Here's a very popular mixed that set that i think looks great, and has a lot of room to be customized/tailored to your available charms. It will require a handicraft +4 talisman at minimum. Helios/Selene X ooo Garuga X Seltas X Garuga X Rath Soul Z With merely a handicraft +4 talisman and no decorations, that alone will get you HG earplugs, razor sharp, AND Sharpness +1. The reason you need a handicraft talisman is that handicraft decorations have negative points towards razor sharp. From there, the set is yours. A single expert 1 gem will get you crit eye +1. You could raise that to +3, you could gem in rodeo god and make it a great glaive set. If you're handicraft has extra points in a skill, you could gem that in very easily. Using charge blade or gunlance, gem artillery, the seltas arms have 3 points already. If you have a handicraft +6, you could swap the arms out for agnaktor, or rath soul, or whatever. The base skills of this set are great, and it's flexibility is unmatched.

I came across this mixed set earlier today and thought it was pretty cool: Miralis Diadem, Grand divine Ire Robe, Kujula Grip, grand divine Ire Obi, and Miralis drogues. Gives: Honed blade and Latenet Power +1 naturally, with +3 into sharpness, +8 into attack, +5 into unshakeable, +3 into elemental, and +2 into both unscathed and spirit. With a total of ten slots, two OOO, two O, and one OO. I feel using a 3 slot talismen with some points (+7 would be ideal) sharpness and gemming in 5 into unshakable, 2 points into attack, and/or 7 into elemental whould make this set work, but it really depends on if you have the right talismen and if you use the right weapon.

This is an awesome set! I'm currently using this with the Chernobog Scythe. Although, my fellow hunters usually don't wait for me to get out my ultra.

I use a seregios LBG set that's a slight variation on Gaijinhunter's set. Vayu sedition with precise jewel 2, zinogre helm z with evasion jewel 2, ace vest with precise jewel 2, gogma guards with two fungiform jewels, any torso up waist, ace leggings with 3 fungiform jewels, and a normal up +6 talisman with 1 evasion jewel 1 and 1 evasion jewel 2. It gives fleet feet, evasion +1, normal/rapid up, trajectory, and mushromancer.

my mixed sets use parts from zinogre diablos star knight chaotic brach and cista... the parts paired with a divine blessing 10 talisman gives you anything basic and can sometimes give you enough slots for attack L with a few other free skills for agility and mounting/ko skills

Im quite proud of my Bai Bai Kaiser set. It has: Skull Visage Kaiser Mail X Kaiser Vambraces X Kushala Cocoon X Tetsucabra Graves X If you add the right talismans and decorations, you can get Focus, Sheath Control, Sharpness +1, Critical Draw and Evade +1. Its a Great Sword users dream! (especially good cause I main great swords ;3)

I'd love to see a set focussing on the LIghtbreak bow that would benefit gunner. Something that might decrease coatings, and sheathing speeds, and help with evade and defense?

if you have an edgemaster+4 talisman with one slot, you can get a mixed set with honed blade, challenger+2, HG earplugs, razor sharp, and if you use one slot on a weapon you can get crit eye+1, the set is black belt helm(torso up), garuga chest piece, kujula grip, golden rajang waist, and any torso up leg piece. i use it as an all around mix set

As a big user of Charge Blade I'm so glad I discovered you. Just finished making set and it is great. ( I'm actually still working on Chernobogs Scythe need more Kushala stuff). Nice set. You may want to add an annotation tho: blast isn't affected by status +2. You need bombadier for blast. I'm quite proud of my expedition set. The legs are a bit slim compared to the rest, but I find the overall look pleasing on female (no idea about males) with green dyes. Seltas Helm X - Fortitude jwl 2 Kujula Cista - Fortitude jwl 1 Seltas Vambracaes X - Fortitude jwl 2 Seltas Faulds X - Fortitude jwl 2 Black Leather Chaps - Potential jwl 1 4 slots between weapon and charm. If you only have 3 slots between charm and weapon you can skip Artillery. Handicraft +5 - Potential jwl 2 + Potential jwl 1 Weapon - Artillery jwl 1 The skills are: Adrenaline + 2 Fortify Sharpness + 1 Razor Sharp Artillery Novice Obviously you're supposed to eat for Felyne Foodie, die twice, then stay under 40% HP. You becomes extremely durable thanks to fortify and do insane damage with fortify and adrenaline + 2 active. I use it with Chernobog for the crazy ultra but any weapon work. The Artillery skill is just here as a bonus.

