2 days ago: my family finds out about garage updates from my videos Today: Misha finds out about the fleet plans from my videos At least I know it's not me, it's you.
Hey Robert can you touch up, in a q&a maybe, the reason why you moved to Germany as an American and how you started your companies like Mitchell Consulting and Apex? Love the videos! 😁
I'm an expat like you . Today I had a zoom meeting with a company in the states. They annoyed me so much . Listing to you is like the counter balance that makes me think americans aren't totally bad . Thank you .
My wheel suggestion: gold! Similar to the MR wheels. And with the rally background of the car it is also a throwback to the Subaru Impreza gold wheels!
Yes!!! I'd like to know specifically why CarboTech brakes have much higher Mu coefficients than Ferodo/Mu/Pagid. We run XP12's on our track car, but most of our clients ask for Ferodo DS2500 as they have street cars. We have access to Pagid RSL29's that I know @Misha Charoudin uses. What do you guys recommend? @robert mitchell
@@RobertMitchell why not? Would be something very cool for the staff too! Instead of bashing the little thing, give it some extra attention thru that. I would love to see this next to the mclaren and gt2 taxi clothes
Robert is like that college professor that inundates you with all the possible info, but really really wants you to succeed and is over the moon if you do! (Homage to yesterday's trail braking video)
Hey Robert, just wanna say that I rented a car and stayed at the hotel at Apex last year's summer and it was one of the greatest experiences I've had, you guys have an amazing business and place. Best of wishes for everyone at Apex, you guys deserve it.
The amount of fun combined with useful information in your video's is nothing short of amazing. Ive been following and watching you and Misha for many years now and you guys just keep making better content. Thank you.
I’ve ordered a Yaris after seeing you guys so excited over these . Not influenced by your channel just really appreciate your open and honest views great work guys 👍 .Be over next year to the ring will pop in say hi from the uk .
I couldn’t tell you how happy I am to have not influenced you into this decision. When you come down with the car we will have to do a celebratory lap together
Loving the channel so different to a lot of other automotive channels out , the lack of BS is great and not worried about what other people think. Very jealous of owning the GR such a cool little hot hatch
I really appreciate you caring about us users having to watch an awful lot of ads. I'd wish more people would think that way. You've already earned a place in my heart for the very cool Unno bike and really cemented it by giving the whole add think a thought. Please excuse my bad English I'm not a native speaker
For wheels, why not a compromise between red and white? The OZ Racing Rally gravel in white with red lettering. It can handle the curbs, aren't extremely expensive to replace, and will look awesome on the yaris.
Put a carbon fiber hood/bonnet on it, fake it til you get hold of a real one, tell the haters it's to avoid reflections from the winter sun over the Ring. Paint the wheels golden just like the GT2MR. White wheels are OK on a plain rally car, but this is a track car, it needs just that little bit of bling.
Sounds like some very sensible modifications to make the Yaris fully capable and safe for regular use on the track but at the same time keeping it fit for use on the road when required.
First of all, congrats to the next bad boy in your fleet! I would go to a similar direction, although would swap the half to a full cage (as you mentioned it's gonna be more of a track car anyways), JRZ shocks, SPG's, 4 point harness, braided lines, fancy set of brake pads / fluid, maybe a WRC style rubber lip and a bigger wing, full exhaust and the Protracks but in satin black wrapped in some AR1 / 03G's. Should be a blast to beat it through Hatzenbach.
Thanks a lot for the link to the wallpapers! Was actually looking for a new wallpaper, but now it's hard to choose because they all look good. I'd say white wheels, will look good on a white car and with a coating they are quite easy to keep clean as well.
Ok but the Megane just looks badass with it, I'm not so keen on it being on the Yaris, maybe coz the Yaris is too small? Idk 🤔 I'm all for any customization tho
Thank you for the Dropbox link! I do love a good quality wallpaper. I really enjoyed the trail braking video too, a concept I was aware of but you explained it really well. Looking forward to more driving techniques and Yaris development! White wheels get my vote too. Hopefully see you guys in 2021 for a lap.
Would love to see an homage to a classic Toyota Rally livery. Maybe the Castrol Celica or the red Repsol. But change the logos like the Citroën Gauloises/GO !!!!
My brother just got his GR & I must say it looks good in real life. In your case I’d go with the white wheels, it would go great together with the white & black accents! Keep up the great videos 🙏🏾
That’s why I’ve ordered 2 Plain white for track only, red for road and keep...(forever), I’m looking at fabricating an inconel manifold, hybrid turbo, catless titanium full system, solid boost pipes, and a day on the rolling toad getting a custom map.
