What is it going to take to get this company to be a normal company that sells shit through their own damned website and not through endless kickstarters? So if you want to buy accessories to your tables, you don't have to wait for another goddamned kickstarter and can get it on your own schedule when you can afford it?

My issue with them cutting all staining is their whole thing was "get this table, its future proof because you can upgrade later etc" and then if you got an old one its not going to match moving forward... womp womp

Welp, this company that I loved and wanted to give my money keeps finding ways for me to not give it to them. The reliance on KS is annoying to say the least. I went from backing the GM screen to getting it from someone else and now I’ve been waiting for this to happen and the attitude and performance of the last one and the breaking of promises just makes me want to go get my table somewhere else as well. Love the videos and the employees but it seems like WW only wants certain customers and I guess I’m not one of them, hope you guys do well and keep your customers first.

I am an International Backer from Australia, I can undersand that the logistics of shipping is expensive and a nightmare. But i feel not allowing international backers to buy accessories is yet another punch in the gut for us. I think a good smooth over and gesture to the International fans would be an accessories only tier. I want some of the new accessories especially if boby gets his cheese boards.

My MGT Fast Pass order will be my last with Wyrmwood. Wyrmwood as a company has ideas, pretty impressive ideas. However you promise things and you don't follow through, and the derision it feels the company has for customers who's only sin is choosing to buy products that were offered by you but you no longer want to have the hassle in creating or supporting is crushing and reflects badly on you because you were the ones offering those options in the first place. You alienated so many backers with the lack of transparency on what was going on with espresso from the beginning. MGT is meant to be modular, it's the first word in the product name. All I can say now is to do better going forward before you lose the trust of even more customers. I sincerely wish you and all your employees well. Your company could be quite something, but I don't believe it will be.

If you wanted to expand your existing table, you want to add the extra toppers that match the existing toppers

No international shipping is a huge mistake. You sold products to international people claiming that they would be able to upgrade in the near future. HIRE SOMEONE THAT DOES SHIPPING PROFESSIONALLY You at one point had a social media employee trying to figure out logistics.

I get that the stains are a production pain, but they also tended to be the most affordable offers you made. After a recent Kickstarter that failed on breadth, and keeping in mind how big of a chunk of MGT 1.0 was Coffee, is this really the play? (Not that my European ass is the target audience here - and I’m saving up for Sit-Stand, anyway.)

Been wanting this table for so long. Was really excited that it wasn’t planned to be another kickstarter, but announcing that it is another KS and what seems like several planned accessories that were in the works forever ago are almost slipping through the cracks, and desires to now do a last minute redesign on the game deck. Just makes me feel like this is flying by the seat of y’all’s pants and setting yourself up for another hit. That and redesigning the game deck will probably make it more expensive, with what I’m sure is already going to be a decent jump in price. Just worried how this will play out and I know I’ll be upset if I can’t get a spot. I work as a trucker so if I miss the release due to driving I’ll be pissed lol

As a big international customer, I want to return Doug's comment - think I'm out on WW after the current Holiday shambles and international shipping fiasco!

OK, this is why I hate the Kickstarters process you always go through. 1) you can never predict when you will and won't have the money for the product, so if the Kickstarter doesn't come at the exact moment you want or need the table, you are sol for 3 years. And 2) you can't keep consistency between Kickstarters. MGT was core marketed as the "table you can't outgrow" that you'd sell upgrades forever... Unless you bought 2 of the most popular colors apparently. So anyone who bought elm or espresso in MGT1 are just locked out of upgrading now? How do people trust you to keep your word on this stuff?

Is there EVER going to be a chance that the original espresso stain comes back? This is a spit in the face of those of us who were told that "you don't have to get everything now, you can expand", and now the original espresso maple stain isn't available. And just to add a couple of drink holders in black walnut, the closest available wood to the original stain, you're going to charge me $250 flat shipping for the fast pass? Pretty upset with how those of us who got in the first wave of espresso got absolutely fucked by this.

Getting farther and farther away from customer base

Guys - if you are doing a War Gaming table length again, please add the center support. It is required (watch my full review video for input here). The war gaming table toppers (as is) are warping all over the place. I have two areas now I can't even fully close anymore without a gap (that's with a middle replacement sent to me already). So this finger joint solution sounds like a must and the original design should not even be an option, unless you want rework and extra overhead overtime as it scales with sales (it really should be mostly effecting the wide war gaming table I would think due to the span). How do you control this with the Prophesy? Are the boards thicker, is it the shape of that table, possibly the overall max span length? I'm seriously trying to help here, not bitch. For anyone reading this, the War Gaming table should have cost probably 3K for the maple (the original KS had it significantly less that that) so the value is massively there - even with my issues, I love my table and get nothing but complements on it!

Wow. So y'all really learned absolutely nothing from the desk failure then. Stop with the damn Kickstarters, especially for products that you know the market for. I was psyched for MGT2.0, but now I doubt I'll even get a spot, & even if i did, apparently I'll have to cross my fingers &hope that craftsman's promise will be applicable after I purchase. Y'all seem to have lost control of things. Each decision lately seems to be made defensively, as though you're trying to keep from spinning out.