About waking up the monster with multiple hits... that can work for a more casual hunting, but for the engame you'll want to use bombs cause they are more powerful and get x3 damage bonus.

For the oddball elemental greatsworder, there is this set: Kushala Glare X Diablos Mail X Kushala Grip X Kushala Cocoon X Torso Up Handicraft +4 OOO With two Draw Jewel 2, one Elemental Crit Jewel 2, and a Charger Jewel 3, you get... Sharpness+1 Critical Draw Focus Elemental Crit With space to gem in tremor res or evasion+1(can do both with a two slot weapon). I've been using this since I hit g3 and I'm having trouble switching to a traditional GS set. Demonlord Rod and Daora's Deathmaker are too pretty.

I'll try to modify it a bit (well, i love charged blade, but for status effect i prefer sword and shield or dual blades)

Gives sharpness plus one with a +3 handicraft tali, razor sharp, high grade earplugs, rodeo god with decorations and critical eye +1, able to be customised for a lot of other sets too! Try it out :)

here's my suggestion for Insect Glaive users to give as much damage as a great sword users: Shah Dalamadur Helm Gold Rajang Chest Gold Rajang Waist Rusted Kushala braces Rath Soul Z/Miralis Grieves This will give you the honed blade skill but with the proper decorations and talismans you can get: Honed Blade Spirit +2 and even Razor Sharp I suggest this set with the Anubis Glaive (Honed with power) so your power cango from 1040 to 1450 if you are fully juiced

I can't make mixed sets myself, but maybe Miranda could help with the idea I have. I mean, people are constantly getting hurt, and you can be so limited at healing items. So, why not a Sword and Shield set with Quick Eating +2 and Wide Range +2 (other positive perks as well), that way, you don't need to put your weapon away, eat super fast, and heal the entire party at an instant. You can try Mycology, but i don't think you can spread the Dragon Toadstool heal to the party, but who knows!

This set gives you: HG Earplugs, Quick Sheath, Critical Draw, Razor Sharp & Focus.

The Empress X full set can get you Expert +13 Guard +10 Mechanic +10 CritStatus +6 FreeElemnt +4 Cold Res -9 So I gemmed in status attack+2 and crit status. I use it for my status DB's.

I foud a good g rank mixed gathering set.(Hawk set if your character is male) Feline Hairband Weapon (3 blessing jewels) Lecturer's Suit X (3 gathering jewels) Lecturer's Braces X (2 gathering jewels) Iron Belt (1 charmer jewel) Lecturer's Boots X (1 gathering jewel) Talisman charmer +6, whim +3 (3 blessing jewels) This combo will give: Charm God Gathering God Speed Gather. Devine Whim If you have a talisman with more points in whim you'll need less jewels and slots to get devine whim. If you can't get whim at all there's always the woodsman skill at the kitchen too. The defense of this set will not be the greatest and to avoid being one shot by g-rank monsters that tend to show up at times I recommend taking a weapon honed for defense(if it has defense points naturally it can't hurt either.)

i really liked your idea on the sleep set but i dont like the chest piece it really lowers the defense on the set so what i did was replace that with the kaiser chest piece and kept everything else still got handicraft, focus, status crit, but also got hg ear plugs did all of this with some gemming and not too rare of a tailsman. also my defense can go much higher now, but i would still like to have termor res great job on the vid Alex!!

heres a good idea for a mix set. a mix set that dual blade users can use for sharpness increase, evasion, steady hand, and other good dual blade skills.

Sadly, I haven't made it to G-rank yet.... But I still have armor sets to recommend. My CB High rank set is Rathian Helm S, Artian Mail S, Auroros Gauntlets, Chrome metal Coil, and diablos graves. Gem in 4 Destroyer jewels (2 must go in the chest), 2 shield jewels, and 4 fencer jewels. I also use a Recovery Level Up +6, three slot talisman. Using that I get Rec Level Up, Partbreaker, mind's eye, and Guard Up. (I'm terrible with guarding). It doesn't look too bad, honestly, and it's been a big help with farming.

