In this video, I tear down my old 318 to try to determine how the thrust bearings failed and discover some crankshaft damage. The 318 is off to its new owner thanks to FB marketplace (and I get my engine stand back!).
Thanks for explaining how IMPORTANT it is to mark all the pistons rod caps main caps and NOT just rip it all apart and mix everything together, now the block will need to be line board, because you mixed up the main caps, please leave the engine work to the engine builders!
Definitely have never claimed to be an engine builder. I only made this video because a subscriber asked to see what went wrong - otherwise I would have sold it for scrap. I ended up giving it away on FB marketplace to a guy who planned to do a full rebuild (assumed it would need to be honed/decked/line bored anyway). Your point is a good one though, and helpful for others who might find this video in the future, so thanks for taking the time to comment!
redfuel no way. It's going to get new bearings, The Really can't be mixed upAnd it's easy to tell which one came from where, And the pistons are getting new rings so everything you said is irrelevant. What's next you're gonna say that there are specific right and left heads??
