love how he mentions the practicality of the move through angles and degrees ...he rlly thinks his moves through thoroughly... having heart makes a great fighter, but having brains makes the best fighter

12 to 6 elbows are illegal... So he uses 6 to 12 elbows

How fucking scary is this guy? Who else goes back, way back, into the ancient history of their craft or profession and brings back something old and forgotten and uses it to shock and stun everyone. He's just too much, for real...

0:33 He's talking about Muay Boran. I've seen this video before but I just found out about Muay Boran and have to rewatch it and finally notice that he said it in this video but I never caught it

Like how he said the traditional martial art of Muay Thai and it didn’t subtitle it. Muay Boran is slept on.

@AgentSpiral What are you basing that on? His movie fights? I'm not discrediting Bruce at all, the man was way ahead of his time. But that was in the 60s/70s. Fighting has come a long way since then.

people should watch more of muay thai fight videos to get the gist of wht silva is saying. have always wondered why no elbow strikes in mma

@TheDonKilluminaughty --you raise a good question. if tony jaa were as big as silva (the guy is pretty tiny, i mean he is thai after all LOL) that would be an interesting fight, I think tony jaa might actually be able to beat silva in class fashion, IF its traditional muy thai and not MMA rules. I bet tony jaa knows ALL the ancient moves, and silva would respect them.

@ObviousTrull Wrestling has been done for centuries as a sport, but only until recent decades has it really been used to fight. Very few kids in America learn wrestling at a young age now,and there were virtually none when Lee was alive(yes I know he was I China at the time).And Lee was learning multiple ones after his first to expand his craft before he even created the term "Jeet Kune Do".There really hasn't been anyone else in history to have absorbed so much cultural value out of fighting.

@ObviousTrull Bruce Lee did a lot of stuff outside of his movies that credits him with being one of the strongest, and probably the fastest striker in the world.Adding that with his cardio and his early foundation of MMA,fighting him would be like fighting a lighting bolt who knew martial arts.Talk about getting your ass kicked. Also I'd like to point I'm not discrediting anyone of the current MMA top contenders at all,I love MMA. However, they couldn't beat Lee. He REVOLUTIONIZED using 2 styles

@AgentSpiral May not Jaa, but Silva for sure would smash on him. And Shogun. And Velasquez. And GSP. And Aldo.

@AgentSpiral I don't need to. You're clearly helping me win this argument. "The current best MMA fighters have a one martial art background with years of experience in that,that they expanded on later to use as MMA" So did Bruce. Except change mma for jeet kune do. Which was basically mma. Except in the 70s. ZzzZZ. You're like way dumb to be arguing.

If the elbow KO'd him, how did it happen in the middle of the fight? It would be the END! Just saying
@charismatic1516

Well, maybe in his mind, he had a few more techniques lined up, so maybe it was 10th of the 20. :-)

@AgentSpiral "Very few kids in America learn wrestling at a young age now" There are thousands upon thousands of kids who learn to wrestle in america now. "here were virtually none when Lee was alive(yes I know he was I China at the time).And Lee was learning multiple ones after his first to expand his craft before he even created the term "Jeet Kune Do" And wtf point are you trying to make here? That he should be credited extra just cuz there were less wrestlers at the time?
@ObviousTrull
@ObviousTrull 13 лет назад
@AgentSpiral "He started his career learning REAL martial art, not wrestling or something at the ages of 7." Explain.

@icemanchuckliddell Tony Ja better than Bruce?That's a laugh.Bruce would put any current man in any MMA corporation(let's just use UFC for example)on the floor. Comparing Jaa to lee is like comparing a pond to a river
