4:01 I liked the kids basically showing "No, you DON'T need to spend time in space to develop as a newtype, Char's dad was wrong." (Though arguably Uso did that first.)
I'm glad this Gundam anime is the last Newtype space magic shenanigans because everything after UC 100 they're already irrelevant. I hope Sunrise will adapt Gundam F90 into anime tv series along with Gundam F91 remake as 50 episode series and eventually Crossbone Gundam anime. P.S. I like the Shezzar's Jesta mobile suit more than the 2 Gundams in Narrative.
Narrative seems to be an attempt to put the toys back in the box, to justify the regression in knowledge of Newtypes and Newtype Man-Machine-Interfaces since CCA. Unicorn took those toys and played them out to their conclusion and Narrative put them away.
If Unicorn took the newtype spiel and tech levels too far, Narrative dragged them through the mud for another few miles. It has no good reason to exist and it has no good points to bring up. The idea that Neo Zeon is still at large in the way shown in Narrative, powerful enough to give a second Neo Zeong to the actual lunatic they for some reason also gave command of a fleet rather than just throw out as a failed clone is insanely stupid. People say the novel the movie was based on is better, but it has to be fundamentally different to be salvagable as a UC Gundam entry. The only positive tting I can say for this production is the action animation is mostly good - aside from that time they literally reuse Zeta animation instead of making a few low detail frames in a background display
Seeing Phenex be like "guys look a birdie!" I hate and love NT, hate that it's feels like a rushed, hate that walking exposition dump in the form of Michele. But love the osts, Jona (he's mid just like me frrr), and Narrative Gundam. Overall the movie felt really wasted. "vigilaNTe" slaps hard
Also, the movie dropped so bad after they killed the best girl, 😭 That red haired Neo Zeon girl. Why both UC and NT have to girl their best girls bruhhh
Its main story and plot points is amazing, however, the lack of character development, lack of a solid point and a bit fast paced, telling hinders narrative heavily, there were many opportunities to expand the story such as the Titans and Aeug, but they were mainly skipped and focus on the story, only Banagher could've saved the movie which he did both figuratively and litterally
Finally! Someone says it! UC has gone on FOREVER! Every time an original series comes up, three new side stories of UC come up or some new sequal/prequel series pops up that may slightly retcon some story point. So tired of the UC.
There's nothing wrong with continuing the UC, it's just that there's literally nothing new here. The same old conflicts rehashed over and over again. The story never moves on, never changes the status quo. Unicorn too me was such a tiresome experience and Narrative just made me drop Gundam completely for a while. Tomino is (metaphorically) dead, all that's left are toys and sometimes basic super robots in a series that wants to be grounded and realistic.
