Chase Leighton I was at that game and saw the ejection. That's when I wondered if he would straighten out or not. I bet you didn't know that that was actually one of the games they had to make up because of the riots.
The only way you can get ejected immediately is an equipment violation which means throwing the bat or helmet.....words may trigger an umpire but you won’t get tossed immediately unless it’s a personal remark or “you”reference
There's an automatic fine for an ejection (basically pocket change for a MLB player, but still). So basically a money grab for MLB 😂 (though I think the fine money goes to a charity but I'm not 100% sure about that)
I don't know if MLB does this but at other levels of play (like college for example) an ejection that occurs after a game ends would result in the offender receiving a one game suspension.
3:22 It is impossible to exaggerate how biased and bad of a day ol' Vic had on Canada Day at Rogers Centre...I almost never feel this way about pro officials in any sport, but he clearly had a bias against the Jays that day....
Are you saying it was a great calling the pitch a strike, or tossing Holt? If it's the pitch, I disagree it was a "great" call on the pitch, that could have gone either way from our angle looking at the video. If Holt was arguing the call, he's stupid, it was too close and could have gone either way, as I said, so very foolish if he's arguing with West on this particular call. But if Holt was simply mad at himself and not arguing with West, then West was wrong to toss him. Guys are going to get tossed if they get in the ump's face, but umps are way too sensitive if a batter is simply expressing anger at himself (unless he throws equipment, at which point he's probably going to be gone regardless of the reason). But there are too many prima donna umps and too many prima donna players in MLB.
