seeing you both reacting to them! 😁 Some of them truly deserved to end up on the final albums, and i really wish Michael had gone back and finished 'Dont be messin' round' cos its such a good song even in its unfinished state! You also hear Michael adlib the instruments too, which is really fun! I think it might be one of the most upbeat songs he ever wrote music-wise!
Hi honey and brown. Great reaction video guys. Love that you presented the full Jam video. I have seen the video by The Detail as well. Everyone should. Yes Michael was always with his ear to the street like you said. He was always looking for a new sound. Dangerous album is awesome in its entirety. The album cover and all the songs in it have more messages from Michael - you really need to hear the lyrics within the New Jack Swing sound -- it is all awesome. Please do a reaction when you do performances of the Super Bowl half time performance in 1993. This was just a spectacular event. Yes you're right about the news - I remember it was repeatedly written and broadcast that MJ was not going to do as well as he did with his previous albums - that the Quincy/Jackson relationship ending was a mistake - not. MJ proved everyone wrong. Remember when Michael was with his brothers in the early Jacksons career. He really wanted more to perform their own songs written and produced by themselves. After leaving Motown - Destiny album proves how their songwriting and production was so great and they had their own sounds in their composing. MJ said in an interview when he was asked - Will you ever have enough? and he sincerely answered No because for him it hurts more when something is inside him and he is unable share it and bring it out to the world - the rest you guys know is history after he went on his own. Off The Wall, Thriller, Bad albums and so forth. Guys there is a cool Jam mix video uploaded by Behind The Mask MJ - if you want to look for it you can search by the title [Michael Jackson Jam Live Mix 1992-1996 Ft. Looney Tunes] It mixes the video and Jam live performances - its about 9 min long but I'm sure you will love it. Thanks so much for this video reaction. God bless you both and keep you well. Always take time for yourselves and don't worry about taking long to answer comments. Have a great weekend 🥰🥰 Thanks for keeping his legacy and music alive ♥♥ Forever the King of Pop and forever innocent 🙏🙏
Hey! Love seeing your comment! Thank you so much for your beauty and love towards us. You truly bring such light to us both! Michael stepped up during this time and over-succeeded! Apex Michael. The legend that became a myth. I love this version of Michael. A more stealthier, mature and confident Michael! Urban bad-ass MJ!!! His songwriting during this era was superior as well. Michael was truly firing at all cylinders with straight fire at this time. This album was filled with such darkness and beauty. Michael was divine at this time. I feel him departing from Quincy Jones was such a brilliant move. Because, it showed how much untapped potential and talent Michael still had in his arsenal. We will definitely check those videos out. Thank you for the recommendation! Thank you so much again for always supporting us and leaving such thoughtful and meaningful comments.
Loving the journey you are taking your wife on. As an MJ fanatic I am here for it. Hope you take her further and further from more J5 stuff, OTW Era, Thriller Era, Bad Era, Dangerous Era, HIStory Era, Invincible until we lost Mike. Live show reactions along with more official video reactions. I just subscribed and can't would love to see more reactions from the Bad Era (my personal favorite). The Bad Tour show at Wembley, all the videos....man! But I am here for it all!
and someone below did suggest the Copenhagen show from the Dangerous tour, although good, Bucharest is still THEE best one from the Dangerous tour. lol. My opinion of course. haha
So happy you found us and are coming with us on this incredible MJ journey. Thank you so much! And we'll definitely be doing a lot of live performances as well... those are legendary!
I absolutely cannot wait for you to react to the live version of this song. Try Copenhagen ‘92. I know a lot of folks will request Bucharest because it’s more popular but Copenhagen was a better show, in my opinion. Again, the lady is so gorgeous❤️❤️❤️
soo here we are we finally reached the dangerous era!!! wow cant wait too this is my fav mj album of all time i love the bad era and the album especially the bad tour soo much but dangerous just hits on a whole different level! i love that u started the dangerous journey with jam because this song is incredible i love it that beat and drum snare those horns/trumpets the agressive tone in michael's voice is awesome! this video is great i love it and the dance moves mj does in it are soo clean and crisp! but its that bonus part at the end that makes this video such a standout video and epic seeing how michael is trying to teach jordan how too dance and move hearing him giving jordan instructions on what too do is amazing i never tire of seeing that part! u def have too react too the live performance of jam on the dangerous tour because its soo incredible! and def react too lots of dangerous tour performances as well such as the performances of smooth criminal and billie jean and beat it and thriller and wanna be starting something! and also that mtv10th anniversary performance that michael did of black or white and will you be there ive mentioned it too u several times i cant wait till u all do it because its such a incredible performance its in my top 5 of all time mj performances! also since ur in the dangerous era now the live performances mj did at the bill clinton inaugration of gone too soon and heal the world is a performance u and ur wife def need to react too as well add it too the list my brother ! i must say too u both that u guys have become my fav mj youtuber's michael jackson reaction vids channel of all lol! i love when u guys upload a new video im always waiting for the next video too come out from u 2 i get happy when i see that u posted a new vid and when its been sometime since u last uploaded a new vid i get a lil sad like damn where are they at lol but that just shows that u2 have made such a great impression on the mj fan community the moonwalkers love u both! keep it going like mj said dont stop till u get enuff!
