check your values before soldering ! i just built my kit and after i couldn't get it to fully power up i went component by component mouser sent 3 incorrect caps

Great resource, thanks! Not sure if it is for me, though, as all I have are Baofeng HHs and one Anytone 868, so I have a question: Does the Nucleo TNC rely on VOX to key the tx circuit? Trying to set that up on the Baofengs, using the BTech APRS cables, does not engender confidence that you are creating a stable and dependable system.

4:50 iphone user would have to have the moblinked tnc4?

Correct. iPhone doesn't support serial USB so you would need a Bluetooth device

How does this compare to the TNC4, feature wise?

Not too different. This just lacks the bluetooth and ability to configure from the Mobilinkd phone app.

Hey TC^2. Seeing that it would cost about $160 to run Mobilinkd TNC4 vs about $125 for this setup (sourcing everything including soldering iron) which one would you recommend? Bluetooth is nice and all but not something I exactly “need”

The Bluetooth is nice for sure, but if you're not too pressed about having it and don't mind soldering, this is a great inexpensive option!

Thanks for the reply! I was thinking along those lines as well. Plus currently I don’t have a soldering iron, and it’s probably something I should have lol. I think this will be the way.

Definitely a good thing to have on hand! I like the one I linked in the video and having a good helping hands set goes a long way.

Awesome! It should generally be around $50, but if you need their case, that definitely ups the price a bit. It was a fun build and I'm sure you'll enjoy putting it together! Let me know how it turns out!

Thanks for doing this video! Was looking for a cheaper alternative to the Mobilinkd TNC4. I have one, which I'm grateful for. But, I built two of the NucleoTNC 's using your videos as a reference. I couldn't be more pleased with them! Thanks again, 73's! Dean AD2Z