I would do a front and rear tower brace, remove the rear seats, muffler bypass so it would be lighter and not super loud, possibly wider wheels not sure of the wheel spec on the stock car, something similar to bc racing coilovers, pedal commander if it's made, and possibly headers if the low end torque is not good in the gr. I would prefer no half cage because of usability and a tune.
I really like the white rim rally look on cars like the Yaris ;) - Very interesting details about trail breaking / weight shifting etc. I do race sim racing and that is something that I needed to learn first.
@@RobertMitchell I have no commercial connections with Intrax, their ARC(anti roll control) sistem just helped my car a lot, M2 with m4 GT4 uniball arms . I s still very driveble(55 clicks, using 35 for street and 10 open on track) on the street and very competent on the track using 270 Michelin slick .
This is a fantastic video that captures the excitement created by the GR Yaris together with how it can be optimised for the unique challenges of the Nordschleife. Very excited about this project. Thank you for adding to your fleet. If white colour coded to the cars body colour please. Better still wheels and livery in gold to match your GT2 RS MR. Make it a cheekly little brother to your big boy.
Love the idea of white wheels, the awesome Class B cars from the 80s come to mind (Audi Quattro, Lancia Delta, etc.). Carbon rear diffuser (on a white car looks great) with akrapovic exhaust system.
What about a set of Gold & a set of White for the GR? Wet and dry best of both worlds and keeps the look fresh. Loving the constant flow of videos your knocking out now Robert, be tier 1 media in no time 😁🤘🏼
- white wheels 🤍 - make a custom mounting frame to get the seat as low as possible (pole position) - KW Clubsport - maybe go for an automatic 4-point harness (Schroth asm autocontrol) - half cage + make a nice, carpeted plate to keep road noise out - light exhaust (like HKS legamax) - remove speakers (fake engine noise is bad) or kill switch - light battery (liteblox?) - TRD or Cusco braces maybe
My 2 choices for wheels would be 1) GOLD as the accent colour - similar to the GT2/RS Toyota GT 86 look - 2nd is black - all my Trackwheels are black - don't want to be cleaning white wheels imo. 100% the Clubsport 1/2 cage is the correct way to go - that's what I did in my GT3 because I want to be able to drive it. Classic Toyota 80s liveries were gold wheels with yellow and red stripes - that is where I think you should take this.
Club sport style for this car is prefect. And your approach sounds very sensible since you wanna drive it on the road too. Red GR with white rims will be very oldschool rally style :)
id go for white wheels. I live a km away from a nice track so my dream GR Yaris would be white (maybe a dark grey wrap in the future) with PPF, black pro track wheels, track oriented suspension setup, half cage, light tune to get 300hp, sporty (not straight piped) exhaust, Recaro seats and maybe a sporty air filter with a bigger intake. Although, since I’m in Argentina I would have a set of rally tires, light pods and mud flaps for a trip to rally stage locations in Cordoba.
Robert, can you discuss wheel offsets and the impact to the suspension geometry, handling, tire size etc. Thanks. Really looking forward to seeing the build and videos with the GR Yaris!!
Another fantastic video. When you go to Itali, maybe think about the posibility to take some days in Slovenia, we have beautiful montain roads and scenaries. Keep the good work and remain as you are.
@@RobertMitchell I'm planing to visit Nurburgring and Apex next summer, maybe do there a team building, some laps,.... The Yaris seems awsome to start learning the track.
I agree on not putting crazy bumperkit on it. An new OEM bumper is much cheap to replace when you have a little crash and taken off a couple cm plastic. But not for power, sound is emotion: air intake and exhaust adds a lot to the experience. So please so! Wake it up!!
Robert...please get your gr Yaris on the ramp again and see if Toyota have left the plumbing in there for the intercooler spray system to be re fitted. Thanks and great content and channel you and misha produce.
No problems with adverts for me. A simple click when skip appeared and Iam good for free content 👍 Orange apex decals and wheels please, might aswell stand out 😎
I’m looking at getting a Yaris early in the new year ... and mod list is very similar to yours Robert 👍.. first off some high end dampers ( for me more tarmac rally spec ) something like oroflex or any of the big player’s in proper MS suspension 💪🏻👌... then look at what people are getting power wise with simple decat remaps ect ...with pads and lines to see how good the breaks are ... hopefully just pads n lines will do the trick 🤞see what bits inside can go .. then that’s probably it hopefully 👌🤞🤞.