Hey! Thank you so much for your beautiful comment. It warms us both to see the positivity in this loving community we've all built together. As I'm writing this, I'm listening to "Jam" 😎🤓. I love the evolution and almost rebirth of Michael during this "Dangerous" era. It's almost like MJ was hitting that urban vibe and making music for the youth of the future. More anthematic rebellion core... and I absolutely love it. Even his dancing changed so much. More of a hard-hitting and aggressive animalistic nature. And we will definitely react to more of his live performances during the "Dangerous" era. His dancing was so slick and bad-a** at this time! And it fit so well for the 90's urban scene. I know... we're so sorry. We're trying to stay consistent. It's just hard at times when we both work shift work and then finding time for each other and our families. And we never want to record and react just for the sake of reacting for content. Especially when it comes to MJ. He honestly deserves 100% of our attention and soul. I want every reaction video for MJ to be something special. Because all of you amazing people deserve it! But, we are pushing hard to really be more consistent nowadays. But, thank you so much for sticking with us still and continuing to show us such genuine love and support. You're an all-star to us! Thank you!
I really enjoyed this amazing song. When I first heard this song, I wasn’t too into it cuz this is kinda different but Donovan always listened to it and I couldn’t figure out what he likes abt ‘JAM’. Thanks so much for this video bcuz I get it now (hahaha). Great job as usual, H&B👏🏾🙌🏾💯❤️🤩
Rock on! Yeah, I remember as a kid I would always want you to play this! It was one of the first songs from MJ that I loved on my own! I remember you'd always play the "Dangerous" album non-stop!
Actually The New Jack Swing sound existed before this album that's what made Michael Jackson go to Teddy Riley. Teddy Riley was an R and b / hip hop producer for a lot of R and B groups in the 80s through the 90s and even now. He had his own group called Guy, which Michael was a fan of as well as Heavy D. Teddy Riley produced for Guy ( his group ) Blackstreet ( another group he created and performed in ) Bobby Brown's Don't be Cruel a huge album Heavy D among other huge acts. Teddy Riley also produced most songs on the Blood on the Dancefloor album songs on the History album as well as the Invincible album.
You're right yes, but that whole sound was never as hard as it was on this record. Paula Abdul, Bobby Brown etc were all NJS it when this record hit, was nothing around at the time like this. Especially the slower numbers like Heal the world and Will you be there.
Oh for sure. MJ never invented this sound. He definitely brought the proper recognition and spotlight to this sound, though. MJ was a huge fan of this sound and especially Teddy Riley. I love the collaboration of MJ and Riley so much! My favorite era!
U guys really should react to the doc because if it's u guys I would literally watch 1 hour video and not getting tired .cus It's so interesting to hear ur thoughts and discussion . Also I like the idea of going back and forth between bad and dangerous. This will let her really see the new sound that Michael made in this album. I loved this reaction as always . Can't wait for the next one 💖💖
Awww, you're always so sweet to us. Thank you! Hmmm, we;; are starting to incorporate clips from the documentary in some of the songs from "Dangerous". So, maybe we'll do both! Thank you again for watching and always leaving such nice and genuine comments!
My teenage years were during the Off the Wall, Thriller & Bad Eras, and that's when I became a HUGE Michael Jackson fan. When Dangerous came out, it was so different than those eras. It was actually the last album of MJ's that I had purchased until recently. I had purchased all the J5, Jacksons and MJ albums shortly after Thriller came out, and still have them to this day. I remember saving my money and walking to the record store to purchase each of those albums (and there are many) one-at-a-time to build my collection. My taste in music had changed after Dangerous, as had his style, and I just wasn't into MJ as much. I actually just purchased History, Invincible and all the other albums released after Dangerous within the last four years when I really got back into MJ (I did buy This Is It after his death). Some of the songs I didn't really like when they were first released (ie, Jam & Scream) are actually some of the ones that I really like now, because, like Donovan, I didn't listen to the lyrics back then, but I fully understand them now. Thanks for this great reaction. Looking forward to seeing your reaction to "In The Closet". Blenda is in for some fun with that one :)
That's surprising to hear. But, I can totally understand if you grew up with MJ during the 80's. This sound was definitely very different and almost a "rebellion" to his 80's classic sound. I feel like MJ was truly finding himself and his sound after breaking away from Quincy Jones. This is the MJ that made the 90's kids a huge MJ fan. And I love Michael's writing on this album. Such darkness and such deep lyrics. Oh yeah... Blenda is going to be blushing a lot during "In The Closet" haha. I can't wait! Thank you so much for your comment 😊
@@honey.brown.nerdrealm, yeah, I got into country music in the 90s and just didn't really listen to pop during that time. Was older and had a kiddo, so our music selections revolved around a toddler who preferred the Old MacDonald type kiddie songs versus pop songs - lol. Please also react to Little Susie from the History album.
@@nickshockeymom Music taste usually does revolve around lifestyle. Well, we're so happy you found your way back to Michael! And we're so blessed to have you here on our journey! And yes! We will definitely react to that. After a few more songs from "Dangerous", we'll make our way back to some songs from "HIStory". Thank you so much!
I prefer when you stick to one album at a time however you haven't finished invincible and history was barely touched. In invincible you have four more songs to react to and in history awaits even more material. Greets 🎶
We'll definitely revisit both of those albums! I promised everyone when this MJ journey began, that once we hit 1K subscribers, we'd start on the "Dangerous" era!
Oh for sure! The singles are a must! But, I really want her to hear some of his album songs that aren't singles as well. Just to showcase that MJ can write a song in any style and doesn't have to be released as a single. Thank you so much for watching! Much love from the both of us.
Chill they’re just doing it for this Era the rest they’re going to do the Spike Lee MJ Documentaries I actually find The Detail’s Dangerous 30 Doc impressive!
Yeah, I've heard mixed things about their RU-vid channel. I tend to not really watch them religiously. But, when they do deep dives on songs and albums, they're pretty accurate. But, nowadays that channel is a bit too much "tabloid exploitation".