The whole selling point of this table was that it was modular , and that you could “never outgrow it” but taking away so many options has left first time Kickstarter backers not be able to expand their tables if they wish to because you no longer are going to be offering the wood option that was literally most popular . I get staining was an issue for you guys but at the same time wormwood seems to promise so many things but never really seems to keep their promises…. 😅

For international you could consider working with a partner in Europe and do a shipping container of all the table to them every 6 months and they reship locally. I know shipping large, heavy single objects is very expensive, but if you schedule a couple of bulk shipping containers it might be worth it.

I got my table so I'm cool. However... I'm not sure how skipping espresso isn't a terrible business decision. Wasn't it literally the most popular option last time? Now that the first wave of people have got their tables, your demand is likely going to be naturally lower this time. Remove an affordable darker option and you could end up screwing yourselves. Just don't want you guys to end up with another modular desk situation.

As an Australian fan who has followed wyrm life for years and unfortunately missed the first MGT kickstarter, I had hoped that I would be able to join in on the fun with this one when it was announced years ago, so I am crushed to hear that I won’t be able to get a table because of shipping logistics

So I got Espresso on a modular table that I now cannot upgrade in the future if I want anything to match? I don't know about anyone else, but I thought the promise was that we can upgrade these guys later. Buy less before and then upgrade slowly. Seems like a huge kick to the teeth to the people who were planning to do that like me. Honestly don't want to be a annoying and mad customer, but just feels like I was lied to from the original promise.

Older videos seemed to cover more fun or interesting things. This one is almost entirely an ad for the next kick starter. What's happening in the shop? Have you set up any new equipment? Can we see you receiving a huge order of wood? What about a 10 second time-lapse of the rip saw going through 100s of board feet? What were the last prototypes Crazy Ed and Jason made? IDK, build a box around a loaf of bread and put it through the frame saw. The episode wouldn't feel so corporate if there were other things besides some banter and talking about new stuff we can buy. The previous episode was also mostly just "look at the cool dice you can buy".

Any chance you could do international shipping for accessories only? We really need a few ‘tool bars’ for our table.

I was out, because I bought Espresso Maple, and now I can't buy matching stuff. But a neoprene mat in my table would be incredible!

I gotta agree with a lot of the comments questioning removing your absolute top seller because staining is complicated. Y'all do complicated all the time. I honestly think this is a serious misstep. I also have concerns about my ability to get conversion kits in the future, though this stems because I was one of the first MGT backers, and have the OG leg joins, and that got changed like... the day after I got my table lol. I love ya, Doug, but you are coming across as WAY too impulsive in these decisions, and I worry you guys are rushing. But, then again, what do I know?

Is there a timeline for when the MGT will be on the website? I'd like an option for pay for a table installments like affirm.

I LOVE you talking about a whole new table when you are over a year behind on the one I ordered, that I paid you over $3000 for, and I'm still looking at another 3-4 month delay. Great use of my money. This was supposed to be our 25th anniversary gift, and it's been frustrating to know it's coming 'sometime'.

The Tool Bar should mount near-flush with the table edge so players can put a tablet or other accessories across it. Basically make it a smaller, more modular player desk. If there are concerns about things rolling off then you could add a small trough across the edge of it to catch pens or objects that might roll off a bit.

Well all that saving and waiting for the MGT 2.0 after first hearing it would make a return, even emailing asking if it was definitely coming back. To now be told no international shipping stings. Guess I'll look elsewhere (UK)

They should really just get ride of the kickstarter mindset and switch over to just pre orders. Set a goal. didn't make it? Refund/gift certificate the people who paid the pre order. They'd make more money because they don't have to pay the kickstarter fees. AND they canceled their sit stand because it didn't complete within the first few days. THEY ARENT EVEN DOING KICKSTARTER CORRECTLY

Requesting a change: love the idea of being able to choose a width, but can the playing surface of the standard increase to 38in or 40in. With the sizes of board games now, 36in is a tad too tight for a lot of game boards with individual player boards, and 49in is definitely too big for many rooms

You're cutting the staining option which made up like 50% of your orders?

Literally so many people said not to put MGT on kickstarter when sit/stand video was released. Just do it on the website. So this isn’t good news…. Also, by not offering the same woods and stains as the previous launch you’re literally shooting your self in the foot, and doing it on purpose. People are gonna be like “oh I can get a matching table for the next room…..oh….I can’t because I got soemthing they cut this time. Guess I’m not getting a new table because I want something that matches. I’ll just go to Walmart and get something cheap, but looks well with what I already got” Big big oof. I hope this doesn’t kill the company

So not only are you raising the price of MGT in general, we're going to have to pay EXTRA on top of that to get toppers that don't look like mass-produced wood flooring? I thought the quality and value of your products was supposed to get better over time, not worse.

For the international shipping problem... Why not sell plans for us international folk. Sothat we could make tables, etc from wood species native to our country. It would make it feel more authentic/homey and would supply a sense of pride in manual labor for those who have never "touched grass" let alone seen a tree or the wood that came frome it.

