MLB Power Rankings For 4.23...Is it Braves or Yankees at number 1? The Dodgers Drop out of the top 3 & the Astros fall hard...all the way to 22! While the Blue Jays, Guardians, Brewers climb. #MLB #BASEBALL #powerrankings
Mistake on a comment I made about the Cubs…it wouldn’t have impacted their ranking, but I mentioned they dropped a series to the Marlins 1-2, when it was infact a series split. I somehow overlooked the first game of the series.
He commented in the cooments it didn't effect his rating yet said in his commentary the reason they dropped was losing the series against the Marlins. Yeah, ok then.
A a Yankee fan I disagree with them at 1. I understand that this is prior to Mondays loss, but the way the Yankees play even when they win is not a #1 team. 1/3rd of our line up is in a heavy slump and our bullpen has already imploded. The starters are surprisingly pitching elite and Soto is special.
Ya but the braves swept the Astros and beat the defending World champions Rangers to go 5-1 against the last 2 World Series winners is impressive. The Yankees are struggling a little bit so I would flip flop them but understand your reasoning. Enjoy your vacation
As much as I hate to say as a yankee fan I agree there starting rotation and hitting is daily ratios but there management and bullpen is a disaster waiting to happening
Cubs went 4-3 and split a 4-game series against the marlins… not saying that splitting against the Marlins is even better but they didn’t lose the series 😅🤷🏽♂️
Both Atlanta and Baltimore went 5-1 this past week and both of them are looking at the Yankees at #1 whose gameplay has been mediocre. The Yankees took 2 of 3 from the Rays, so what of it? Atlanta took 2 of 3 from Texas and Baltimore took 2 of 3 from Kansas City, those have got to count for something.
Yanks #1? LMAO, they've been shut out 4 times already this season and have lost the first place in AL East to O's. They've already started to fade and they're not gonna get the division lead back from O's who have gotten much better offensively from last season. Once Holliday starts hitting and Braddish/Means come back, they're gonna run away with the division.
I mean i respect your opinion, but the yankees are missing Cole, Dominguez, DJ, Trevino, Khanle, Effross plus they could always add at the trade Deadline.
@@yoelvis2424 1) What does any of that have to do with the current power ranking? 2) O's are missing two of the starters, Braddish and Means. 3) O's are in a better position to add at the deadline than Yanks because their farm system is the best in MLB and their new ownership group is richer than that of the Yanks.
Can't wait to see the 4 game series next week between the O's and Yanks. I would expect a split from these two so anything else would be epic. Some teams are benefitting from picking off the low hanging fruit here early in the season. Dodgers at #4 is a stretch for me though with a 13-11 record although it is early in the schedule. Kinda liked this shortened broadcast of the rankings where you just give us your take quickly and concisely. Enjoy the vacation.
I think people have grown tired of the Braves being #1 and so have looked for any hint of another team they can move up to #1. The Yankees and Dodgers started hot out of the gate but both have fallen off. With the Yankees you would have likely had to have been a New Yorker to actually believe that was the best team in baseball. The Braves were #1, the Braves are #1. What doesn't get mentioned enough is that were talking about a team that has been without 3 all stars Strider, Sean Murphy and Ozzie Albies. Their big dogs (Acuna, Riley and Olson) still have yet to hit full stride and put up their usual numbers. Their ace has not played like he normally does and will again. So with all that what could be the argument that they aren't #1? After all not only do they have the best record look at who they've done it against. How many teams can say they have played against the entire Championship Series from last year and have won each of those series. Were talking Phillies, DBacks, Astros and Rangers. Oh and in case anyone was wondering their offense has just carried on with more of the same from last years historic pace. They once again lead in AVG, SLG, OPS, OPS+, Runs per game just to name a few. Everyone was aboard the Dodgers offense and line up but as good as their 1-3 is their lineup 1-9 doesnt come close to matching the Braves.