I made a mixed set that's pretty good for increasing the potential of charge blade impact phials :) Hawkcap X - Artillery jewel 1 - X2 Grand divine ire robe - Artillery jewel 1 - X2 Kujula grip - Throttle jewel 1 - X1 Grand divine ire obi - Throttle jewel 2 - X1 Miralis drogues - Throttle jewel 1 - X1 Skills are honed blade, latent power +2, artillery novice, and quick sheath. As for the talisman, all you need is sheathing +6 OOO (however, if you don't have this you can just swap the helmet and the talisman for a different skill other than quick sheath). I know its not the best, but IMO it looks amazing, and whenever I'm creating a mixed set, my inner fashion hunter always comes out. Try and consider it, if you like it. I'd really appreciate it.

so i made a cool mixed g rank armor set using slagtoth hood X, Ace Mail, Arc vambraces X, Ace greeves, and Arc faulds with a handicraft+5 talisman. using a few decorations and slots available i have the skills : Recovery speed+2, fleet feet, sharpness+1, and Divine blessing. its also possible to gem in challenger if desired :)

Excuse me, but Status attack +2 does not, in fact, affect Blast--Bomb boost affects that. But Status crit does affect both regular status damage and Blast.

While I realise the charm is fairly ridiculous I'm proud of this one: Skull visage Gauaga Mail x Black belt vambraces Narga X waist and legs Sharpness+6 expert+14 OO Skills: Evasion+2 Evade extender Razor sharp HG earplugs Critical eye +3 (this could be changed based upon the charm) I use this with the seregios switch axe mostly.

This set gives: Challenger+2 Critical Eye+2 HG Earplugs Sharpness +1 and Razor Sharp I usually use this set with Daoras Thwartois or the Desert Rose.

1:25 Blast is not affected by Status+1/2. Bombardier improves Blast.

I have this custom set I use called the, fanclub hunter. It uses the: garuga mask, fanclub goldsuit, miralis Griever's, kaiser tassets X, and tempest Yakama. The charm is simple, +4 handicraft. Just add a handicraft +1 Jewel to the. mask, and you get the following skills: latent power +2, sharpness +1, attack up (S) , and earplugs. Enjoy it :)

im a support class main in MH4U (lance, horn, etc) i dont use a mix set instead i went with the full Nargacuga X with Talisman Status +6 giving me; Evasion +3, Status atk +2, Evade Extender, & Sneak. I use it with the lance as evade lancer with my gogma and Gobul weapon when we go on group hunts

I have a similar set to this but it's with artillery instead of focus because of my charm and the fact that I use gunlance.

i know this is extremely late but is it possible to run this with a healing hone rather than the attack one (sorry if those aren't the actual names) because i have grown fond of it and really don't wanna switch off of it but if it doe better then i'll gladly do it for dps purposes edit: Yes, i know that the monster will be asleep a lot of the time and the damage will most likely be used more often, its just that as you mentioned, the threshold in which the monster will go back to sleep gets higher and higher, you may have slight trouble keeping up with it if you're as bad at dodging as i am and would rather have a way to heal while having you're weapon out than some extra damage for when the monster goes to sleep

Can you tell us what decorations you are using?

This was a gunlance set I made Seltas helm Z Grand Gloaming Plate Seltas Vambraces Z Vangis Coil Seltas Greaves Z You get crit eye 1 right away, and youre only 1 point away form artillery novice, 2 from part breaker, and 3 from load up. Since the shells aren't affected by a monster's defense partbreaker is amazing. You can gem in those other skills easily and all you need is a good artillery gem.

I got one that's pretty much a Melynx and Felyne++ dream, but works with other status weapons with no affinity. If it has high affinity like Nerscylla weapons, then I suggest running Grand Mizuha instead of this mix It has: Sharpness+1, Statuks Atk+2, Status Crit and Crit Eye+3 You need a +5 handicraft talis, but if the talis doesn't needs slots (although if doesnt have slots you'll need weapon slots, 2 weapon slots I think) Basically it's: Empress X Kaiser X Grand Mizuha Grand Mizuha Grand Mizuha Looks pretty good if you colour everything red to match with the Kaiser chest And it's a Melynx and Felyne++ Dream because for Dual Blades, if the first hit of demon dance is a crit the rest will be... Crit Eye+3 adds I think 20 affinity so status crit will start racking up after a while

Giant Hermitaur Lance Gravios Helm X Hermitaur Chest X Gravios Braces X Hermitaur Waist X Gravios Greaves X Guts +6 Guard up +3 00- *Note, guts is not necessary! You just need at least a Guard Up +3 00- Ironwall Jewel 1 x1 Guts Jewel 2 x1 Guts Jewel 1 x1 Shield Jewel 1 x1 Shield Jewel 2 x1 Defense Jewel 2 x3 Skills: Defense Up (XL) Guard +2 Guard Up Guts I suggest honing the giant hermitaur lance for defense, because it will help get the maximum defense for this set! When you max this set out it gives 693 defense So let's do the math here... 693 + 1(defense of character) +30 defense(if you have the armortalon and armorcharm in your pouch) +120(the defense of the honed weapon) + how much defense def Up XL gives= im guessing around 900 defense! That's just the armor and skills! So 900 + HH Def boost L= no more than 1100 defense! Woo-doggy that's a LOT