12k views, and only under 700 likes. Yikes you can tell from youtube there are clear mess ups being made from Wyrmwood with MGT. especially with the drop of espresso.. literally the most bought table of the first round of MGT.

Super excited for MGT 2.0. I missed the first round so this one is tempting. Doug really needs to stop with the “fuck them” comments. It hurts his brand and, as the CEO, it’s even more damaging. The change of the materials (no stains and not the same woods available) negates the “grow with it” notion that was such a big thing in the first round. That’s what a lot of folks banked on for the future. I guess that doesn’t fit within the Craftsman’s Promise (since WW is run by craftsman and they made a promise in the last KS). Shame. Maybe I’m less excited about MGT 2.0 than I thought.

I can see this mgt 2.0 going the same way as the sit stand desk. I'm from Australia, so obviously not as "important" as an American from USA, but the way that the WW team speak to their potential customers is pretty disappointing. Saying "fuck international customers" might seen like good content for wyrmlyfe but it's not a good look and will put potential customers off.

I didn’t back the last MGT Kickstarter due to space and money constraints. Ever since you guys talked about another Kickstarter I was hoping to get a shot this time. Well thanks for deciding for me. There are a few really great gaming tables available within the EU, they are just not modular. In addition to the non-shipping, screwing the Modular part up for old customers is also a big bright red flag. My interest in the MGT is gone now.

Your a multimillion dollar company. Why is international shipping hard? yes there will be delays as it has to go through customs but that should be expected when your buying from a international company. Also I dont like the ditching of woods. Since you have been advertising this as a table that is future proof and that you can buy more essesories later, Everything offered in MGT 1 should be offered in MGT 2. I am definitly interested in a MGT but I think it might have to wait till it comes to the website so I can pay in installments. It will all depend on when this kickstarter launches.

should you go with the warehouse in europe, you might want to consider adding different paying methods as well. credit cards are not as common here and cost a whole lotta money just to maintain, for the length of time between backing and actually paying for a kickstarter.

Be Australian, don't have room for MGT 1.0, its fine ill just wait for 2.0 as doug promised, 2.0 is announced, hype, immediately get denied its odd that they're crying out for demand to feed the system they eventually got working but immediately after the failure of the desk Kickstarter the first thing they do is cut out the entire global market. First MGT was amazing, so many options, colours and styles and accessories, and this time round its just cutting back left, right and centre

The main selling point of MGT is its modularity. It's the fact that you can buy it and keep improving it in the future. You sold it as future-proof. Now, with many of the decisions you've shared, you're effectively voiding that selling point. Many customers will not believe that it is future-proof and will fear that the options they select will not be available a year from their purchase.

Does wormwood still need to relly on kickstarter to survive though? If you release the product on your website, people can buy it and pay the shipping they need for where they are in the world. I mean thanks for including Canadians, but you're cutting yourself of profits. I understand it's scary not to be able to predict the future but the way this is going if kickstarter sinks wormwood follows

You’re an established million dollar company, just put it on your website and set it up for pre order, that way you can set up payment plans and people can see what they’re going to get, how much its going to cost, and when they’re going to get it. Also getting rid of your most popular option (espresso maple) is such a shot in the foot. Idk what you guys are thinking. Promising the table is future proof, upgradeable and that there’ll be more matching accessories coming, then axing it is a huge slap in the face to the people that backed and waited patiently through all your delays and f ups. I can see you didn’t learn anything from sit stand. Focus on a sustainable business model and fulfil your other kickstarters before thinking about starting another.

Another Kickstarter? Thought they'd learned their lesson from the SSD. Maybe they can add a third tier that would serve as a transitional stage from KS to Website: pledge a deposit, get your place in line behind the Tier 1 and Tier 2 backers, and then when the KS fulfillment is nearing completion, those Tier 3 backers would get invited to order a table from the website with their pledge as a credit towards its purchase. Almost identical to Pre-Ordering, but it goes through the website rather than Backer Kit and can continue indefinitely. The downside is that post-campaign tables will almost certainly become more expensive than the in-campaign tables, but the upside is that installment financing becomes available. For folks who don't have all of the liquid assets they need available within the narrow window of time that is a KS campaign, this would be a win.

IDK my gut reaction is a Desk Kickstarter 2.0 coming. Limiting spots, cutting stains, no international. All in the current financial climate and you know with the inflation the prices are going to go up. *cringe*

Well I feel a lot better about cancelling my order for a Tavern Elm MGT. Not only would I have gotten it 18ish months late, the whole option would end up being dropped.

I think this is unlikely but I would love to be able to get chairs form wyrmwood in the same woods as my table without having to go the prophecy route.

What about finger-jointed toppers with a select grade veneer for the toppers? Keeps the waste down, but offers the appearance of select grade wood. As for the wargaming game deck, put the hinges (if hinges are used) on the inside to keep them hidden. This will maintain a clean look. How about offering (like Bobby commented on the sit/stand desk) built in LED lighting? Looking forward to seeing what else you guys are going to come up with. Keep of the good work!!