When are Hunter Green and Graham Ashcraft going to put together their " stuff" with wins? I know their development was hindered by 2020 and coming off of TJ... but it seems like they should have " gotten it" by now.
Obviously biased but I think the Mariners should be above the Giants. Better Record, better run differential, had a better week, and the M's lead the league in ERA since April 10th, and it's not even close. Not to mention alot of the guys on offense are heating up. Can't really think of an argument to keep them below San Fran atp.
Hope you’re enjoying your vacation but am disappointed that you did the power rankings while away and actually did change some seedlings based on some comments but did not change the Braves ranking. Come on Jim. I’m a NYer and follow the Yankees almost as closely as the Braves. I bet they will also say they do not deserve the number one slot.
Cleveland at 8 is abysmal. Cant take the rest serious. Philly above them with a worse record for beating the same/worse teams and scoring less? Yankees above the braves and in the top 5? Sir.
Great list just disagree with Yanks at #1 I think theyre vastly overrated I don't think their Starting pitching is elite, their bullpen not really elite, and offense if elite at the very beginning of that classification. 3-7 over their last 10 as this list was built. But hey thats baseball let me change subject here and wish you an absolutely awesome vacation.
How do you still have the Dodgers in the top 10? The lost 3 straight series at home to the Padres, Nationals and Mets, not exactly the best teams out there. AT HOME! Also the Braves deserve #1
got my days confused so deleted my last comment. Yeah the sweep of Houston and 2 out of 3 against the Rangers should have put us in first. No doubt. I think Jim relies on our vote but since he can't get our vote since he is on vacation he is just playing it safe.
@@augie2802I get the rangers record doesn’t look good but we are dealing with injury issues just like Houston and our catcher was gone for the series. I would like to see a rematch later when we do have Jung and heim in the lineup along with degrom, sherzer and Bradford available to pitch.
@michaelrotter1134 yea but this Ryan guy probably started typing as soon as the ranking was shown, had blinders on and didn't care to listen to Jim's reasoning.
I can't believe I watched this whole video to see this him disgustingly suck the Yankees off at the end of it. The Brewers ahead of the Guardy's this is a joke
I expect the Orioles to jump over the Yankees next week but look at it like this. The Yankees obviously have a team that should be great offensively but has struggled over the last week and they really haven't gotten anything from Judge where the Orioles are firing on all cylinders (with the exception of Holiday and Kremer depending on how much you like him) with the Orioles playing weaker opponents and the Orioles are only a half a game ahead of the Yankees.
With all due respect, have any Yankees number one is insane. Borderline, comical and worthy of not wasting time watching future power rankings provided by your channel. I’ll give it one more week.
I'm a Braves fan and I think right this minute the Phillies are the best looking team right not. Their pitching has been un-hittable and they are playing very good ball right now. My braves look good but they aren't a pitching threat right now. They aren't losing games but they aren't winning games handedly. 3 of our last 4 games only won by D'arnaud hrs. Take any one of those away it's a total different game. I'd say Phills 1, braves 2 and Yanks 3
I think in reality you're a Phillies troll. I'm a Braves fan but the Phillies are better. Nice try Philly nation. Look at how many Braves make the All Star team compared to Philadelphia.
@mycorner4271 I really am a Braves fan. As much as i honestly hate the Phillies I can be honest with what I see. Right this minute they are playing the best baseball in mlb, right this minute that is. I definitely think we have a better overall roster but with their pitching right now, they are playing the best! We are playing good too but just not keeping up with that Philly staff
@willpina reading is fundamental, I said right this minute! As a whole team they look the best! Their pitching has been crazy good for 10 games and they are playing well. I don't think they are better than the Braves but right now I think they are playing better than the Braves as a whole that's all! I will never crown anyone Champs till they are! Hopefully the bravos will be again! Fried was dominant tonight.
3 of the teams the braves just beat in the seires were ALL in the NLCS or ALCS and swept 2 of them yet 2nd lol and lead in avg. slug. ops.with 4 injured players lololol