The "set" I have is more of a template. It has several points into supportive and offensive skills as well as a plethora of slots to gem in whatever you like. The set gets way more mileage from weapons benefiting from focus (sorry HH, Lance, etc) but you can still make something worthwhile despite having a throwaway skill. Lagiacrus Helm X Kushala Cista X Lagiacrus Braces X Kushala Cocoon X Lagiacrus GreavesX 10 open slots 10 points into focus 9 points into awaken 7 points into evasion 6 points into tenderizer 5 points into protection 4 points into heat res 3 points into handicraft 2 points into crit draw Depending on the talisman you choose, you can boost handicraft or crit draw to make gemming easier, or you can opt for a whole new skill (granted it's best if the tali is 3 slot) while gemming into the other skills the armor provides. I've made 4 different variants, all with different weapons. GS: Crit Draw Weakness Exploit Evasion +1 Focus Tremor Res CB: Divine Blessing Sharpness +1 Weakness Exploit Artillary Novice Evasion +1 Focus LS: (I used the lucid narga longsword, but works really well with relic longswords too) Awaken Weakness Exploit Evasion +1 Razor Sharp Focus Divine Blessing Hammer: AuM Evasion +2 Divine Blessing Weakness Exploit Focus As you can see, this template has several amazing skills to utilize as well as the gem space/talisman potential for any other skill you can fit with gems. Most of the sets share Evasion and Weakness Exploit because I preferred those skills over any 5-slot skill, but depending on playstyles you can forgo the points the armor give and make something completely different. I'm really proud of this template and hope you choose to feature it one day.

If possible, do you have any mixed sets for the Hunting Horn? I don't want to use the Star Night stuff, and I cant seem to find any mixed sets that seem really good for it... Btw, if you do, i have a Maestro +10 ooo talisman

Status atk +2 doesn't work on blast last time I checked?

I like to go with bombardier for sleep set, but it's because i prefere to sleep bombing since i m mainly a player of sns, ig or ds. Status atk +2 increase blast dammages now? It didn't work with slime in MH3u and i was thinking it doesn't work in MH4u either.

Okay, so my favourite mixed set right now is one I made for the charge blade. It has a bit of everything for guarding, offensive skills, and stuff to maintain your sharpness Seltas Helm X ~ Throttle Jewel 2 Grand Divine Ire Robe (furious rajang) ~ Razor Jewel 3 Kuala Grip (rushed Kushala daora) ~ artillery Jewel 1 Grand Divine Ire Obi (furious Rajang) ~ Iron Wall Jewel 2 Miralis Drogues (requires you to defeat super gogmazios) ~ Artillery Jewel 1 Weapon ~ artillery Jewel 1 (x3) Talisman ~ artillery Jewel 1 (x3) It's best used with a three slot weapon, for example I use the True Ruiner Reaver (Crimson Fatalis) to get all the skills I want. And a Talisman with guard +7 with three slots (for all of the final skills but you can reduce some skills like artillery to get what you need) Final Skills: Artillery God Guard +1 Honed Blade Latent Power +1 Razor sharp It's great if you like to incorporate guard points into your play style and it's got all the skills that, I feel, work great with charge blade (latent power is only there because it only required one gem to get) and it looks pretty good, especially for a mix set. I, personally, hone my weapon for attack, as I like to go all out, but because of the lower defence on the seltas helmet, you may want to hone for defence, to make up for it, although life is always nice too. Yes it does require a rather rare talisman but you don't exactly need all the final skills, you could downgrade artillery God to artillery novice or expert to get guard +1 or +2 in, so you can really personalise it to fit your play style. Well that was a lot of typing, I'm done here xD

Whilst not a mix set, I was wondering what your opinion was on Psychic (Specifically Auto-tracker). I have that on my low rank armour set and it's incredibly handy for avoiding 2 big monster fights on the same map.

This is a pretty cool set but unfortunatly I already have a really good fast charge talismen that alows me to basicaly replicate this onmy Chameleos set but with HG earplug and windploof and without sharpness+.
