The first time I heard Patty Griffin, I was about 19 years old and her music was drifting out of a clothing store- meeting me down the street. I literally followed the sound and, not to be dramatic, but that moment was pivotal. I ended up working at that store (Anthropologie) for four years and was introduced to so many incredible people and music. Patty was one of the first, if not THE artist that made me really want to start writing my own songs. As the years have gone by, she always keeps sneaking back up on me. Especially this song.
