Great conversation. As someone who previously worked in banking, keep your accounts separate. If you have a joint account, deposit household money only. Even that account should have restrictions. I've seen way too many times where the relationship falls apart and money disappears out of joint accounts and someone is crying trying to figure out how they're going to pay bills. Or someone takes out a loan/LOC, pulls all the money, removes their name off of the account and now the other party is responsible. Beautiful relationships/ marriages can turn into ugly court battles. Just err on the side of caution.

Money is scary for many couples. They don’t know how to talk about money. Their parents may not have talked about money or their parent’s finances were in shambles. When it comes to money and finances, you need to be just as compatible. They say that opposites attract. However, in relationships, when you are with someone who has different values and perspectives about money, it can be a battle.

I think these guys are trying to sound "progressive" or open-minded or whatever. But in reality a man (or husband) does not get the respect or is not looked up to the same if he is making less $ than her. I don't care what they say, it just doesn't work in the real world, especially with black couples. A woman making more money is going to be domineering, disrespectful and treating that man like he ain't st** whenever they have a disagreement. And if she owns the house with only her name on it she is always gonna be threatening to put his a** out at the drop of a hat. I have seen this scenario too many times Men should always make more....Period!

So you are saying a man should make more money so the woman would respect him🤔. First why would a woman get with a man if he makes less money and she knows she will disrespect him...second if she has a house and he is living there its because she asked him to move in knowing he made less money... If a woman is with a man and feels the need to disrespect him because he makes less money then that speaks to her character and he shouldn't be with her.

*We need more of this* However, *black women* on average out earn black men & this would be fine if this did not breed insecurity in black men. Men will say they want their woman to hold her own and then will turn around & feel emasculated by her achievements, when they could be putting that energy into fueling their ambition to make more.

It doesn't matter who makes more money in the relationship if you both don't have the same values and trust in each other to make a relationship work. You both have to be honest with yourself in how you value money. If money equals control and not leadership and partnership, that relationship is doomed from the start. Money does not make a man and both men and women should not use money as a way to control and manipulate. Communicate on how you both want to use your finances and know what qualities you want from each other to make each other happy and make your relationship as easy as possible.

Not to undermine the $100k in a year, but that’s not hard to make when you have skills that set you apart AND you UNDERSTAND YOUR VALUE. Don’t even need a college degree for that. I used to think that was major money, but I don’t see it like that anymore. We get paid on the level of demand for what we do, how good we’re at doing it and how hard it is to replace us. Most people are capable of making $100k/year, but don’t believe it. The only person that’s holding themself back is them.
@Thatbul

Let’s stop lying for social media. Majority of people are never going to crack 6 figures and it’s not because of not having a skill.
@hymnodyhands
@hymnodyhands Год назад
@@Thatbul The majority of people are never going to crack six figures on merely earned income, and that is almost all people think about... but, with dedication and understanding the 21st century economy, $100K a year and more are attainable for those that want it badly enough to humble themselves and follow proven systems. But the key is knowing one's value and being willing to be humble enough to learn how to work in this economy. It is a long and humbling journey, but it can be done. Two brothers that have done it have channels: Tony Gaskins (also see his channel "The Study" for more BM doing it) and JT's Automations.

That’s the every dollar has a destination each month. Joint accounts for house and separate for our own allowance and how we choose to spend it. I want me and my husband to live on one income (his) and invest mine and use for travel and things we will enjoy together. This way if one of us becomes employed for any reason the stress will not be totally burden on our marriage…we can coast a while. Pay check to pay check is divorce in the making he’s not doing his part as a man and leader of the household which creates insecurity for his wife and instability for their marriage. This isn’t Providing or protecting or a turn on 🥴
